BURLEIGH - Gwen of R.R.#1 Belmont, on Monday, November 16, 1998, at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, in her 86th year. Beloved wife of Charles E. Burleigh and dearly loved mother of Spencer and his wife Merna Edison. Predeceased by a daughter Diane Edison and a son Leroy Edison (Jan. 1997). Dear mother-in-law of Marie Edison of Keswick. Dear sister of Ken and his wife Frances Earnshaw of Aylmer and Ruth Fulton of St. Thomas. Sadly missed by 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a grandson. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas where funeral service will be held Thursday at 1:00 p.m. Cremation. Visitation Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the charity of choice. A tree will be planted by Williams Funeral Home as a living memorial to Gwen.
HILL - Barry D. (Santa) Hill. Passed away with his family by his side on Monday, November 16, 1998. He was in his 61st year. Barry was an employee of the C.N.R. for 40 years. Beloved husband and best friend of Dorothy Hill. He will be sadly missed by his children and grandchildren, Ellen Mahlberg (Chuck Cummings) and son Shawn, of Monteith, Robert Hill (Cindy) and son Michael of Oshawa, Paula DiDomenico (Danny) and sons Brandyn and Cody of London, Debbie Craven (Dave) and children Heather and David of London, Diane Lang (Harold) and children Alison and Andrew of London. Loving brother of Tim Hill (Marilyn)of Woodstock, Darlene Wellinghoff (Wally) of Miami, Florida, David Hill of London. Brother-in-law of Doris Hill of Victoria, B.C. and Rosalie Branagh (Ted) of St. Thomas. Step-brother of Norm Hobbs (Virginia) of London and Marjorie Irwin (Chuck) of Calgary, Alberta. Predeceased by his parents Lilly and Paul Hill, his step-father Norm Hobbs and his brother Paul. He will be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Barry was active for 25 years in hockey and fastball in London and surrounding areas, as well as being Santa Claus for the past 15 years. Friends will be received by the family from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the A.Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London. Funeral service will be conducted at All Saints Anglican Church, 249 Hamilton Road at Inkerman Street, London on Thursday, November 19th at 11:00 a.m. with the Venerable A.H. Skirving and Reverend Tim Hill officiating. Interment in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, London. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of Parkwood Hospital, 801 Commissioners Road E., London N6C 5J1 or All Saints Anglican Church, 249 Hamilton Road, London, N5Z 1R2.
JONES - C. Milton of R.R.#1 Union on Tuesday, November 17, 1998, at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, in his 73rd year. Beloved husband of Ruth Lucille Jones and dearly loved father of Shirley Anne and her husband Larry King of Leamington, Marian Elaine Jones of London, Norma Jean and her husband Leonard Jones-Eaton of Embro and Kenneth Arthur and his wife Penny Jones of R.R.#1 Union. Dear brother of Verna and her husband Carl Withenshaw of St. Thomas. Loved grandfather of Michael, Pamela, Matthew, Amanda, Jason, Becky and Jamie and great grandfather of Ashley. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas where funeral service will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. Interment Union Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario. A tree will be planted as a living memorial to Milton by Williams Funeral Home.
JENKEN - At her residence on Monday, November 16, 1998. Eleanor Geraldine Jenken of R.R.#1 Belmont in her 73rd year. Beloved wife of the late Hiram D. Jenken (1993). Dear mother of Bev Jenken of R.R.#1 Belmont and Connie Stevens and spouse Doug Esler of Belmont. Loving grandmother to 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Also survived by a brother Leroy Richie and wife Evelyn of London. Friends may call at the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Thursday 7-9 p.m. and Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 21, 1998 at 1:00 p.m. Interment, Aylmer Cemetery. Rebekah Lodge service will be held Friday 7:00 p.m. and Eastern Star service will be held Friday at 8:00 p.m. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
KILGOUR - At St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Tuesday, November 17, 1998. Elizabeth (Lyla) Kilgour of Aylmer in her 84th year. Beloved wife of the late William Kilgour (1984). Dear sister to Frances Bastedo and husband Harry of Freehold, New Jersey, Robert Gillespie of California and Douglas Gillespie and wife Virginia of Freehold, New Jersey. Sister-in-law to Lela Anderson of Duluth, Minnesota, Mary Kilgour of Melford, Saskatchewan, Levina Kilgour of Springfield and Louise Kilgour of Aylmer. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Friday, November 20, 1998 at 11:00 a.m. Interment, Aylmer Cemetery. Donations to St. Paul's United Church would be appreciated.
