Giles “Jiggs” Keeshig
1931 - 2006

Keeshig, Giles “Jiggs” – peacefully with his family at his side on Saturday, September 9th, 2006 at Grey Bruce Health Services Wiarton. Giles Sylvester Keeshig of Cape Croker in his 76th year. Jiggs was a Veteran of the Korean War. Loving husband of Annette (Nadjiwan). Cherished and loved father of Daniel, of Cape Croker; Kelly (Larry Whiteduck), of Aylmer, Quebec; and Lori (Howard Martin), of Ottawa. Papa of Kayla, Echo, Lacey, Rae-anna, Jessica, Brendan, and James. Survived by sisters Debbie (Frank Jetté), of Ottawa; Julie (Joe Damm), of Long Sault; and Sandra (Ken Lee), of Owen Sound. Brother-in-law of Vera Kuktha, of Welland; Dorothy (Ross Johnston) and Ernest Nadjiwan (Lillian), both of Cape Croker. Sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, and friends. Predeceased by his beloved parents Sylvester Keeshig and Irene and Joe Akiwenzie, and sister Lorene Akiwenzie. Friends may call at the Thomas C. Whitcroft Funeral Home & Chapel, Sauble Beach (519) 422-0041 on Sunday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., where a service will be conducted in the chapel on Monday morning at 11 o’clock. Members of Royal Canadian Legion Br. 208 Wiarton will hold a memorial service Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Liver Foundation, or Breast Cancer Research would be greatly appreciated. A Red Maple tree will be planted in memory of Jiggs at the family home by the funeral home.

Bernice Frandsen
1926 - 2006

Frandsen, Bernice Christine – Peacefully, with her family at her side at Gateway Haven in Wiarton on Wednesday, July 5th, 2006. The former Bernice Christine Contois of Wiarton in her 81st year. Loving mother of Jim of RR#3 Wiarton; Pat and her husband Guy Chegahno, of RR#5 Wiarton; and Pete, of Arizona. Cherished grandmother of Jake (Frandsen); Jennifer, Lindsay, Janna, Sarah, Stacey, Cody, Rebekah, Kevin and Kyle (Chegahno); Kristopher, Niels, and Jessie Lee (Frandsen); and great-grandmother of Noah, Olivia, Madeline, Devin, Jude, Sparrow, Lyric, Theron, Maverick, Malakee, Kyrah, Amber, Brandon, Paige and Megan. Dear sister of Myrtle and her husband Bernard Hamelin, and Annie LePage, all of Midland. Sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews, and friends at Gateway Haven. Predeceased by husband Niels Frandsen and friend David Fenning. Bernice will be forever remembered for her love of family and selfless compassion toward anyone in need. A service celebrating Bernice’s life will be conducted in the chapel of the Thomas C. Whitcroft Funeral Home & Chapel, Sauble Beach (519) 422-0041 on Saturday, July 8, 2006 at 11:00 o’clock, with visiting one hour prior to service. Cremation. As an expression of sympathy, donations to Friends of Gateway, Alzheimer’s Society, or Owen Sound Animal Shelter would be greatly appreciated. A Weeping Willow tree will be planted at the funeral home in memory of Bernice.

Ted Smith
1921 - 2006

Smith, Ted “Smitty” (WWII Veteran - peacefully with his family at his side at his Oliphant residence on Tuesday, June 6th, 2006. Edward “Ted” William Smith in his 85th year. Devoted husband of the late former Betty Jean Robbins. Cherished father of Tedye-Lee Oakes and her husband Roger, of Mount Hope; Robin and his wife Angie, of New Market; and Sherry Mitchell and her husband Gary, of Hamilton. Beloved grandfather of eight; and great-grandfather of six. Caring brother of Dorothy Mills, of Stoney Creek, Irene Gavin and her husband Charlie, of Burlington, Roy and his wife Jerry, of Ancaster, and Ron and his wife Mary, of Vancouver. He will be missed by his nieces, nephews and many friends. Ted is predeceased by a son, Terry; his parents, William and Violet; and sisters Ivy Smith, and Daisy House. Ted served his country with the Royal Canadian Artillery - 1st Medium Regiment, stationed in Italy and N.W. Europe. He has been a proud member of Royal Canadian Legion Br# 208 Wiarton since 1970. Cremation has taken place. Family will receive friends at the THOMAS C. WHITCROFT FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, Sauble Beach (519) 422-0041 on Saturday, June 10, 2006 from 12 noon until 2 o'clock where a Celebration of Ted's Life will be held in the chapel. Members of Royal Canadian Legion Br# 208 Wiarton will hold a memorial service at 1:45 pm. A Sugar Maple tree will be planted and dedicated at the funeral home following the service. Thence to DODSWORTH & BROWN Funeral Home, ANCASTER CHAPEL, 378 Wilson Street East, Ancaster, where the family will receive friends on Saturday, June 17, 2006 from 12 noon until the Funeral Service in the Chapel at 2 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations to War Amps, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario, or Bruce Peninsula Health Services Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

David Cooper
1936 - 2006

Cooper, David Brian - passed away in Wiarton, on Saturday, March 11th, 2006. David Brian Cooper of Sauble Beach in his 71st year. Beloved husband of the former Pat Day. Cherished father of Jamie and his wife Yvonne, of Brampton. Caring grandfather of Brandon, Alana, and David. Brother of Glen Cooper and his wife Roxanne, of Glen Williams; brother-in-law of Charlene MacCormack, of Port Carling. Sadly missed by his extended family, Bill and Mary Schneider, of Palmerston; nieces, nephews and many friends. Predeceased by his parents, George “Jiggs” and Aileen Cooper; and brother Gary. David was proud to serve five years with the Royal Canadian Navy, with his last posting on the Aircraft Carrier HMCS Bonaventure. Family wish friends to join with them for a Celebration of David's Life and Tree Dedication at the THOMAS C. WHITCROFT FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, Sauble Beach (519) 422-0041 on Saturday, May 27th, 2006 at 2 o’clock. As an expression of sympathy, donations to Vision 2002 or Bruce Peninsula Hospice would be appreciated and may be made through the funeral home. Loving husband of the former Betty Robinson. Cherished father of Gerry and his wife Christina, of Mississauga; Terry and his wife Fran, Leonora and her late husband Bill Quackenbush, Liz and her husband George Clarke, and Liette Craig, all of Sauble Beach. Treasured grandfather of eleven and great-grandfather of fifteen. Brother of William and his wife Barbara, of Birkenhead, UK; Irene and her husband Gorman McMullan, Eva and her husband Neville Shilladay, and Norma and her husband Victor Craig, all of Belfast, NI. Bittorf, Hector Emmanuel – suddenly at his home in Aurora on Monday, March 13, 2006 in his 68th year. Hector, beloved husband of Grace. Loving father of Fred and his wife Nancy, Michael and his wife Debbie, Terrence and his wife Norma, Margaret and her husband Spencer. ‘Granda’ will be lovingly remembered by Jason, Jonathan, Cassie, James, Ashlyn and great-grandson Khale. Cherished mother of Ruth and her husband Alec McCormick, of Toronto; Patricia and her husband Lynton Strathdee, of Stouffville; and Steven and his wife Mary, of Sauble Beach. Loving grandmother of Jonathan, Katherine, Carolyn, Lynnea, Bryan, Brett, David, and Mark. Sister of Violet Martin, of Toronto. Predeceased by her brothers Joe, Jack and George and sisters Maud and Marg. Friends may call at the Thomas C. Koopman, Jansje “Ann” - peacefully at Gateway Haven, Wiarton, on Monday April 10th, 2006. The former Jansje Wagt of Wiarton, and formerly of Wingham, in her 89th year. Loving wife of the late Pieter Koopman (2005). Dear mother of Simon and his wife Gail, of Wiarton, and Hilbert and his wife Diane, of Wingham. Cherished grandmother of Ross, Julie, Jamie, Brett, and great-grandmother of four. Survived by her sisters Nellie, of the Netherlands, and Mary, of Georgetown. Predeceased by brothers Rijk, and Hilbert. Jansje worked at Smith & Stone in Georgetown for over 30 years. At Jansje’s request there will be no visitation or service. Cremation. David Cooper
1936 - 2006

1940 - 2005

Sinclair, Robert "Bob" - passed away suddenly in Shenzhen, China on Sunday, November 20, 2005 at the age of 65. Robert Wesley Bertram Sinclair of China and formerly of Burlington. Survived by his wife Xinyi. Cherished father of Michael and his wife Jacqueline of Dundas, Suzanne, of Barrie; and Warren of Burlington. Beloved grandfather to Jason, Lauren and Connor. Dear brother of James Sinclair and his wife Shirley, of Wiarton; and Marilyn and her husband Ray Watson, of Wiarton. Uncle to Mary-Lynn, Dianne, and Ian. Predeceased by his parents Bert and Meta Sinclair. Bob was an educator with the Peel Board of Education for almost 30 years and taught in China for the past 4 years. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Thomas C. Whitcroft Funeral Home & Chapel, Sauble Beach (519) 422-0041. Cremation has taken place. A service to celebrate Bob’s life will be held in the chapel on Saturday December 17th, 2005 at 1 o’clock p.m. Visiting two hours prior to service. Interment in Bayview Cemetery, Wiarton. A Pine tree will be planted at the funeral home in memory of Bob.
