Cameron, Henry George

Peacefully with family and friends at the Grey Bruce Health Services, Southampton, on Sunday, April 8th, 2001 in his 49th year, George Cameron of Saugeen First Nation. Beloved husband of Marie Mason. Dear father of Ciandra and her husband Mike Wynn of Saugeen First Nation, Honey and Sterling Ritchie of Saugeen First Nation, Sonia of Orillia, Tricia and Ryan Root, Rael and Trisha Mason, Rachel and Jason Lewis, Gary and Kim Mason, and Grant Kewageshig, all of Saugeen First Nation. He is also survived by his brothers Andrew Cameron and his wife Glenna, and William Jr., all of Saugeen First Nation and Larry Subject of Orillia, his sisters Julie Robichaud of Midland, and Joan Cameron and Eleanor Cameron, both of Saugeen First Nation, by eleven grandchildren, and by several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his mother Mary Cameron.

Friends may call at Wesley United Church, Saugeen First Nation from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday. Funeral service will be conducted in Sacred Heart Church, Scotch Settlement, on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with Father Frank McGee officiating.

Interment Sacred Heart cemetery.

Memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

Vigil service will be held at Wesley United Church, Saugeen First Nation on Wednesday evening at 8:30 p.m.

Fraser, Janet McTavish

At the Southampton Care Centre, Southampton, on Wednesday April 11th, 2001, in her 89th year, the former Janet McIntyre of Saugeen Township. Dear mother of Jack and his wife Shirley of Port Elgin, Harold of Saugeen Township, Donna of Stratford and Doreen of Toronto. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and by her brother Gordon McIntyre of Richmond Hill. She is predeceased by her husband Eldon, two daughters Dorothy and Lenore, one sister and three brothers.

A private family funeral service will be conducted at the W. Kent Milroy Paisley Chapel, 216 Queen Street, S., Paisley on Saturday with the Rev. Murray Rounding officiating.

Interment Paisley cemetery.

Memorial contributions to the C.N.I.B. or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

Storey, Charles "Wayne"

Charles Ernest "Wayne" Storey of Port Elgin, passed away April 4, 2001 in Southampton. Born November 27, 1910 in Toronto, the son of the late Charles and Barbara Storey. Wayne was the manager of Confederation Life Mortgage Dept., and a member of the Port Elgin United Church.

Survived by his children, Anne Palmer of Oshawa, and Brian Storey and his wife Bridget of Vancouver, BC.

Predeceased by his wife Madeline Todd, and son-in-law Neil Palmer. Dear grandfather of Douglas & Donna Palmer, Peter and Cathy Palmer, great grandfather of Kelly Palmer, Nichole Palmer.

Funeral Service was held on Tuesday April 10, 2001 from the W. Kent Milroy Port Elgin Chapel. Rev. Gordon Williams officiated.

Interment Sanctuary Park cemetery. Cremation.

Memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the Port Elgin United Church were appreciated.

Smith, Cyril

At the Grey Bruce Health Services, Southampton, on Thursday, April 19th, 2001, Cyril Smith of Southampton. Husband of the late Jean Stewart. Father of Nancy (Mrs. Wray Smith) of Southampton, Paul and his wife Terri of Kitchener, and Danny of Southampton. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandsons.

A graveside service will be held at Southampton cemetery on Tuesday, April 24th, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Gordon Williams officiating.

Memorial contributions to Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

McArthur, Jack

Peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 3rd, 2002 at the age of 86 years, Jack McArthur of Port Elgin, and life-long resident of Paisley. Husband of the former Mary Yuill. Father of Shirley and her husband Jack Fraser of Port Elgin, and Doug and his wife Margaret of Newmarket. Grandpa to Michael and Erica of Toronto, Steven and Melanie of Kitchener, David and Helen of Port Elgin, Dianne and Ron of Port Elgin, Jennifer and Jeff of Ancaster, Andrew and Wanda of Kamloops, B.C., and Allison of Newmarket. Great-grandpa of Christopher, Matthew, Elgin, Emma, Callan, Cole, and Nickolaus. He is predeceased by four sisters and four brothers.

Friends may call at the W. Kent Milroy Port Elgin Chapel, 510 Mill Street, Port Elgin, on Thursday, Sept. 5th from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be conducted in the chapel on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. John Baker officiating.

Interment Douglas Hill cemetery.

Saunders, Robert Walter

In Owen Sound on Saturday, April 21st, 2001, in his 71st year, Bob Saunders of Port Elgin and formerly of Toronto, husband of the former Betty Mitchell, father of Connie and her husband Paul Murphy of Barrie, Rob and his wife Lisa of Toronto, and Kelli Saunders and her husband Alex Milic of Toronto. "Grandpa Bob" to Bryan and Dawn Murphy. Predeceased by his daughter Linda in 1973, and one sister Ruth Russell.

Friends may call at the W. Kent Milroy Port Elgin Chapel, 510 Mill St., Port Elgin, on Monday, April 23rd, from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. Funeral service will be conducted in the chapel on Tuesday, April 24th at 2pm., with the Rev. Margaret Greenhow officiating.

A cemetery service and interment will be conducted at Beechwood cemetery , Jane St. and Steeles Ave., Toronto at 3:30pm Wednesday, April 25th followed by a reception in Toronto.

Mr. Saunders was the founder of Humbertown Travel in Toronto, and a Director of the American Association of Travel Agents for many years in the 1960's and 1970's. He served as a special consultant to the Ontario Government for the creation of the Ontario Travel Act, and orchestrated the Travel Compensation Fund within that Act. Bob served as an instructor in the Travel and Tourism Division of Humber College for seventeen years. He moved to Port Elgin in 1994, where he served as Treasurer of Camp Quality. He served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Victorian Order of Nurses, and was very active in the Literacy Group and the Propeller Club.

Masterson, Ronald Wesley

In Southampton on Sunday April 22, 2001, in his 81st year, Ron Masterson of Southampton, husband of the former Perlina Peach, father of Jack and his wife Shirley of Guelph, and Bob and his wife Marlene of Southampton. Grandpa to Penny Blair, and Richard, Robert and Kim Masterson. Also surviving are four great-grandchildren. Brother of Dorothy and her husband Bill Weber, Geraldine and her husband Reg McArthur, and Gladys and her husband Basil Eby. Predeceased by brothers Bill, Harold and Jack, and sisters Jean and Bernice.

Friends may call at the W. Kent Milroy Port Elgin Chapel, 510 Mill St., Port Elgin, on Wednesday, April 25th from 10 to 11pm. Funeral service will be conducted in the chapel on Wednesday at 11am., with the Rev. Margaret Greenhow officiating.

Percival, Winnifred Florence

At the Grey Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound, on Saturday, April 28th, 2001, surrounded by family, friends and the Rev. Gordon Williams, Winnifred “Winnie” Florence Percival of 998 Bricker St., Port Elgin, in her 60th year, after a courageous faith-filled battle with cancer. Wife of Bob Percival of Port Elgin. Mother of Rhandy Patton and his wife Beth of Collingwood, and Bonnie and her husband Glen Cah of Barrie. Grandmother of Leah, Christopher, Regan and Ryan Patton, all of Collingwood and Carly Patton of Barrie. Daughter of T. Clarke White of Hampton Court, Southampton. Sister of Gwen Turner of Dartmouth, N.S. She is also survived by one paternal aunt, Florence Gregg of Kincardine, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her mother Marjorie White.

A joyful memorial service will be conducted at Port Elgin United Church, 840 Bruce St., Port Elgin, on Saturday, May 5th, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Gordon Williams and Mr. Bob Johnston officiating.

Becker, Muriel Louise

At the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Chesley, on Monday, April 30th, 2001 in her 63rd year, the former Muriel Hagedorn of Paisley. Beloved wife of Gordon Becker. Dear mother of David and his wife Kathy of Halifax, N.S., Cindy and her husband Marc Gaudet, and Helen and her husband Marty Slezak, all of Paisley, Bette Anne and her husband Ralph Lipskie of Stayner, Barbara and her husband Joe Scott of Paisley, Lisa and her husband John Giardetti of Ajax, Heather and her husband Paul Bolton of Port Elgin, and Ken and his wife Angela of London. She is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, five sisters and four brothers.

At the Southampton Care Centre on Saturday, May 5th, 2001, in his 87th year, Jim Sumpton of Port Elgin and formerly of Chesley, husband of the former Ruby McArthur. He is survived by Ruby's family, Nancy and Donald McArthur, and granddaughter Karen. He is predeceased by his former wife Rita, and by his grandson Kevin.

Friends may call at the W. Kent Port Elgin Chapel, 510 Mill Street, Port Elgin from 7-9pm on Monday evening. Funeral service will be conducted from the chapel on Tuesday afternoon at 2pm, with the Rev. Julia Morden officiating.
