ARNOT, Anne Peacefully at Peterborough Manor, October 8, age 92. Wife of the late John Arnot. Mother of James (Asta), Mary Anne Davidson (Alex) of Lakefield and David (Elaine) of Toronto. Predeceased by infant son, Ian. Grandmother of seven including Dr. Alison Arnot (Stephen Johnson) of Mississauga, Ian Arnot (Laura-Lee) of Nepean and Robert Arnot (Sandy) of Mississauga and great grandmother of thirteen including Sara and Kristen Arnot of Nepean. Private family celebration of Anne's life will take place in Peterborough on October 15th.

BROWN, Dorothy Orlean (nee Carr) At home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, October 8, 2000 Dorothy (Carr) of Metcalfe in her 74th year. Beloved wife of Stuart Brown. Dear mother of Ron (Ruth), Ralph (Janice), Lorna (Peter Bailie) and Dianne (Wayne Denison). Loving grandmother of Sonya, Kim, Cara (John Lahey), Tim (Lisa), Mathew, Tania (Geoff Wall), Tammy, Jesse and Blake and great-grandmother of Maddie, Kira and Cassidy. Dear sister of Jean (Ken Nugent) and Arlene (Alvin Davidson). Dorothy requested a thank you be expressed for the comfort provided by her many caregivers and friends. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Duncan Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre, 6971 Bank Street, (formerly Highway 31, between Scrivens Drive and Metcalfe Corner) from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral Wednesday in the Chapel for Service at 11 a.m. Interment Ramsayville cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the Osgoode Township Home Support Program or Metcalfe United Church would be most appreciated.

CASEY, Madeleine (nee Soubliere) passed away in a local hospital, on October 10th, 2000 at the age of 81. She is survived by her husband, John Casey, 2 sons: Tom (Adele Jolicoeur) of Orleans, Den (Sandra Mowat) of London, England; 4 grandchildren: Kristina (Mark Simonson), Annik, John and Andrea; 2 sisters: Lucille (Marcel Barbier) of Montreal, Jeanne Soubliere Masse of Hull. She also leaves 1 sister-in-law Audrey Casey of Ottawa. Also survived by many nephews and nieces. VISITATIONS: Thursday, October 12th from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. FUNERAL SERVICE: to be held on Thursday, October 12th at 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. CHAPMAN, Dr. Ross A. Peacefully, at home on Sunday, October 8, 2000 in his 87th year. Beloved husband of Jean McBain Currie. Loving father of Karen of Ottawa and Currie (Dale) of Calgary. Dear grandfather of Jordan and Christie. Dear brother of Keith (Betty) of Madison, Wisconsin, Doug (Marg) of Kingston and Helen of Brockville. Ross had a long distinguished career with the Department of Health and Welfare, Food and Drug Directorate from 1948 to 1973. He served as Assistant Deputy Minister from 1965 to 1971. His last two years of service were spent as Director General of the International Health Services. He received an honorary Degree of Science from the University of Guelph in 1971 and the Underwood-Prescott Memorial Lectureship from MIT in 1972. A Memorial Service will be held at the First Unitarian Church, 30 Cleary Avenue on Thursday, November 2, 2000 at 3 p.m. For those wishing, in memoriam donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.

DIXON, Helen A. On Wednesday, September 27, 2000 at the Queensway-Carleton Hospital. Beloved wife and dearest friend of Michael for 54 years, in her 88th year. Helen, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. S.A. Butland. Loving mother of George (Lea), Jeffrey (Esther) and devoted grandmother of Jennifer, Robert and Rebecca. Dear sister of Myrna of New Hampton, Iowa and the late Edgar. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Former President of the Sinawik Club. She was a member of Westboro United Church since 1948 where she taught a Sunday School class for many years and later served as accountant and auditor for the United Church Women. Friends may visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue at Richmond Road, after 1 p.m. Friday, October 13, 2000 until the Service Time in the Chapel at 2 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Westboro United Church Memorial Fund, 450 Churchhill Avenue, Ottawa, K1Z 5E2.

DUVE (nee Odden), Kathryn Evelyn Kathryn Evelyn Duve fought with grace and courage until her passing onwards, Sunday, October 8, 2000, at the age of 73. Originally from Turin, Alberta, Mrs. Duve had been living in Chilliwack, BC, since 1984. From January of this year, Mr. and Mrs. Duve stayed with their daughter and son-in-law during the extent of her illness. Mrs. Duve is survived by her loving family: her husband Ernest Duve, daughter Lillian Dagher, her son-in-law Mr. Michel Dagher and the loves of her heart, her grandchildren Elias and Duve, all of Ottawa. A memorial service will be held in celebration of the life of Kathryn Duve on Thursday, October 12, at 6:30 p.m., at the Parkwood Presbyterian Church, 10 Chesterton Drive, corner of Chesterton and Meadowlands Drive. In lieu of flowers it would be appreciated if any donations would be made to the Palliative Care Outreach Program, 1455 Woodroffe Avenue South, Nepean, Ontario K2G 1W1. We wish to thank Dr. Susan Gick and nurse Aileen McGuire for their excellence and compassion in the care of Kathryn Duve. We express our appreciation to the VON and the Registry of Nurses for their consistent care and understanding. We further extend our gratitude to Ann Kennedy RN, who gently eased Mrs. Duve into the arms of Jesus during her final hours. Thank-you Saint Charbel for your guidance, love and mercy. Jean was predeceased by her beloved husband of 49 years, Basil and her son-in-law Ross. Memorial Service to be held at Ross Funeral Chapel, 135 Walton Street, Port Hope, Ontario, 2 p.m. Friday, October 13. Interment and tea at Starks Corner United Church, 1:30 p.m. Saturday, October 14. KASZAS, Francis Steven (Frank) It is with profound regret that the family of Francis Steven Kaszas announce his passing. Frank was born August 4, 1926 at the Ottawa Civic Hospital, the place he took his last breath. Son of Francis Steven Kaszas and Dorothy Curley and brother of Dorothy (Chisholm), predeceased by his parents as well as by his beloved daughter Sheila. Remembered with love by his four surviving children, Stephen (Kathryn Armstrong), Katherine (Paul Dunlop) and his brave and wonderful Candace and Penelope who were with him at the end. Mother of his children Sheila Kaszas Secord and her husband Donald Secord mourn his passing. He was a proud grandfather to Jane, William, Christopher, Alanna, Stephen, Kassandra, Hallie and Elizabeth. An old world "gentle-man" whose wit was lengendary, Frank's courtesy, consideration and courtliness were vestiges of a bygone age. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street on Wednesday, October 11, 2000 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel on Thursday, October 12, 2000 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Society in memory of his daughter Sheila. An extra special thank you to all the nursing staff and caregivers at the Ottawa Civic Hospital.
