Edgar Dion

We regret to announce the death of Edgar Dion on May 5, 2000 at the Sensenbrenner hospital at the age of 69 years. Edgar Dion is survived by his wife Cheryl, 6 sons; Denis husband of Diane, Michel, Jacques husband of Lynn all of Kirkland Lake, Luc husband of Clara of Espanola, Gerald, Daniel husband of Sylvie of Mattice, 1 daughter; Suzanne Fleury wife of Daniel of North Bay, 3 sisters; Irene Begin. Lorraine Rombough of Kapuskasing, Colette Piche of Moonbeam. 2 brothers; Raymond and Lucien of Kapuskasing, as well as 15 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Edgar Dion also survived by his first wife Emilie Dion of Mattice. He is predeceased by his brother Claude. Funeral service was held on May 8 at the Immaculee Conception Church in Kapuskasing. Burial followed at the Kapuskasing Cemetery.

William Tessier

We regret to announce the death of William Tessier on April 25, 2000 at North Centennial Manor, Kapuskasing at the age of 88 years. William Tessier is predeceased by his wife Adele in 1999. He is survived by 2 sons: Gérald, Alpha husband of Laura, 1 daughter: Annette Lepage all of Kapuskasing, 1 sister: Irène Dubois of Timmins, 1 brother: Roger of Revelstoke, B.C., as well as 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. Funeral service was held on Friday April 28 at the Kapuskasing Baptist Church. Burial followed at the Kapuskasing Cemetery.

Madeleine Belanger

We regret to announce the death of Madeleine Belanger on April 23, 2000 at the Sensenbrenner hospital,Kapuskasing at the age of 69 years. Madeleine Belanger is survived by her husband Ovila Belanger of Kapuskasing, 1 daughter: Diane Doucet wife of Raymond of Marathon, 2 sons: Yves husband of Sylvie Sabourin of Kapuskasing, Allain husband of Judith Lepage Belanger of Kapuskasing, 3 brothers: Roger Duranceau of Amos, Marcel Duranceau of Kapuskasing, Claude Duranceau of St Catharine, as well as 5 grandchildren. Funeral service will be held on April 26, 2000 at the Notre Dame des Victoires Church in Kapuskasing. Burial will follow at the Kapuskasing Cemetery. Donations to the Lung Association would be greatly appreciated.

Dolores Thompson

We regret to announce the death of Dolores Thompson on April 11, 2000 at the Sensenbrenner hospital at the age of 62 years. Dolores Thompson is survived by her husband Allan Thompson of Kapuskasing, daughters: Martine Beaulieu wife of Réjean, Lucie Greene wife of Larry, Susie Doiron wife of André all of Kapuskasing, son: Jean-Claude Chevalier husband of Annette of Kapuskasing, sisters: Germaine of Hearst, Ginette of Timmins, Madeleine of Kapuskasing, Mariette of Hearst, Nicole of Timmins, brothers: Raymond of Val Rita, Vienney of Kapuskasing, Ange-Albert of Strickland, Réjean of Rouyn-Noranda, as well as 9 grandchildren. Funeral service was held on April 14 at the Notre Dame des Victoires Church in Kapuskasing with Father Roger Pronovost officiating. Burial will follow at the Kapuskasing Cemetery.

Françoise Gagné

We regret to announce the death of Françoise Gagné on April 8, 2000 at the Victoria Royal Hospital in Montreal at the age of 83 years. Françoise Gagné is survived by her husband Eugene Gagné of Kapuskasing, 4 daughters: Diane Bourgon wife of Reynald of London, Judith Rouleau wife of Jean-Guy of Dubreuilville, Michelle Leblanc wife of Mickey of Guelph, Rachelle Smith of London, 2 stepdaughters: Carmen Losier wife of Wilfred, Annette Grzela wife of Ide all of Kapuskasing, 2 brothers: Georges Gendron of Kapuskasing, Bruno Gendron of Rouyn as well as 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Françoise Gagné is pre-deceased by her 1st husband Georges Poitras, 1 daughter: Lucie, 2 stepdaughters: Pauline Blais, Simone Richard, 5 stepsons: Paul Poitras, Maurice Poitras, Henri Poitras, Raoul Poitras and Gérard Poitras. Funeral service was held on April 13 at the Immaculée Conception Church with Father Gilles Gosselin officiating. Burial will follow at the Kapuskasing Cemetery.

Simone Dumais

We regret to announce the death of Mme Simone Dumais on April 4, 2000 at the Laurentian hospital in Sudbury at the age 75 years. She is pre-deceased by 1 daughter Reine Chmilewski, 2 sons: Gérald and Fernand. Simone Dumais is survived by her husband: René of Kapuskasing, 6 sons: Gilles husband of Laura of Thunder Bay, Claude husband of Shirley of Kapuskasing, Daniel husband of Hélène of Kapuskasing, Richard husband of Jane of Kitchener, Régent of Collingwood, René Jr. of Bracebridge, 4 daughters: Simone Pouliot wife of Rosaire of Kapuskasing, Michelle Campbell wife of Bill of Schhreiber, Lise Dumais of Hull, Carole Brown wife of Fred of Fort Francis, 1 sister: Yollande Breton of Sherbrooke, 1 brother: Gilles Sinotte of Sherbrooke, as well as 15 grandchildren, The funeral service will be held on Saturday April 8 at the Immaculée Conception Church in Kapuskasing with Father Gilles Gosselin officiating. Cremation will follow at the J.H. Fleury Crematorium. Donations to the Kidney Fondation or World Vision would be greatly appreciated.

Camille Albert

We regret to announce the death of Camille Albert on March 24, 2000 at the Sensenbrenner hospital at the age of 78 years. He is survived by his wife: Lucille of Kapuskasing, 1 son: Serge husband of Debbie of Copper Cliff, 2 daughters: Carole wife of Laurent, Francine all of Kapuskasing, 3 sisters: Yvonne Bérubé of Fauquier, Germaine Lauzon of Hamilton, Sébastienne Dufour of Moonbeam, 1 brother: Jean of Fauquier, as well as 8 grandchildren. A memorial service was held on Thursday March 30 at the Guenette Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. Cremation was at the J.H. Fleury Crematorium.

Julianna Putos

We regret to anounce the death of Julianna Putos on March 24, 2000 at the Sensenbrenner hospital, Kapuskasing at the age of 95 years.Mrs. Putos is survived by 2 daughters: Anne Lowe of Kapuskasing, Julie Harney of Toronto, 2 sisters: Anna and Maria both of Pohorella, Slovak Republic, as well as 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Julianna Putos is pre-deceased by her husband Jozef, 2 sons: Jozef and Jozef, 2 brothers: Tomas and Karol, 1 great grandchild Jeremy. Funeral service was held on Tuesday March 28 at St Patrick's Church in Kapuskasing. Burial will follow at the Kapuskasing Cemetery.

Jeanne Ayotte

We regret to announce the death of Jeanne Ayotte on March 26, 2000 at the Sensenbrenner hospital at the age of 94 years. She is survived by her husband: Ferdinand Ayotte of Kapuskasing, 1 daughter: Fernande Fournier wife of Maurice of Kapuskasing, 2 sons: Claude of Kapuskasing, Paul husband of Claire of Val Rita, 1 sister-in-law Thérèse Trudel of St Thecle, Quebec, as well as 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral service was held on March 29 at the Immaculée Conception Church in Kapuskasing at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at the Kapuskasing Cemetery.

She is predeceased by her husband Leopold Dallaire, 1 son and 1 brother.Gilberte Dallaire is survived by 5 sons:Guy husband of Mariette of Harty, Lucien-Paul husband of Line of Hull, Rémi husband of Georgette of Orillia, Daniel husband of Lucille of Timmins, Ronald husband of Jocelyne of Orleans 7 daughters:Charlotte Villeneuve wife of Gérard of Hearst, Francine Garon wife of Léo of Kapuskasing, Lise Ouellette wife of Marius of Kapuskasing, Paquerette Dallaire of New Liskeard, Jacynthe Dallaire of Toronto, Suzanne Côté wife of Nil of Jogues, Hélène Tanguay wife of Louis of Sudbury as well as 29 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren. Funeral service was held Friday March 24 at the St Stanislas Church in Harty at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Harty Cemetery. Donations to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

Funeral service was held on Monday March 20, at the Ste Agnes church in Fauquier. Burial will follow at the Fauquier Cemetery.

Bernard Charpentier

We regret to announce the death of Bernard Charpentier on March 9, 2000 at the Sensenbrenner hospital at the age of 57 years. Bernard Charpentier is survived by his wife Georgette Charpentier of Kapuskasing, 4 daughters: Sylvie Potvin wife of Dwayne of Ottawa, Colette Plourde wife of Daniel Timmins,. Lucie Bilucaglia wife of Giuseppe of Harty, Louise Charpentier of Kapuskasing, 1 son: Claude Charpentier of Kapuskasing, 8 daughters: Thérèse Nolet, Ange-Aimée Nadeau, Marguerite Nadeau, Madeleine Boudreau, Sally Veilleux, Monique Séguin, Juliette Garand, Julienne Desbiens all of Kapuskasing, as well as 3 grandchildren. Funeral service was held on Saturday March 11 at the Notre Dame des Victoires Church in Kapuskasing. Burial will follow at the Kapuskasing Cemetery.

Théophile Landry

We regret to announce the death of Théophile Landry on Friday March 3, 2000 at home at the age of 78 years. He is survived by his spouse Claudette Belisle of Kapuskasing, 1 son: Euclide friend of Barbara of Kapuskasing, 3 daughters: Cécile Lawrence wife of Ken, Nicole Mondoux both of Kapuskasing, Della Brochu wife of Allain of Montreal. 2 sisters: Rosa Landry of Bathurst, N.B., Ina Gagné of Trois-Rivières, Québec, as well as 6 grandchildren,and 2 great grandchildren. Funeral service was held on Tuesday March 7 at the Immaculée Conception Church in Kapuskasing. Burial will follow at the Kapuskasing Cemetery.
