- Shop now for incredible insights into your wellbeing -ROSS - Ralph Herbert (Herb) of Duhamel, Alberta and winter resident of Apache Junction, Arizona passed away suddenly at Duhamel on Saturday, September 13, 1997 at the age of 77 years. Herb was born September 29, 1919 in Camrose, the eldest child of Alex and Ada (nee Johnson) Ross of Brigend Farm. Left to cherish his memory are, his loving wife of over fifty-three years, Marian (nee Ryning); one son Tom of Duhamel; five daughters, Beverley Ross of Edmonton, Louise Welsh (Jim) of Skookumchuck, B.C., Shirley Ross (Richard Davy) of Edmonton, Dorothy Weimer (Allan) of Wimborne, and Linda Ross of Calgary; three granddaughters, Louella Scott of Edmonton, Dawnaca and Alisa Weimer of Wimborne; and five great-grandchildren, James, Mark, Mathew, Alex and Morgan. Herb is also survived by a brother Gordon (Hazel) of Lethbridge; a sister Donna Freeman (Charlie) of Stettler; brothers and sisters-in-law, Frances Duquette (Duke) of Calgary, Bill Ryning (Kuni) of Lethbridge, George Ryning (Doreen) of Calgary, John Ryning (Betty) of Rowley, Dorothy (Don) Borwick, and Ruth (Albert) Rieb of Calgary; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. A Memorial Service in celebration of Herb's life at the Camrose United Church (corner of 50 Street and 48A Avenue) Wednesday, September 17, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Eileen Greaves and Rev. Faye Greer officiating. SCOTT - Leslie Eleanor Scott, age 83 years, passed away at the Fanning Centre, November 21, 1997. Beloved mother and mother-in-law of Lynne (Allan) Paul and Jamie Scott of Calgary, she is also survived by three grandchildren, Brad and Brent Connors, and Kevin Scott. A Celebration of Life will be held at the residence of Lynne and Allan Paul, 88 Woodmont Drive S.W., on Tuesday, November 25 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to Calgary Humane Society, 1323 - 36 Avenue N.E., Calgary, AB T2E 6T6. SEAMAN - Donna Marie, beloved wife and best friend of Dennis, passed away at the Rockyview Hospital on November 12, 1997. She is also survived by her daughter Lisa; sons, Shane, Jody and Kelly; grandchildren, Chelsea, Alyx, Brittany and Casey; her sister Susan Hills (Bill); niece Sarah and nephew Jessie; special aunt Bella Eden; daughter-in-law Sue Chambers; sister-in-law Deb Seaman; as well as several other relatives in British Columbia. Donna was born in Vancouver in 1942 and moved to Calgary where she attended Viscount Bennett High School and the University of Calgary. She taught with the Calgary Board of Education until she left to raise her family. Her special loves in life included family, especially children, friends, animals, plants, the ocean, reading, art and science. A life lived in kindness, gentleness and unconditional love is the precious legacy she leaves to family and friends. We mourn our loss but are grateful her suffering has ended and she can now walk peacefully in the fields and along the shores of eternity. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff in I.C.U., Unit 61, Unit 74 and the P.R.E.P. Unit at Rockyview Hospital for their efforts and compassion in caring for Donna. Special thanks to Dr. Ziegler and Dr. Manderson. A private family Memorial Service, as Donna requested, will be held in the near future. SEATON - Dorothy Seaton, aged 94, passed on suddenly at the Foothills Hospital on December28, 1997. She was predeceased by her husband Roy in 1989 and her brother Fred in 1980.Dorothy will be sadly missed by her daughter Valerie (Patrick) Scholefield, with whom she lived for the past eight years; her son David (Margaret) Seaton, Taunton, England; and five grandchildren, Duncan, Fiona and Alistair (England), Robert and Deborah (Calgary); as well as many friends and relatives. A Memorial Service will be held at the St. Andrew's United Church, 128 - 1 Street East, Cochrane on Saturday, January 3, 1998 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army or the Cochrane Humane Society (12/31/1997).
SEDDON - Johanna Seddon of Calgary, passed away at the Bethany Care Centre on June 21, 1997 at the age of 83 years. She was predeceased by her husband Jack in 1990. A Family Graveside Service will be held at Mountain View Memorial Gardens at a later date. SOBKOWICH - Kenneth. On Tuesday, January 7, 1997, Kenneth Sobkowich of Mandeville, Louisiana passed away. Beloved husband of Marlene Plaska Sobkowich; father of Michelle Sobkowich, Marcie S. Litchfield and Marnie Sobkowich; son of Steve and Ada "Nellie" Lewis Sobkowich of Canada; brother of Irene Sobkowich. Also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. WILLIAMSON - Mr. Robert (Bob) Williamson, beloved husband of Mrs. Faye Williamson of Madden, Alberta, passed away on Sunday, July 6, 1997 at the age of 65 years. Bob was born at Dog Pound, Alberta on May 25, 1932. He was very involved in rodeo, and had the honor of being chosen as the F.C.A. Cowboy of the year in 1989. Bob served as president to the (then) Canadian Oldtimers Rodeo Association. Until the day of his passing, Bob remained very active in rodeo. Bob dearly loved his family and the ranch. Besides his loving wife, Bob is survived by his family, Debra McKean and Marcel Hermary of Penhold, Tim and his wife Patty, Cliff and his wife Stacy, all of Madden, Alberta; five grandchildren, Dusty, Shilo, Jarrett McKean, and Paige and Blake Williamson. Bob is also survived by two brothers and three sisters, Anita Wood of Carstairs, Nelson and his wife Brandee of Calgary, Corrine and her husband Don Leask of Dog Pound, Alberta, Alta and her husband Jim Backs of Alhambra, Alberta, and Den Williamson and Audrey of Cochrane, Alberta; as well as numerous other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Jim and Kathleen Williamson, and an infant brother.
