BIRDSELL - Mr. Albert E. Birdsell, formerly of William St. Delhi, passed away at Parkwood Hospital, London on Saturday, October 13, 2001 in his 82nd year. Royal Canadian Army Service Corps Veteran having served overseas with his countrymen during W.W. II. Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 125, Delhi. Beloved husband of Florence Miller. Loving father of Raymond Birdsell, Simcoe; David Birdsell (friend Johanna), Simcoe; Allan Birdsell, Delhi and Rosemarie Birdsell (husband Paul), Port Stanley. Cherished grandfather of Patricia Deschorse (husband Jason), Victoria Birdsell, David Birdsell Jr. (wife Shannon), David Bolton (wife Shannon), John Bolton, Krystal Bolton, Julie Shaw (friend Glen), Robert Potts Jr. and the late Lisa Potts (2000) and her husband Richard. Dear great-grandfather of: Skyler, Delaney, Danika, Bradley, Linsay, Natasha, Shae-Lynn and Justin. Also survived by one sister, Nellie West (husband William), Simcoe and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by one sister, Clara Birdsell (late husband Russell) and by two brothers, Lloyd Birdsell (late wife Elizabeth) and Walter Birdsell (late wife Letha). Friends may call at MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi for visitation on Tuesday (from 2:00 to 4:00 & 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.) with a Royal Canadian Legion Service on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday October 17th at 11:00 a.m. with Padre Mark Poulin officiating. Interment in Delhi cemetery. Donations to the Alzheimer Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation will be gratefully acknowledged by the family.

De maere Jerome of Lansdowne Ave., Delhi passed away at the Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe on Monday, October 15, 2001 in his 88th year. Born in Belsele, E.F., Belgium. Son of the late Polidor De Maere and Theresia Steels. He came to Canada in 1948 to St. Williams and to Lynedoch in 1950 before retiring to Delhi in 1983. Beloved husband of late Gerarda De maere Verdonck (1992). Dear father of Marc De Maere (and wife Jeanette), St. Williams; Luke De Maere (and wife Agnes), Delhi; Greta Lebeer (and husband frits), Lynedoch; Rita Navickas (and husband Vic), Arnprior, Linda Van Craenenbroeck (and husband Gerard) tillsonburg; Mary Christiaen (and husband Lawrence), Turkey Point; anita Van Damme (and husband edmond), Delhi; vera De maere, Delhi and John De Maere (and wife joanne), Delhi. Loving grandfather of 24 grandchildren & 11 great-grandchildren. Also many nieces and nephews in Canada & Belgium. Predeceased by 3 infant grandchildren; 3 sisters Celestine, Maria and Clara and 4 brothers; Cyriel, Alfons, August and Jozef. Funeral Mass to be held at St. John Brebeuf and Companions Roman Catholic Church, Delhi on Thursday morning at 10 a.m. said by Rev. Fr. Mark Poulin. Interment Delhi cemetery. GARDINER, Raymond - Suddenly at the Norfolk General Hospital, on Saturday, October 13th, 2001, in his 79th year, of Mill Pond Court Simcoe. Beloved husband of the late Norma (Lundy) (July 2001). Dear father of Michael, Prince George, B.C.; Catherine (Cat) Gardiner, and Dr. Tracey Gardiner (Dave Brown), both of Simcoe. Brother of Earl, Brantford. Predeceased by brother John, & sisters Marie & Etheyln. Ray was former employee of Silverwoods Dairy for 25 yrs., Norview Lodge, and Long Point Conservation Parks. Naval Veteran of W.W. II and Life member and past president of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #123 Waterford. LODER, Stella, peacefully at home in Port Dover in the presence of her loving family, on Monday, October 15, 2001 at the age of 62. Stella fought a courageous battle with cancer. She will be sadly missed by dear friends Bruce and Albert. Dearly loved mother and mother-in-law of Doreen and Russ Maracle of Brantford, Wayne of Simcoe, Don and Caroline of Port Dover, Barbara Berkmortel and friend Phailey of Brantford and Rob and Tammy of Port Dover. Cherished grandma of six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents Guy and Alice Emsley, a sister Freda and a brother Vern. Mrs. Loder is at the THOMPSON WATERS FUNERAL HOME, 102 First Ave., Port Dover for visitation on Wednesday, October 17, 2001 from 12-1:00 p.m. at which time the Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel. McMILLAN, John Thomas - Peacefully, at home on Friday, October, 12, 2001 surrounded by his family. Tom was in his 52nd year. Tom was the beloved husband and best friend of Melody De Fields, and the cherished father of Taryn and Justin. Dear son of Elsie (Dodd) McMillan of London and the late A. D. McMillan (Mike). Dear son-in-law of the late Chet and Betty De Fields. Dear brother of Michael and his wife Marilyn, Bob and his wife Barb, Anne Gow and her husband Bill and Tim. Dear brother-in-law of Lynne and Larry Partridge, Dave and Carol De Fields, John and Debbie De Fields, and Scott and Susan De Fields. Tom will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews, Brad, Dallas, Jayden, Larry, Anne, Staci, Mandy, Danielle, Dylan, Pam, Mark, Bretton and Hayley. Predeceased by his nephew William Gow and by his niece Crystal De Fields. Tom taught for 30 years at Walsingham Public School and was an avid nature photographer. Tom will live in our hearts forever. McNELLES, Anna Marian Suddenly at McMaster University Hospital, Hamilton on Thursday, October 11, 2001. Anna Marian McNelles of Simcoe, formerly of Scotland, in her 76th year. Beloved wife of Kenneth McNelles. Loving mother of Larry & wife Sharon of Thornhill, Mary Ann & husband Brian Shay of RR#2 Scotland, Laurie McNelles & Rhiannon Davies of Toronto. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Paul, Jaime Lee & Anna Mae Shay, Phillip & Stuart McNelles & Rhodri Davies-McNelles. Sister of Dorothy & husband Harold Kidd of Alberta, William & wife Lillian Campbell of Paris, Malcolm & wife Rosemary Campbell of Newport. Anna was an active volunteer & community member. MINO, Bertha Louise - passed away at her residence in Simcoe on Thursday, October 18th, 2001 in her 95th year. Beloved wife of the late Frank Mooers and the late Andy Mino. Dear mother of Dorothy Lewis, Murray Mooers, Judy Bremner, Wilbur Mooers all of Nova Scotia; John Mooers of the U.S.A. and Cyril Mooers of Simcoe. Bertha will be fondly remembered by her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. At Bertha's request, public visitation will be held in Liverpool, Nova Scotia on Tuesday, October 23rd, 2001 with the funeral service to be held on Wednesday afternoon. MOORE Hazel (Smith) - At the Norfolk General Hospital on Saturday October 13, 2001 of Waterford and formerly of Villa Nova in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late Norman Moore. Dear mother and mother-in-law of David & Bonnie, Bill & Joyce, all of Villa Nova. Loving grandmother of Marsha, Lindsay, Evan, & Eric. Sister of Charlie Smith (& Edna), Hagersville. Also survived by sister-in-laws Hazel Smith, Joan Smith and several nieces & nephews. Predeceased by brothers Cecil, Fred, Jack, Mac, & Ken. PICCOLO, Alfeo Louis - passed away at the Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe on Saturday, October 13, 2001 in his 80th year. Beloved husband of Arlene Piccolo (nee Mattice) of Simcoe. Proud father of Marlene Wall and her husband Richard of Sault Ste. Marie; Barry Deming of Port Dover, Scott Keefer and his wife Christine of St. Thomas. Mr. Piccolo will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Nichol, Thomas, Collin, Kristine, Brandie, Jayden, Cory and his great grandchildren Moria and Chelsey. Mr. Piccolo is predeceased by his son Allan Piccolo; his parents the late Peter and Maria Piccolo, and one sister Anna Dorthery. RENTON, Mary Olive - Peacefully, at London University Hospital, London, on Friday, October 12, 2001 in her 93rd year. Wife of the late Harold Renton (1944). Beloved mother of Bill Renton and his wife Phyllis of Simcoe, and Joyce Ryckman of London. Loving Grandmother of 1 granddaughter Penny Ryckman, 5 grandsons Steven and Deborah Renton, Bill and Sue Renton, Michael and Kim Ryckman, Larry Renton and Tracy Dawson, Anthony and Anita Renton and 13 great grandchildren, Brittany, Mathew, Billy, Jeremy, Joseph, Allison, Rebecca, Victoria, Nicole, Curtis, Jacob, Johnathon and Kyle. Will be sadly missed by her sister Ethel Clarke and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her grandson Alan Ryckman (1981) and her brother Morrison Spencer (1998). Mrs. Renton was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Simcoe, a member of the I.O.D.E. as well as the Silver Cross Holder. RODGERS Robert "Bob" Duncan - Peacefully surrounded by family at the Willett Hospital, Paris on Saturday, October 13th, 2001 in his 59th year. Cherished husband and best friend of Nancy (nee: Ashton). Devoted and proud Dad of Craig and his wife Christina, Kelley Dietrich and her husband Pat. Special brother of Wray and his wife Saundra, of Simcoe. Dear son of the late Harold (1986) and Edith (1995), caring brother of the late Patti (1994). Son-in-law of the late Bert (1973) and Marion Ashton (1999). He will be missed by treasured friends the Lovekins, Peters, Rays, Sawkins and Youngs. Lovingly remembered by nephew Jamie (Lori), and niece Andrea (John) and their families, Aunt Bea, Aunt Ev and cousin Ric. He was a dedicated professional at Massey-Ferguson (25 years), Raytheon (Waterloo), and Rapistan Systems (Mississauga). Bob was an honourable man whose thoughtfulness will be missed by many. SINDEN, Betty Louise, peacefully at her home in Port Dover, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, October 16, 2001, after a courageous battle with cancer. Dearly loved wife and best friend of Harold of 45 years. Proud and devoted mother and mother-in-law of Cheryl of Port Dover, Rob and Judy of Simcoe and Dale and Helen of Simcoe. Cherished and loved Grandma of Dwayne and Nathan, Amanda and Jeremy, Austin, Kelsey, Jessica, Matt and Ashley. Dear sister of Isabell and her husband Vic Epple.
