- Shop now for incredible insights into your wellbeing -SHULER - Lillian (Lil) Hazel Shuler (nee Bell), beloved wife of forty-three years of David Alison Shuler of Calgary, passed away at the CareWest Sarcee Nursing Home on Tuesday, July 22, 1997 after a lengthy illness. Lil was born in Apohaqui, New Brunswick on September 11, 1912. She worked for The Bay for twenty-six years, retiring in 1968. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Besides her loving husband, Lil is survived by two sisters, Marjorie Campbell of Kimberley, B.C. and Vera Brown of Lethbridge, AB; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Gordon Bell. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S "Park Memorial Chapel" (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.), on Friday, July 25, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. with Mr. Arnie Chamberlain, Chaplain of CareWest Sarcee Auxiliary Hospital and Nursing Home officiating. SHULZ - S. Kim (Vernon). Kim passed away October 20, 1997. The kind and gentle mother of Christopher, David and Timothy; sister of Else, Martin and Lorraine. The most important time in her life was to remain home and raise her sons. Kim graduated from St. Michael's School of Nursing and spent thirteen of her happiest years nursing in Calgary. She spoke lovingly of co-workers Luleen, Ewa, Nancy, Debbie, Ramza, Cory and Barb Endman who were so supportive and made a difference in her life. She had a special love for Sharon, Connie, Cory and Hal and her beloved Dustin, Lucas and Jackson. She missed Reg, her loving compassionate friend and Donna, an earth angel, both who passed away before their time. Nieces and nephews, Jill, Brent, Terry, Dan, Kevin, Michael and Rachell and their partners and loved ones held a special place in her heart. She will miss Merle - longtime friend who always made the good times better and the hard days easier. She felt fortunate to have Sandi and Joe and Yvonne as caring neighbors. She will miss Bethany residents John and Ruth. Kim openly stated her opposition to violence against women, and wished to see men taking a stand with men and working to end violence and terror against men, women and children. She was involved in MADD and the Women's Shelters, and 745 Faint Hope Clause. Kim loved the out of doors, wildlife - the sun - and the peacefulness of the farm along the creek at Millarville, the precious hours with Martin, Lorraine and Else. For those living with Lupus she offers her compassion and hope. Thanks to Dr. Diane Wilson, Dr. Cynthia Farvolden and nurse Janet. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 25, at 1:30 p.m. at the Triwood Community Association, 2244 Chicoutimi Drive N.W. SIEGL - Maria, aged 73 years, of Calgary, passed away November 6, 1997 at her residence. Beloved mother of Maggie Flynn (Neil), St. Albert, Hans Siegel (Anna Mae) of Houston, Texas. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Mark Siegel, Carla-Marie Peebles, Tania Nahulak, Brandy Flynn, Michael Nahulak and Melody Flynn. Born in Vienna, Austria, she came to Edmonton, Canada in 1952. She was President of the United Ostomy Association of Canada and devoted many years to improving the quality of life for Ostomates worldwide. SIKORSKI - Joseph Sikorski of Maple Ridge, B.C., passed away September 30, 1997 at the age of 64 years, after a brief struggle with cancer. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife Ann; daughter Candace (John Suk) of Richmond, B.C.; his son Trevor (Geraldine) of London, England; his mother Dora Bancarz of Calgary; and many other relatives and friends. Joe was born in Wynyard, SK, and lived in Calgary for over thirty years. He was involved in the energy industry having worked for Amoco Canada. Later on he started Sikorski Seismic until retiring five years ago. Memorial Service Saturday, October 4 at 11:00 a.m., Northside Chapel, Port Coquitlam, B.C. SILVER - Mrs. Evelyn Lillian Silver, beloved wife of Maurice Silver for over fifty-four years, passed away peacefully on September 7, 1997 at the age of 75 years. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by Maurice; her son Arthur and his wife Kory; her brothers, David Davids of Medicine Hat, Hymie Davids and his wife Mickey of Lethbridge; her sister Doreen Gorlin and her husband Len of Rancho Mirage, California; and her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her cherished son Leonard Marc in 1991, and her parents, Ida and Abraham Davids. Evelyn was a life member of Aliyah Chapter of Hadassah-Wizo and Beth Tzedec Synagogue. She was a very special, loving, caring person who always had a smile and a kind word for everyone she met or knew. She was famous for her kufals and chicken soup and had a talent for making everyone feel at home. She will be greatly missed by her large extended family of friends, their children and grandchildren. WILSON - Mrs. Leona Frances Wilson of Sylvan Lake, formerly of Calgary, passed away after a lengthy illness, at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on May 31, 1997, two months shy of her 80th birthday. Leona is survived by her husband Jack "John"; one daughter Dona (Gordon) of Sylvan Lake; three sons, John (Jodi), Rick (Donna) and Alan (Shelly) of Calgary; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; also three brothers, Walter, Frank, and Neil Bailey and their families; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Leona was predeceased by her sister Elnora in 1982. Leona's art and community services have given many a lifelong memory. Her spirit will be with us forever. A Service of Remembrance will be held from the Chapel of the Sylvan Lake Funeral Home, 5019 - 47A Avenue, Sylvan Lake, on Monday, June 9, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Bob Wilson officiating.
