JEFFS, George A. - P.Eng - T36 - R.C.A.F. 1941-1946 - Passed away peacefully, on Friday, August 15, 2008, at the Elliott Nursing Home, Guelph, in his 97th year. George was the beloved husband of the late Louise Jeffs (1997); loving father of Lynda Ellis (Nick) and Lesley LeDrew (Don); adoring grandfather of Lynda Louise Ellis. Predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Kay, Viola, Lillian, Jim and Clive. George will be sadly missed by relatives, friends and the Swanson family. A special thanks to Dr. Blair Fraser and the entire Elliott Nursing Home staff for their love and support for Dad and our family. Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel , 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph where the family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, August 19 from 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday, August 20 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, August 21 at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park, Guelph. donations on George's behalf can be made to the Elliott Nursing Home or to a charity of one's choice.

KELLY, EdnaMae - Suddenly, at her residence, on Saturday, August 23, 2008. EdnaMae, at the age of 60, was the loving mother of Dean Lizotte. Dear sister of JoAnne Gordon, Vince Kelly and Bob Weber. She will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Desmond and Rita Kelly. Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel , 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph, on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 from 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at 10 a.m. Private cremation will follow. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Guelph Humane Society would be appreciated by the family.

KING, Harold Robert - (37 year employee of Fiberglass Canada) Passed away peacefully, at Guelph General Hospital, on Saturday, August 9, 2008. Harold R. King, in his 75th year, was the beloved husband of 54 years of Rose (Boizon) King of Guelph. He was the loving father of Valerie King and her husband Murray Harrop of Burlington and Michael King and his wife Jeannette of Guelph. Harold was the proud grandfather of Melissa Prior and her partner Tracey Montin of Guelph, Kristy Prior of Kitchener, Briana Reid, Beau Strickland, and Chysa Strickland all of Guelph and of five great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his two brothers, William and Richard King. Fondly remembered by his sister-in-law, Gay King of Guelph. Survived by several brothers and sisters-in-law and by many nieces and nephews. Private cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service for Harold will take place at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel , 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph, on Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. Ashes to be place in Our Lady Immaculate Mausoleum, Marymount Cemetery, Guelph. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Juravinski Cancer Centre would be appreciated by the family.

LAWRENCE, Donald Claude - Passed away peacefully, at Guelph General Hospital, on Thursday, July 17, 2008. Donald C. Lawrence, in his 94th year, was the beloved husband of the late Frances (McLeod) Lawrence (1993). He was the loving father of Peter Lawrence and his wife Rhoda Lee of Victoria, BC, and the late Genie Brenton (2002) and the late Donna Houle (1995). He was the loving grandfather of 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and was predeceased by his grandson Richard. Dear brother of the late Grace Horsley and uncle of Judy Horsley.
A Memorial Service will take place at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph, on Friday, July 25, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

LEADER, Rita (Lawlor) - Passed away peacefully, at Guelph General Hospital, on Sunday, August 17, 2008, with her family by her side, in her 93rd year. Rita was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth Leader (1989); loving mother of Paul (Elizabeth) of El Cajon, California, Howard (Valerie) of Guelph and the late Ted (1990); grandmother to Kelly, Cory, Cary, Barbara Ann, Adam and Ryan; great-grandmother of Klayton and Kerra; dear sister to Mary, Jennifer and Joe. Predeceased by brothers and sisters, Rose, Margaret, Barbara, Celeste, William, Bernard, Dan, Jim and Theodore. Rita will also be remembered by many nieces and nephews. Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel , 252 Dublin Street North, Guelph, where the family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A vigil will be held at the funeral home Wednesday at 8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2008 at Church of Our Lady, 28 Norfolk Street, Guelph at 10 a.m. Interment Marymount Cemetery. LOCKETT, Eric James - Passed away at the Homewood Health Centre, Guelph, on Tuesday, July 22, 2008. Eric Lockett, in his 87th year, was the beloved husband of Beryl. He was the dear step-father of Brenda (Tim) Elliott, Pat (Howard) Hall, Joanne (Jim) Frankow and Robert (Joanne) Wright. Eric was the loving grandfather of Peter (Cybil), Ken, Stuart, Scott (Laurel), Rebecca, Adam, Kari, Andy and Meghan. He was the dear great-grandfather of Emma, Jamie, Nathan, Chase and Gwenn. Eric is survived by his sister, Jenny and by his brothers, Ivan, Neville and Alan. The family will receive friends at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home , Hart Chapel , 1099 Gordon St., Guelph, on Friday, July 25, 2008 from 6-9 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, July 26, 2008 at 11 a.m., followed by a reception in the Hart Fellowship Room. The Interment of Ashes will follow at Eden Mills Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Eden Mills. MELLOR, Diane - Passed away suddenly, at the Guelph General Hospital, on Tuesday, August 5, 2008 in her 56th year. Diane was predeceased by her husband of 35 years, Andrew Mellor (2007). She will be deeply missed by her two sons, Angus (Jennifer) and Cameron Mellor, both of Rockwood; her sister, Leslie (Patrick) Cummings of Tacoma, Wash.; her brother-in-law, William Mellor, and also by many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. Dear father of Rita Stuebner (Karl); Angela Hill (Lorne); Larry Moroni (Paula), all of Guelph; Kathleen Moroni of San Francisco, Calif.; Amy Sponga (Angelo) of Guelph; Grace Szalay of Orillia and Denise Hopf (Herb) of Guelph. Loved Nonno of Rene, Greg, Kristina, David, Sara, Lisa, Emma, Alexander, Diane, Mario, Michael, Sheri, Jason, Jennifer, Stephen and Danielle, and Great-Nonno of 16 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Louis of Guelph, and Candido and Santina, both of Italy. Italo loved gardening and his home with family and friends. Armour O'Connell, in his 84th year, was the beloved husband of Marlene (McAllister) O'Connell. Dear father of Gary (Colleen) O'Connell, Michael O'Connell, Randy (Beverly) O'Connell and Catherine O'Connell. Cherished grandpa of Debbie, Ashley, Melissa and Jenna. Dear great-grandpa of Christopher and Noah. Survived by brother, Huck (Mary) O'Connell. Predeceased by his brother, Jack and sister, Betty. Army was a Second World War veteran and a Hospice volunteer since 1980. Also, he was awarded the Canada Volunteer Award. QUIRIPLE, Robert - Peacefully, with his family by his side, at Guelph General Hospital, on Friday, August 22, 2008. Robert Quiriple, in his 76th year, was the beloved husband of Ruth Quiriple. Loving father of Eva (Kelly) Quiriple, Alurd (Beverley) Quiriple, Craig (Diane) Quiriple, Kathleen (Harold) Bauer, Dorothy (Troy) Quiriple, Wilson Quiriple and Ian (Roxanne) Quiriple. Cherished papa of Nathan, James, Christine, Samantha-Lee, Shawn, Timmy, Ben, Natasha, Robert, Christopher, Matthew, Olivia and Tori. Robert was looking forward to meeting his 14th grandchild. Dear brother of Armond and Alice. Predeceased by his sister, Sible. Arrangements entrusted to Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home. As per Robert's wishes, cremation has taken place. Interment will take place in Gaspe, Quebec at a later date.

RAUSER, Stephanie - Peacefully on Thursday, July 31, 2008 at the Guelph General Hospital. Stephanie Rauser at the age of 69, was the beloved wife and best friend of Wilfried Rauser. Loving mother of Erick and his wife Andrea, and Ivan and his wife Jody. Adored Grandma of Rachel, Nicole and Hope. Survived by brother Gary Fry and his daughter Tina. Remembered by sister-in-law Janie Smith and her children Patrick and Amanda. Stephanie will be missed by many friends.

SACCHETTI, Maria Pina - With her family by her side, Maria, age 38 years, left our world, but not our hearts, on Monday, August 4, 2008. She was the beloved wife of Palmerino Saccheti and the loving, devoted, and very proud mother of Nicolas and Tonie Sacchetti. Maria was the cherished daughter of Nicola and Angela Soriano. She was the best friend and sister to Sylvana and her husband Mike Vair and Barbara and her husband Paul Baggio. Maria was the much loved Zia to Cristian, Giuliana, Martina, Anthony and Matthew. She was the dear daughter-in-law of Anselmina and the late Antonio (2005) Sacchetti. Maria was the dear sister-in-law of Gabrielle Sacchetti. Special appreciation and thanks to our dear friend, Frankie Hammond, who helped us beyond what words can express. We would also like to thank the staff of the Guelph General Hospital. Maria was loved by many and will be missed. SANVIDO, Bruno - Passed away peacefully at Grand River Hospital, Kitchener on Thursday, July 31, 2008 in his 81st year. A member of the Italian Canadian Club for over fifty years and twice president. Beloved husband of Joyce (nee Peacock) Sanvido. Loving father of son, Father Don Sanvido of St. Basil's Church in Brantford, and daughters Karren Sanvido of Guelph, Cathy (Paul) Grimwood of Guelph, and Lynda (Jim) Swafford of Ithaca, New York.
Cherished Poppy to Tara (Steve) Lemieux, Tina (Dave) Guidolin, Tanya Stewart, Amber Stewart, and Aaron Sanvido. Sadly missed by brothers Fred, Reno (Chip), and sisters Ida Longo and Ines Bolzon as well as many family members and friends. The family wishes to acknowledge their appreciation to both the Grand River Hospital and it's satellite dialysis unit in Guelph. A special thank you to Dr. Sommerville and all the nurses who have cared for Bruno through the years.
