Loving mother of Mary Jane Monahan and her husband John and Roberta Ryan and her husband Doug. Loving grandmother of Lori and Lisa Monahan and Alicia and Chris Ryan. Special friend of Alvin Ward and family. Bernice was Born July 4th, 1919 in Duluth, Minnesota to parents John and Victoria Zomerfelt. Predeceased by her older brother Walter and his wife Evelyn. Beloved sister of Raymond Zomerfelt and his wife Donna of Duluth, Minnesota. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in the United States, and by nephew in law Lloyd Wagner and his wife Alice of Owen Sound, and their family Robert Wagner and Andrea Laing. Pienta, Bernice Ellenora September 30, 1927 ~ October 18, 2006 It is with great sadness that the family of Bernice Pienta announces her passing. She was a companion and life-long partner to her husband Stanley. A devoted mother and friend to Gail, Jacqueline, and Sherry (husband Dennis). She was a devoted Nana to her four grandchildren and her great grandchildren. Bernice was a survivor - beating leukemia and breast cancer. She bravely succumbed to lung and brain cancer. Bernice was an inspiration to all who met her. Bernice had an uplifting spirit and great sense of humour. She will be loved, missed and never forgotten by all those who were touched by her heart. Cremation has taken place. At the request of the family, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in memory of Bernice and can be made through the funeral home.
