CRETEAU, Shirley - At the Belleville General Hospital on Tuesday, October 24, 2006 in her 86th year. Beloved wife of Terence P. “Terry“ Creteau. Predeceased by her brother and sister. A memorial service will be held at the BURKE FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 150 Church Street, Belleville on Thursday, October 26, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Quinte Humane Society or the Quinte Ballet School would be appreciated.

Joseph Henri Langevin

LANGEVIN, Joseph Henri - In his 81st year. passed away peacefully at Hastings Manor on Tuesday, October 24, after a lengthy illness. Joe is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jean (Lattone) and their children; Paul and Bonnie, Centreville, Cathy Durkin, Belleville, Peter and Theresa, Mackenzie B.C., Mary Jean Roblin, Peterborough, Michael and Pauline, Newcastle and several grandchildren. Fondly remembered by Owen Durkin of Read. At Joe's request there will not be a visitation or service. A private family memorial will be held at a later date. Anyone wishing may donate to either the Alzheimer's Society or Parkinson Foundation in Joe's memory.

Isabel MacWhirter

MACWHIRTER, Isabel - 1924 - 2006 - Our beloved mother and grandmother (Gandy), passed away in her sleep early Sunday morning in her eighty-third year. Survived by three children, Chuck (Fanella), Michael, and Sandy (Wes); eight grandchildren, Mandy, Sarah (Greg Royce), Katie (Chris Morrison), Maggie, Becky, Sean, Alan and Kaleigh as well as six great-grandchildren. Predeceased by parents, one brother and husband Keith. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully accepted. COOPER (Clark), Shirley May - Entered into rest October 25, 2006 at Peterborough Civic Hospital in her 67th year. Beloved wife of Vernon Cooper of Woodville. Loving mother of Kenneth (Kelly), Sheila, Terry (Dianne), Brenda (Terry) all of Lindsay. Grandmother of Crystal, Joshua, Jessica, Amanda, William and Anthony. Great Grandmother of Hailey. Remembered by nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her mother Jerean and father Ronald Clark of Havelock. Lovingly remembered by sisters, Judy and Arlene of Peterborough, Darlene, Marie and Muriel all of Norwood, and her brother Jimmy of Havelock. There will be a Memorial Service followed by interment at Eden cemetery on Wednesday, November 1st, 2006, 2:00 p.m. at Wise Choice Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 19 Moose Road, Lindsay, across from the Moose Lodge (corner of McLaughlin Road and Moose Road). Loving father of Gerry and his wife Vanessa, Raymond and his wife the late Joanne, Carl, Fr. Paul, Bernard and his wife Wanda. Cherished grandfather of Sarah, Christine, Ryan and his wife Kelly, Jacob, Hannah, Alyse, Brandon, Neil, Jared and the late Mark. Dear brother of Alice Heffernan, and Vincent. Brother-in-law of Laverne, Ferne, and Audrey. Predeceased by his parents Austin and Mary Fitzgerald, by his sister Agnes Steffler and brothers Fergus, Joseph, Francis and Redmond. Friends will be received at the NISBETT FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL, 600 Monaghan Rd., S., Peterborough on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and on Monday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Parish Prayers Sunday 4 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at St. John The Baptist (300 Wilson Street) at 11 a.m. Father Paul Hogan officiating. BROCK, Robert Lorne (Bob) - Peacefully at Mt. Sinai Hospital, Toronto, on October 22, 2006 in his 75th year. Bob was a devoted father to Brad (Leah) and Bobbie- Lynne and loving grandfather of Taylor Sophia. He is also survived by his sister, Anne, and remembered by his former wife, Julie. Cremation has taken place. At Bob's request there was a private family ceremony. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made in Bob's memory to the Ontario Lung Association (local branch) or to the charity of your choice.

Beloved wife of the late Eustache Leger. Loving mother of Doris and her husband John MacDonald, Laurie and his wife Delia, Florence and her late husband Garfield Wry, Arthur and his wife Pearl and Martin and his wife Verna. Fondly remembered by her thirty-two grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Dear sister of Della Brownell and predeceased by one sister and ten brothers. Survived by her brother-in-law Valerie Leger. Also survived by 5 nieces Connie, Rayanne, Jennifer, Mary and Brittney and 3 nephews Scott, Clinton, Billy and the late Christopher. Predeceased by 3 sisters Dianne, Judith and Pauline Rabishaw. BOOMHOUR, Verna B. (nee Doreen) - March 27, 1927 - October 27, 2006 - Peacefully at the Lennox & Addington Hospital in her 80th year. Verna is now reunited with her husband Randolph C. Boomhour. Mother of Larry C. Boomhour and good friend Bill and Bradley R. Boomhour and his wife Ruby. Grandmother to 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Survived by sister Shirley Reid and brother Bill Doreen. Predeceased by sister Jean Dawe and brother Victor Doreen. Resting at the McGLADE FUNERAL HOME, on Sunday between the hours of 6 - 9 p.m. Legion Service to be conducted in the funeral home Sunday night. Funeral service on Monday, at 11:30 a.m. in the Funeral Home. Interment Deseronto cemetery. Predeceased by his son Roger Sine. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren; Michael and Shari Reid of Kimberly B.C. and Angie and Brad Boomhower of Stirling, and his great grandchildren Cameron, Blaire , Ethan, and Reid. Dear brother of Geraldine and Bill Madill of Port Hope, Barbara Jeffs of Stirling, Edith and Maurice Bird of Frankford, Lyra and Harry Phillips of RR # 3 Frankford, brother in law Gordon Richards of Oshawa. Sister Catherine, CSJ Levair

LEVAIR, Sister Catherine, CSJ (Sister Alexandrine) - Sister entered into her eternal rest at Mount St. Joseph, Peterborough, Ontario on Friday, October 27, 2006 in the 74th year of her religious life. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Levair and his wife Mary Bielaskie of Killaloe, Ontario. Along with the members of her religious community she leaves to mourn her sister, Sister Anita Levair, CSJ of Pembroke and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brothers Walter, William, John, Joseph and Alexander. Sister Catherine received her nursing education in Kingston and Toronto. She nursed at St. Joseph's Hospital in Peterborough, Estevan and Parry Sound. Sister was director of nursing in Parry Sound for 25 years followed by 26 years in pastoral care. She retired to Mount St. Joseph in 2000. Visitation will be held at Mount St. Joseph, Peterborough on Monday, October 30th from 2:00 - 9:00 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Mount St. Joseph on Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at 10:30 am. Interment at St. Peter's cemetery. Arrangements are with COMSTOCK FUNERAL DIRECTORS.
