Sydney Prescott Spracklin
1921 - 2003

On Friday, February 28, 2003 at St. Lawrence Lodge, Sydney Prescott Spracklin at the age of 81 years. Beloved husband of Loretta (Fabbri) Spracklin of Brockville. Loving father of Sherrie Spracklin (Bob Cowan) of Brockville and Richard Spracklin (Darlene) of Prince Rupert, BC. Fondly remembered by grandchildren John Hook, Savonna Spracklin and Sydney Jacob Spracklin. Also survived by his niece Charlotte Reid, and nephews Don Spracklin and Ronald Fraser. Predeceased by his parents Lockyer Spracklin and Blanche Black and a brother Vincent Spracklin.

Family and friends are invited to a Ceremony in celebration of Sydney's life on Wednesday, March 5th at 11:30am at the Roselawn Tribute Centre, Roselawn Memorial Gardens, 2451 County Road 15, Maitland. Cremation to take place at the Roselawn Crematorium. In remembrance, donations to the Parkinson's Society or the Diabetes Association will be gratefully acknowledged. Entrusted to the care of Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville.

John Robert Lusby

Born in Beverley, Yorkshire on August 30th, 1925. Died peacefully at St. Vincent de Paul Hospital on Friday, February 28th, 2003. Survived by his wife Anne; his children Adrian and wife Lynda, Joanne and husband Christopher Sheedy, Juliet and husband Roland Lugthart, and Jonathan; by step-children Joanna and husband Derek Gibson and Paul Dyck. John is also survived by his grandchildren, Joe, Norah and Ben, and by his sisters Joan, Freda, Laura and Di in England. Predeceased by his first wife Jean.

At John's request there will be no service. John appreciated and was touched by the support he received from so many people. Friends are invited to share their memories at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 30th at the Brockville Arts Centre.

James Malcolm Frederick Campbell
1935 - 2003

It is with sadness that we announce Mac's death on Sunday, March 2nd, 2003 at his home in Brockville surrounded by his family. He died as he lived with great courage and strength of character. Dearly loved husband of Sally, devoted father of Shawn of Brockville, Jeffrey (Helen) of Ottawa, and dear brother of Robert (Marilyn) of Kingston.

Family and friends may pay their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Tuesday, March 4th from 2-4 & 7-9pm. In celebration of Mac's life a ceremony will be held at St. Peter's Anglican Church on Wednesday, March 5th at 1 o'clock. Cremation to follow at the Roselawn Tribute Centre and Crematorium, Maitland. Interment at a later date in the Roselawn Tower Columbarium. In remembrance donations to St. Peter's Church, or the Hospice of Providence Palliative Care will be gratefully acknowledged.

Evelyn Jean Volks
1926 - 2003

Peacefully at the St. Vincent de Paul Hospital, Brockville, on Wednesday, March 5th, 2003 at the age of 76 years. Beloved wife of Clifford Volks of Brockville. Loving mother of Robert Volks and his wife Janet of Winchester and Cheryl Mussell and her husband Bob of Brockville. Fondly remembered by grandchildren Kristopher and Chelsea Mussell, Derik Gates, Sara and Tyson Volks. Also survived by her sisters Maxine (Peg) Baldwin, June Hoy (Sherman) and Joan Ponting, by sister-in-law Evelyn Bell, a brother-in-law Roland Peacock and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Jessie and Leonard Bell, by brothers Ralph Bell, George (Sam) Bell, Lester Bell, Orland (Steve) Bell, and by a sister Clara (Betty) Baker.

In keeping with Jean's wishes, cremation will take place at the Roselawn Tribute Centre and Crematorium, Maitland, and a private service of committal will be held at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Family and friends are invited to a ceremony in celebration of Jean's life at Wall Street United Church on Tuesday, March 11th at 11am, with a reception to follow. In remembrance, donations to the Hospice of Providence Palliative Care will be gratefully acknowledged. Entrusted to the care of Irvine Funeral Home, 4 James Street East, Brockville.

Gerald Woodrow (Rosie) Hewitt
1919 - 2003

At St. Lawrence Lodge on March 4, 2003, Gerald Woodrow (Rosie) Hewitt at the age of 83 years. Beloved husband of the late Mona Hewitt. Loving father of Woodrow (Woodie) Hewitt of Dartmouth and Valerie Fountain and her husband James Metcalfe of Toronto. Also survived by five grandchildren Joy, Jill, Mark, Michael and Dana. Predeceased by a sister Winona Watkins.

Family and friends may pay their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Monday from 10 :00 - 11:00 a.m. with service in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Maitland. In remembrance, donations to Hospice of Providence Palliative Care will be gratefully acknowledged.

Lois Enid Nixon
1921 - 2003

At the Brockville General Hospital on March 5, 2003 in her 83rd year. Beloved mother of Karen Barnhart of Brockville, Larry of B.C. and Donald of Fredericton. Also survived by five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Predeceased by her son Ralph Nixon, and by brothers Mervin (Bud), Wilmer, Herbert, Gerald, Mansell and Milton Burns in infancy and by a sister Gwenith Fletcher.

A graveside service will be held at Oakland cemetery on Saturday at 11 am. In memoriams to the Leeds and Grenville Humane Society or The Hospice of Providence Palliative Care will be gratefully acknowledged.

Violet Thelma (Billie) Morrison
1913 - 2003

Peacefully at Brockville General Hospital on March 6, 2003 at age 89, Violet T. (Billie) Morrison (nee Williams of Cardiff Wales), beloved wife for 61 years of John C. Morrison , Elizabethtown. Survived by her husband, son Robert and wife Barbara of Mallorytown, son Richard and wife Elizabeth of Ottawa, and five grandchildren, Jennifer, Shannon, Karen, Courtney and Gavin. Predeceased by her parents, a brother and three sisters in Cardiff.

Family and friends may pay their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home & Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Saturday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. when service will take place in the Chapel. Cremation will follow at the Roselawn Tribute Centre and Crematorium, Maitland. Interment in the Columbarium, Oakland cemetery at a later date. In remembrance, donations to charities of choice will be gratefully acknowledged.

Michael J. Zaveda
1922 - 2003

At the St. Vincent de Paul Hospital, Brockville on March 8, 2003 in his 81st year. Beloved husband of Philomena (Phil) Zaveda of Brockville. Dear father of Bill and his wife Shirlee of Toronto and Michelle Zaveda of Brockville. Dear brother of Mrs. Mary Blain and Paul Zaveda and his wife Corinne all of Brockville. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a brother Peter and by sisters Sophie Barr, Jeanett Biss and Natalie in infancy.

Family and friends may pay their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East Brockville on Monday from 2-4 and 7- 9 pm. The Liturgy of the Christian Funeral will be celebrated in St. Francis Xavier Church on Tuesday at 10 o'clock. Interment will follow in St. Francis Xavier cemetery. In memoriams to the Hospice of Providence Palliative Care or the charity of your choice will be gratefully acknowledged. Recitation of the rosary will be held on Monday at 3 pm.

Juliane Camponovo
1903 - 2003

Formerly of Montreal. At St. Lawerence Lodge, Brockville, on Friday, March 14, 2003 in her 100th year. Predeceased by her parents Jules and Rose Camponovo, and by her niece Aileen Ossowski whose husband Erwin of Brockville survives. Fondly remembered by great nieces and nephews Michael Ossowski of Maitland, Patrick Ossowski (Lynn) of Charlotte, NC, Stephen Ossowski (Karen) of Toronto, Anne Marie O'Toole (Rich) of Chicago, and Andrew Ossowski (Ann Marie) of Charlotte, NC; and by twelve great-great nieces and nephews.

Private arrangements entrusted to the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville. Following cremation at the Roselawn Tribute Centre and Crematorium, Maitland, interment will take place at les Jardins Urgel Bourgie, Montreal. In remembrance, donations to the Hospice of Providence Palliative Care will be gratefully acknowledged.

Anna Marguerite Boyd Wilson
1915 - 2003

At the Rosedale Retirement Centre on March 15, 2003 in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the late W.J. (Bill) Wilson. Dear mother of William L. Wilson (Lorie), Ian Wilson (Judie), Robert Wilson (Ann) and Anne Huot (Guy). Dear grandmother of Cynthia Galpin (Randy), James Wilson, Heather Mortimer (Ben), Alex and David Wilson, and Julie and Richard Huot. Also survived by one great grandchild William Galpin, by her dear sister Mildred Lorimer, by nieces Martha McCord and Nancy Lorimer, and by her nephew Andrew Lorimer. Predeceased by her sister Edna Lorimer, and by her brother Arthur Lorimer and his wife Marion.

Funeral services will be held in the Chapel on Monday, March 24th at 11am. Interment will follow at Oakland cemetery. Robert Barry "Bob" Irwin
1930 - 2003

At his residence in Brockville on March 16, 2003; Robert (Bob) Barry Irwin in his 73rd year. Beloved husband of Marlene Hawkins Irwin. Dear father of Sharon Irwin (Michael Vassal) of Fort Smith N.W.T., Carol Irwin (Michael Caicco) of Aurora and Mark Irwin (Kim) of Toronto. Loving grandfather of Matthew, Adam, Aurora, Cole and Dalton. Also survived by his sister Gaye Spinney (Jim) of Apple Hill.

Family and friends may pay their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East Brockville on Tuesday from 7- 9 pm and on Wednesday from 12 noon until 1.30pm when funeral services will be held in the Chapel.
