Passed away on Friday, March 16, 2012 at the age of 59. Loving father of Philippe (Andrea). He will be sadly missed by his sisters : Francine Carrière (Jean) and Denise Stone, as well as many nephews, nieces and friends. Predeceased by his parents François and Alberta Beaudoin. Went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 5, 2012 at the age of 88. Predeceased in death by beloved first wife Doreen(Tyler), daughter Marguerite (Bing Hum), grandson Stephen(Smith) brother Earl, sister Onadell. Survived by loving wife Ellen. Loving father of Kathleen (Harry Diaczyk), Graham (Helen), Melanie (Paul Saunders), Kevin (Debbie) and Louise (Ark Yee). He will be sadly missed by his 19 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren, his brother Allen (Audrey), as well as by many nephews, nieces and friends. Cardenas Jr. , Narcisco

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Narciso Cardenas Jr on Friday, March 2, 2012 at the age of 79, surrounded by his family, after persevering through a courageous battle with cancer. The loving husband of wife Annie, the proud father of Narciso III, Tony (Marc), Mila (Greg), Marilou (Clarke), Luis (Angie), and Bernie (Chris), and dear brother of Avelina, the late Flordelis, and Dolores. Narciso Jr. leaves behind a legacy of 10 inspired grandchildren: Melissa (Jonathan), Nicholas, Chelsey (Alex), Marie Heather, Luisa, Stephen, Brandon, Bernadette, Analyssa, and Courtney, who were honoured to enjoy their Lolo's story-telling and worldly advice. The family would like to thank the staff at the 5 East Oncology Unit at the Ottawa General Hospital. A special thanks is extended to the caregivers Ray, Pierre, and Jimmy, for their care and compassion. Friends may pay their respects at the Heritage Funeral Home, 2871 St Joseph Blvd., Orleans on Thursday, March 15th from 7pm-9pm. A memorial mass will be held on Wednesday, March 7th at 11 am at Divine Infant Parish, 6658 Bilberry Dr., Orleans with interment to follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery, then reception in the Divine Infant church hall. Peacefully on March 1st in her 62nd year after a courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by her parents George and Mary Siteman (nee Whalen) and sister Theresa Booth. Lori was a loving and devoted wife to husband Lorne, loving mother to her daughter Marcia Pascal (Dan) and son Christopher (Melanie Campeau), and cherished grandmother to Kylie, Cassidy and Holly. Lori will be lovingly remembered by her sister Geneva Murphy (Lloyd) of Fredericton, brothers Cyril Siteman (Janet) of Falmouth, Nova Scotia and James (Jim) Siteman (Mary) of Toronto, brother in law Dennis Nash, and sister in law Ardith Nash of Winnipeg. She will fondly be remembered by her nieces and nephews. Lépine, Jean-Claude (J-C)

Passed away peacefully at home in Orleans at the age of 75, on February 29, 2012, in the tender care of his family. Devoted husband to Hélène (Dugal), loving father to Gilbert (Susan McKiel), Carole (Bill Rascoe) and Pierre (Ana Reis). Brother to Paulette and Robert (Claudette Godin) and predeceased by parents Charles Eugène and Berthe (Rochon), brothers Gérald (Pauline Denault), Richard (Carole Larocque) and Raymond. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Crystal, Kevin, Amy, Christopher, Dene, Pierre, Michael and Ann-Marie and great grand-daughter Odesa. Jean-Claude proudly served in the air force and retired from Loeb after 29 yrs of service. He was happiest at the cottage at Lac Schryer where he enjoyed collecting various items, playing golf, poker on Monday afternoon, bowling and the company of good friends on any day. He was a friend to all that met him, strong and reliable to all that knew him. He leaves us with an abundance of love and memories. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to CCAC, Paramed, Dr. Séguin and Jodi. Sheskay, Katalin

Katalin Sheskay (née Pinter) passed away suddenly Thursday at the age of 61. She was the spouse of Glen Sheskay, mother to Glenn (Heather) and proud grandmother of Evan and Brendan. She was predeceased by her father, Steve Pinter. She is survived by her mother, Katalin Duda, her sister, Susan Willis (Gregg), her brother, Steve Pinter, and her nieces: Sara (Bill), Ashley (Lee), Kayla and Amanda (Joe). Katalin was well known as a community leader, advocate and fundraiser. She has been an Ottawa Catholic School Board Trustee since 2006. She has worked with many charity and volunteer groups including Habitat for Humanity, the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation, the Beechwood Cemetery Foundation and the Waupoos Foundation. She was recognized for her community involvement many times including being awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal in 2002, the United Way Community Builder Award in 2005 and the Women of Distinction Award from the YMCA/YWCA in 2006. She touched many lives and will be missed. Visitation will take place in the Sacred Space of the Beechwood Cemetery National Memorial Centre 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa, on Thursday May 24th from 1:00 p.m. until the Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. A reception will follow from 3:00-5:00 p.m. in the Borden and Fleming suites. Given her passion for helping others, in lieu of flowers a donation to the charity of your choice would be appreciated. (23/05/12)

Labreche, Lynn

Passed away the morning of the 15th of May at her home and place of business in Orleans, Ontario, after a valiant battle with Jejunum Cancer. She was an owner and operator of Steadys Catering. Lynn was a creative and accomplished chef of healthy food. She was a good-humoured, fun, loving, caring, dedicated person, who put others first. The Wish Foundation, Shepherds of Good Hope and many other charities benefited from her food donations. Predeceased by her loving widwo Rejean. She is survived by her parents Marion and Norman Lawrence ; sisters : Norma Domey and Marium Page ; brothers Glenn and Sheldon Lawrence. Lynn will be joining her husband in heaven, Rejean Labreche. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Daryl on Friday, May 11th, 2012, age 69, after a valiant battle with liver cancer. Loving husband and best friend to Theresa (nee Belanger) for an amazing 45 years. He was a most wonderful father to Kim Beaudoin (Denis) and Nancy D’Aoust (Edward). The best grampa to his wonderful three bears that he loved so much, Selena (Punky Bear), Amanda (Cupie Bear) and Joshua (Buddy Bear). They will always remember all the good times they spent building camp fires and catching their first fish with grampa. He also leaves to grieve his brother David and his sister Patricia. He was a brother-in-law to Paulette (Flo), Raymond (Liette) and Linda (Robert). He was the son of the late Christopher and Lillian Grierson. Passed away peacefully on April 29, 2012 in her 90th year, with family by her side. Anna was a gentle free spirit whose kindness touched so many during her remarkable life and we thank you all for your love and support. Whiteley, Richard Vernon

It is with sadness that the family of Richard Vernon Whiteley announces his passing at home in Ottawa on April 26, 2012, at age 96. Born in England in 1915, Dick moved to Canada as a child, spending his youth in Toronto, Guelph, and in the north where he helped build Highway 60 through Algonquin Park. He was a veteran of WWII, a Life Member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Seaforth Br. 156. He eventually settled with his family in Seaforth. He was a science teacher, spending some time in the West Indies, and finished his career as Vice-Principal of Clinton District High School in 1978. He loved to fish and spent many winters in Florida. He is predeceased by his wife, Margeurite (Johnson) (1995), his parents Frederick Whiteley (1918) and Effie Gott (Bennett) (1968), and one brother Alec (WWII ). He is lovingly remembered by his children, Rick & Carol Whiteley of Haliburton; Jack & Roxanne Whiteley of Ottawa; Pat Whiteley of Sudbury; and Kathy & Ted Scott of Waterloo. He took great pride in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Sean Whiteley & Leslie Stedlbauer, and Olivia; Erin Blanchard, Hunter and Castin; Jessica & Alex Morsink, and Callia; Jenna Whiteley & Nick Latreille; Annie Lafrance; Jill & Matthew Snyder, Leah, Janae and Esther; Carly Scott & Chris Palmer. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration Memorial will be held Sunday May 27, 2012 at the Royal Canadian Legion, 19 Regina St N, Waterloo 1-4pm.
