We are devastated to announce the unexpected death of Teresa on Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at the Heart Institute. Teresa passed away emotionally supported by her partner Emma and Teresa’s sisters Monica and Phyllis. She was continuously held in the prayers and thoughts of her family, friends, hospital staff and colleagues near and far, while at the Heart Institute. Teresa will always be cherished by her partner Emma Brummelhuis and sisters Phyllis (Helmut), Pat (John), Monica (Murray), Rebecca (Dennis), her sister-in-law Shelly, her brothers Steve (Anna May) and George. She was proud to be a special Aunt to Sean, Peter, Julie, Elizabeth and Cara. She will be missed by her Alberta family – Cory, John, Tony, Petra, Wesley, Stuart, Leah, Ellen, Harold, Dennis, Colin, Jan, Susanne, Miriam; Aunt Alice and numerous cousins in Scotland; Aunts, Uncles and Cousins in Sault Ste. Marie; colleagues at MDS Nordion, many special friends in Ottawa, across Canada, the U.S.A. and many countries abroad. Teresa was predeceased by her parents Peter and Elizabeth and her brother Peter. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the fourth floor nurses at the Heart Institute for their care and support. A celebration of Teresa’s life will be held at Beechwood Cemetery, 280 Beechwood Avenue on Tuesday, April 25, 2006 from 1 pm to 4 pm (Tribute at 2 pm). In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.

Elle laisse dans le deuil, outre ses enfants, sa soeur Clarice, ses petits-enfants Isabelle (Ken), Martin et Roxane (Ivo), ainsi que les autres parents et amis qui ont fait un bout de chemin avec elle. La famille recevra les condoléances à la chapelle St-Laurent de Hulse, Playfair et McGarry, 1200, chemin Ogilvie, Ottawa, le mercredi 19 avril, de 14 heures à 17 heures et de 19 heures à 21 heures; et le jeudi 20 avril à compter de 9 heures. Le service religieux sera célébré le jeudi 20 avril, à 10 h 30, en l'église Notre-Dame de Lourdes, Vanier, 435, chemin Montréal, Ottawa. Gabrielle était une source d'inspiration et d'admiration, une épouse dévouée, une mère énergique, une grand-mère attentive, une femme aimante et accomplie. On Saturday, April 15, 2006 at the Ottawa Civic Hospital aged 93 years. Born on October 31, 1912 in Westmount, Quebec. Son of J.W. Belisle and his wife Ann (nee Barron). Loving husband of the late Jacqueline (nee Piché) and devoted father to Denise, he was also predeceased by his older borther Roger. After graduating from the Faculty of Commerce (H.E.C.) of the University of Montreal (1938), he enlisted and served as an artillery officier in WWII; upon his return, he joined his family's firm and after retiring from business, he served as an officier of the Tax Court of Canada, until he finally retired at age 70. In his later years, he joined the Y.M./W.C.A. where he made many friends and remained an active participant until the end of 2005. Private funeral. Donations to the Seniors' Program of the Downtown Y.M./W.C.A. or the Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Passed away peacefully at the Ottawa General Hospital, Monday, April 10th, 2006 at the age of 83. Loving husband of Yvonne (nee Pinsonnault). Loving father of Ellen (Peter McAuslan) and Nancy (Douglas MacDonell). Cherished grandfather of Chelsea and Chloe. Dear brother of Ruth Parmelee (Jack). Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Alec was a hard working Chartered Accountant for over 56 years. He will be sadly missed this tax season and on the golf course. A special heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Dialysis Unit at the Ottawa General Hospital. The family would also like to thank the many doctors and nurses on the 7th Floor Northwest for all their exceptional care and support. Gen ret'd, MD July 31, 1921 to April 20, 2006 In hospital on Thursday, April 20, 2006. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy Frances. He is survived by his children Tom (Marilyn), Pat (Susan) Mike (Donna) and Susan (Brian MacLean); his grandchildren Michael, Morgan, Aaron, Mark, Amy (Chris MacQuarrie), Graham and Michelle, and his great-grandchildren Zachary, Olivia, and Taryn. Born in Dryden, Ontario, and at the age of 19, in 1940, joined the RAF. As a pilot in WWII he served in England, Malta, North Africa and Italy. On his return from WWII he entered medical school at the University of Toronto, then transferred to the army and served in the Korean War as a doctor. In 1964 he received his specialty in anesthesiology. He was a career military man who held positions in Whitehorse, Winnipeg, Pensacola, Toronto, Halifax and Ottawa. He retired as a Brigadier General and his final posting was Commandant of the National Defence Medical Centre in Ottawa where he retired in 1977. He continued his career with the Department of Veterans Affairs for several years. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Anglican Church, 2345 Alta Vista Drive on Monday, April 24, 2006, at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
