Grace's incredible strength and love will be sadly missed by daughter Clydine Grenier and son-in-law Al, and her grandchildren, Rosemarie (Neil) Hansen, Neil, Shawn (Deanna) Hicks, Bradd and Brenda Hicks, Scott and Jacques Grenier; great-grandchildren, Christopher, Linden, Tyler and Tayler; and friend Wayne Hicks. Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Grace was predeceased by her husband Clyde. One of her many talents will always remain in her paintings she shared with friends and relatives. A private Family Memorial will be held at Mountain View Memorial Gardens on Friday, October 24 at 3:00 p.m., with Interment to be in Halifax (10/23/1997).
LYNN-GOESON - Gordon Douglas (Lynn) Goeson, of Turner Valley, passed away on September 6, 1997 at the age of 16 years. Gord is survived by his loving parents, Jennie and Jim Goeson of Turner Valley; two brothers, Darwyn and Randy; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Gord was predeceased by his grandparents and numerous aunts and uncles. Gord was born in Whitehorse, Yukon on June 12, 1981. He attended school at the Foothills Composite High School in Okotoks. CRUSE - Johnny passed away suddenly on November 14, 1997 at the age of 76 years, after a long illness. He is survived by his loving wife of forty-four years, Pearl; daughters, Janet Alheit and Susan (Greg) Baker; grandchildren, Johnny, Jacqueline and David. He is also survived by a sister Andree and brothers, Raymond and Tony. Johnny was born on January 21, 1921 in London, England and enjoyed a long career as a professional musician in both Britain and Canada, starting at age fourteen. He served with the R.A.F. Cairo Area Military Band during World War II. In 1953, he emigrated to Canada to serve with the military bands of the Lord Strathcona Horse and P.P.C.L.I. regiments until 1971. Upon leaving the military service, he opened the "Johnny Cruse Drum Shop and Studios". He was a life member of the Calgary Musicians Association, was principal percussionist with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra for ten years, and taught countless private students from 1953 to 1980. In later years, Johnny enjoyed fishing, travel to England, and the company of his grandchildren. CSOPAK - Mrs. Ethel Csopak of Calgary, passed away at the Cedars Villa Nursing Home on December 11, 1997 at the age of 78 years. She was born October 19, 1919 in Mandok, Hungary and immigrated to Canada in 1956. Ethel moved to Calgary in 1957 and has resided here ever since. Ethel was the loving mother of a daughter and son-in-law, Eva and Tibor Matusak; and two grandsons, Anthony and Alexander, all of Calgary. She is also survived by her brother Joseph Halasz of Australia. Ethel was predeceased by husband Antal in 1989. CUMMING - Donald Angus Cumming, passed away peacefully on 6 July 1997 at Saanich Peninsula Hospital after a long illness. Born in Toronto on November 13, 1920, Don is survived by his wife Thelma; sons, Robert (Anne) of Victoria, and Ian of Calgary; a brother Gordon (Betty) of Toronto, and sister-in-law Marion MacKinder of York, England. He is also survived by grandsons, Robert, Kevin, Trevor, Alex and Morgan; granddaughter Stephanie; three nephews and two nieces. Don was a member of Gizeh Shrine Temple, Sidney Shrine Club and the Janizaries Marching Unit. Many thanks to Dr. E. Cadger and Julie Duhame for their kindness and understanding. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 18 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Paul's United Church, 2410 Malaview, Sidney, B.C. CUNNINGHAM - Wayne Grant. On Monday, December 29, 1997, Mr. Wayne Cunningham died in the Royal Alexandra Hospital after 68 years of life. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Mabel; his children, Roger (Anita), Patricia, Donald (Brenda) and Christine (Mario); and grandchildren, Christopher, Cheryl, Barry, Lori, Kate and Milana. He also leaves one brother Leo (Terry), and several nieces and nephews. He will be loved and remembered always.
