Muriel Ruth Lambshead
March 19, 1921 - July 23, 2001

Muriel Ruth "Lambie" Lambshead, R.N.,B.R.E. Peacefully, in her sleep, at Mount Nemo Christian Nursing Home, Burlington, on Monday, July 23, 2001, Ruth Lambshead of Burlington in her 81st year. Ruth was predeceased by her parents, the Reverend A.N. "Net" and Ethel (nee Job) Lambshead, her sister, Ethel Davy and brother, Albert Lambshead. Ruth will be lovingly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and friends.

Ruth was a graduate of Hamilton General Hospital School of Nursing - Class of 1946, of the London Bible Institute and Theological Seminary – Class of 1951, as well as Alumnus of the Year - 1983 (now Tyndale College and Seminary of Toronto); a member of Park Bible Church and served as a Medical Missionary with the Africa Evangelical Fellowship (1954-1988) in Lulwe, Malawi, East Africa. Because of her interest in medicine, Ruth's body was donated to the McMaster University School of Anatomy.

Visitation at Park Bible Church, 1500 Kerns Road, Burlington on Saturday 7-9 p.m. The family invites friends to join with them at the church for a Service of Remembrance and Thanksgiving for Ruth's Life on Sunday, July 29, 2001 at 2 p.m.

If desired, expressions of sympathy to the International Missions Fund at Park Bible Church, or the CNIB would be sincerely appreciated by the family.

Anne Steadman
January 30, 1943 - October 21, 2001

On October 21, 2001 in her 59th year after a long and courageous journey with cancer. She will be sadly missed by her husband Jim, children Jason and Jennifer, sister Lynne Irving (Ian) and brother Bill Treleaven (Nealie) brother in law Bruce Bonnyman, her many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. She will be remembered for her radiant spirit, love of teaching and story telling.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Canadian Cancer Research Society 305-200 Isabella Street, Ottawa K1S 1V7 or the Ian Anderson House 430 Winston Churchill Blvd. Oakville, Ontario L6J 4Z2.

For those wishing to honour her memory in her special way, simply perform an act of kindness for a child: tell a story encourage a sense of wonder for the natural world. A celebration of Anne's life will take place on Wednesday October 24, 2001 at Port Nelson United Church (3132 South Drive Burlington.) from 1 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. Reception to follow. Peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospital on December 31, 2001 at the age of 55. Dear husband of Laima. Loving father of Krista, Shannon her husband Jim Morreale and his granddaughter Hannah. Gary will be lovingly remembered by his father J. Nelson Allan and wife Helen of Burlington,his sister Starr and husband Larry, niece and nephew Tricia and Gavin Bell of Peterborough and mother-in-law Petre Vitas of Burlington. Predeceased by his mother Willowmine.

Ernest (Ernie) Roy Smith
October 2, 1949 - December 29, 2001

In his 53rd year. Dear husband of Sandra (Ross) for 30 years. The greatest Dad on earth to Mackenzie and her husband Fernando Galvez and son Benjamin. Survived by brothers Dennis (Cathy), Bill (Linda), Stephan (Lena) and sister Mona (Joe). Also survived by father-in-law Richard Ross.

Ernie was the proud owner of ERNIE'S MEAT MARKET in Burlington which he dreamed of and finally opened in 1990. His legend will be carried on by his family. Cremation has taken place.

A memorial service will take place at TANSLEY UNITED CHURCH (2111 Walker's Line, Burlington) on Thursday January 3rd 2002 at 7 p.m. Donations to the Ian Anderson House (430 Winston Churchill Blvd. Oakville, Ontario) or the charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.

Nathan Richard Cowan
September 3, 1977 - February 16, 2002

Suddenly, as a result of a car accident, on Saturday February 16th 2002. Nathan Cowan, in his 25th year. Beloved son of Jill Callaghan and Stephen Cowan. Cherished brother of Jason (Trish)and Tyler. Grandson of May Callaghan and Geraldine Cowan. Survived by girlfriend Lesley Piccinato, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will miss him greatly.

A remarkable young man who genuinely made a difference. A fourth year Honours student at Queens University, Nathan was on the threshold of receiving a double degree in Engineering and Economics. Nathan ranked seventh in North America for laser sailing and was recently carded as a member of the Canadian National Sailing Team, he was well on the way to his Olympic dream.

Private family viewing Tuesday 6-9 p.m. Public visitation 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Dodsworth and Brown Funeral Home, Burlington Chapel (905-637-5233) 2241 New Street at Drury Lane, Burlington. Funeral Mass at ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, (Blairholme at Brant), Burlington. Thursday, February 21st at 11 a.m. Cremation and private internment.

Donald A. Squire (MB., Ch.B., F.R.C.P. (C), D.Psych.)
September 25, 1913 - March 12, 2002

Born London, England, September 25, 1913, died Burlington, Ontario, March 12, 2002. Don served as a medical officer in the British Army, attached to Canadian Division and supported Canadian efforts on D-Day Invasion of Europe. He enjoyed Canadians so much, he decided to immigrate with his wife Lois and young family in 1950. After working as Provincial Medical Director Canadian Red Cross Transfusion Service in Hamilton, he studied Psychiatry at the University of Toronto. He then worked at the Hamilton Psychiatric Hospital from 1958 until 1975. In his later years, he enjoyed a challenge exploring words, water colours, stamps and his computer.

Beloved husband of Lois (nee Dodgson) Squire. Loving father of Richard Squire of Montreal, Rosemary Squire-Graydon and her husband Jay Graydon of Hamilton and the late Maria Squire. Cherished grandfather of Myrna Squire and Gillian, John and Hilary Graydon. Dear brother of Ruth Gee of New Haven, Connecticut and the late Frank and Eric Squire. Cremation private.

Friends are invited to join with the family for a Service of Remembrance at Smith's Funeral Home, 485 Brant Street (1 block North of City Hall), Burlington (905-632-3333) on Saturday, March 16th, 2002 at 3 p.m.

Dear husband and companion of Fern (nee Kemp) for fifty years. Loving father of daughter Karen and husband Gary, son Scott and wife Charlene, daughter Jane, daughter Susan, son Jamie, daughter Fern and partner Bob.

Sadly missed by grandchildren Shane, Erin, Joshua, Jacinta, Danielle, Graham, Jake, Kelly and Cooper.

Cremation has taken place.

Beloved husband and best friend for 52 years of Bertha (nee Bradley) Jarron. Loving father of Kristine Hebert and husband Serge of Kingston, Robert and his wife Lorraine of Calgary and Donald and his wife Joanne of Ajax. Special grandfather of Peter, Eric, Elizabeth, Kendra, Erin, David, Lukas and Samantha. Dear brother of Marjorie Lyng of Montreal and the late Jim and Jessie Jarron.

Bob served with the Royal Canadian Artillery in Italy and Europe during the WWII. He was an engineer in the chemical industry and also had a love for writing poetry. A collection of his poetry can be read at www.axxent.ca/~rcjarron.
