The death of Helen Dirks, age 90 years, occurred at Oliver Lodge, Saskatoon on December 17, 2015. Helen is survived by three children: Karen (Gary) Reimer; Stan (Marlene) Dirks; Laura (Rob) Penman; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; siblings and in-laws: Roland (Agnes) Jeschke, Marlin (Betty) Jeschke, and Donald (Rosalee) Jeschke. She was predeceased by her husband, Abram Dirks (2000); parents, Ernest and Eva (Schmidt) Jeschke; and two sisters and one brother. The Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Salem Church, Waldheim, SK. Interment will take place at Salem Cemetery. The death of Brian Vadnais, age 69 years occurred on April 3, 2016. He is survived by his sons, Ronald (Arlana) Vadnais with children Carys and Micah, and Cameron (Abi) Vadnais; 9 siblings, Allen, Lorne, Rose, Joyce, Arnold, Lenard, Robert, Blaine, and Sharal; Cecilia’s family, Dominic (Vivian) Kowalczyk, Ed (Linda) Kowalczyk, Darlene (John) Wyman, and Darren (Renay) Kowalczyk; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Cecilia Vadnais; parents, Richard & Catherine Vadnais; and parents-in-law, Peter & Nora Kowalczyk. The Prayer Vigil will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at 7:00 P.M. The Mass of Christian Burial will be con-celebrated by Bishop Bryan Bayda and Fr. Marvin Lishchynsky on Friday, April 8, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. Both services will be held at St. John Bosco Roman Catholic Church, 1202 Avenue O South, Saskatoon, SK. April 7, 1971 – December 9, 2015
Timothy (Tim) Davis, age 44 years of Waldheim, SK passed away peacefully at Rosthern Hospital on December 9, 2015. He is survived by his wife, Tracy Davis; children, Mackenzie (Orrin Hamm), and Jacob; parents, Paul & Virginia Davis; in-laws, Dave & Marie Carmichael; sister, Jolene (Tim) Hofstra, and their daughter Shyla; brother, Dan (Karen) Davis, and their daughters Kyla and Nicole; brother-in-law, John Carmichael (Carrie Cardinal), and their children Brooke, Johnny, Ty; good friends, Tim & Michelle Rachey, and their children Aiden & Bode. He was predeceased by his sister, Michelle Settler, and his grandparents. A celebration of life will be held in spring. Katharina Penner (nee Peters) was born on June 22, 1926 to Klaus and Katharina Peters. She reached the age of 89 years, 8 months and 16 days. She is predeceased by her husband Wilhelm Penner; brothers John Peters and Jake Peters; sister Mary Hamm; sister-in-law Annie Peters; and brothers-in-law John Neufeld and Abe Buhler. She leaves to mourn, her children, Bill (Marilyn) Penner, Nick Penner, Jake Penner, Gloria (Ernie) Unger, Dave (Phyllis) Penner, Danny (Susan) Penner, Jean (Rod) Janzen; 24 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; sisters Eva Ashdown, Margaret Buhler, Anna Neufeld; brother Klaus (Lena) Peters; and sisters-in-law Anne Peters and Herta Peters. The Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Gruenthal Church, Gruenthal, SK with Pastor Kelly Hildebrandt officiating. Interment will take place in Gruenthal Cemetery. The death of Irene Andres, age 88 years of Rosthern occurred on December 8, 2015 at the Rosthern Hospital with family by her side. Irene is predeceased by her husband George Hiebert, her son Daniel, her daughter Gena, brothers Art (Grace) Bergman, and Elmer Bergman. Irene is survived by husband Ed Andres; 3 daughters, Marlene Hiebert, Lyla Wood, Doreen (Gordon) Montgomery; 2 step children, Carol Miller, Rick Andres; 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, brother Bill (June) Bergman; sister-in-law Darleen Bergman and extended family. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 11, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at the Rosthern Mennonite Church with Rev. Craig Neufeld officiating. February 8, 1923 – March 19, 2016
On March 19, 2016 our mom was called to her home in heaven. Cecilia (Ginger) was born February 8, 1923 in Duck Lake, oldest child of Graziella and Willie Doucette.
She leaves to mourn her four children: Lionel (Elaine) Baribeau, Elaine (Richard) Wirges, Gisele Nogier, Jocelyne (Tony) Panas; her twelve grandchildren: Marc (Elyn) Baribeau, Colin (Lexie) Baribeau, Lisa Dawn Baribeau, Neil (Jessie) Baribeau; Rob (Corinna) Wirges, Roydon Wirges, Ryan Wirges; Patrick (Lori) Nogier, Wayne (Renee) Nogier, Laurie (Kent) Staniforth, Kari Nicolas, Sheldon Nicolas, as well as her 9 great-grandchildren and 5 step great-grandchildren; four sisters: Florence, Yvette, Raymonde and Rosemonde.
She was predeceased by Alex, her husband of 68 years, and a great-grandson, Nicolas, three brothers: Leonard, Aurele and Gilles and two sisters, Maggie and Geraldine.
Celebration of Cecilia’s life will be held Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church, Duck Lake, SK. Interment of her ashes will take place in the Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Cemetery, Duck Lake, SK.
