MCDOUGALL - Nellie. On June 14, 1997, Mrs. Nellie McDougall of Calgary passed away at the age of 81 years. Survived by her loving husband Ray; daughter Noreen of Edmonton; two grandchildren, Glen (Bev) and Sandy (Brant) of Edmonton; three great-grandchildren, Adam, Jake and Shanea of Edmonton; two sisters, Bernice and Connie. MCAULEY - Kathleen (Kae) Mary (nee Boyle) died peacefully at Foothills Hospital on Friday, November 14, 1997 of a stroke. Kae was born on June 16, 1920 in Brandon, Manitoba and resided in Calgary since 1958. Kae's family, friends and church were the focus of her life. As wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother she was a loving, generous pillar of strength for the McAuley family. Here religious faith and her self-less devotion to helping others also played an important role in her life. Kae was a faithful member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church and an active member of the Ladies' Guild. She also enjoyed her activities with the Heritage Seniors and her Tuesday afternoon bowling league. Kae is survived by Bill, her husband of fifty-five years; sons, Murray (Sue) and Rob (Kathi) McAuley; daughters, Pat (Duane) Tritter and Betti-Rae (Larry) Toole; grandchildren, Marcy (Piotr Stazselis), Dana, Cassandra and Michael McAuley, Shea (Nicole) Tritter, Laura and Colin Toole; great-grandsons, Kyler and Brayden Tritter, all of Calgary; sisters, Frances (Adam) Lawson of Brandon, Sadie (Hugh) McAmmond of Edmonton; brother Charlie Boyle of Brandon; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. Kae was predeceased in 1978 by her grandson Jason Paul Tritter. A life lived in kindness, service and unconditional love is the legacy Kae leaves to family and friends. She will be lovingly remembered in our hearts. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. William Fletcher and the wonderful staff at the Foothills Hospital Heart & Stroke Investigation Unit (Unit 112), the Emergency Room, and the EMS technicians for their kind and compassionate care. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 703 Heritage Drive S.W., Calgary. Interment will be held at her final resting place in Brandon, Manitoba (date to be determined). McCAIG - Mrs. Stella May McCaig of Calgary, passed away on June 10, 1997 at the age of 87 years. Born November 17, 1909, in Berea, Kentucky, Stella moved with her family to Drinkwater, Saskatchewan in 1911. She married John W. (Jack) McCaig in 1925 and the family moved to Moose Jaw in 1929. While in Moose Jaw, Stella was active in St. Andrew's United Church, the Eastern Star and many other community and charitable organizations. In Moose Jaw, Stella developed Crescent Valley Pony Acres, where she bred and trained champion Shetland Ponies, which she showed throughout western Canada. She also trained and showed her own Palomino Mare "Golden Miss Muffet" to Grand Champion at the Royal Winter Fair in Toronto. After moving to an acreage near High River in 1980, she continued to involve her family and grandchildren with her horses, ponies and dogs. At the time of her passing, she was living at The Renoir in Calgary. She was a warm loving friend and teacher to her children and grandchildren. She instilled a love and caring for all animals to those whose lives she touched. Stella will be lovingly remembered and great missed by her sons, John R. (Bud) and his wife Ann, and Maurice W. and his wife Nicole; and grandchildren, Jeffrey McCaig and his wife Marilyn, JoAnn McCaig, Roxanne McCaig, Jane McCaig, Dawne Clark and her husband Graham and Debra Weltzin, all of Calgary, Melanie McCaig of Toronto, John McCaig of Victoria, Mark McCaig and his wife Jillian of Kelowna, and Michael McCaig of Vancouver; as well as fourteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Sylvia and Dr. Maxwell Smart of Abbotsford, B.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Stella was predeceased by her husband Jack, daughter Jeanne, son Roger, granddaughter Dana, sister Vernice, and brother Robert. MCCALLUM - George McCallum, formerly of Langley, B.C., beloved husband of Mrs. Mary McCallum of Calgary, passed away at the Colonel Belcher Hospital on October 27, 1997 at the age of 75 years. Mr. McCallum was awarded an honorary life membership by the Stony Plain Meridian Lodge (Masons). He was a member of the Al Azhar (Shrine) Temple AAONMS, Shrine Mounted Patrol, and then became involved in Harness Racing and Standardbred Horses. Mr. McCallum was the race secretary of the Northland Park in Edmonton and the Calgary Stampede Park. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Dan Kitchen of Fort St. John, B.C.; and two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Jacki McCallum of Calgary, and John and Susan McCallum of Stony Plain; three grandchildren, Brad and Tamara Campbell, and Devin McCallum; and three great-grandchildren, Joshua, Thomas and Jenna McCallum and their mother Pam, all of Calgary. He is also survived by a brother Jim McCallum of Calgary; and a sister Anne Burden of Medicine Hat; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. McCallum was predeceased by a grandson Dana McCallum, three brothers, Hector, Slim and Archie, and a sister Alma. McCARTHY - Mr. John (Jack) McCarthy passed away peacefully on Monday, September 8, 1997 at the age of 80 years. Jack was known as a very optimistic and caring person. His understanding, compassion and love for his fellow-man will be greatly missed by his many friends and golfing buddies. Before his retirement Jack worked for the C.P.R. as an apprentice instructor at Alyth. Jack is survived by his loving daughter and son-in-law, Gayle and Bruno Arena; and his grandson Robert "Buddy". He will also be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his faithful companion Betty Sawyer and her family; daughters, Sue and Beth; son Gordon and many other relatives. Jack is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Vi, and their children, Bill, Maureen, and their families. MCCOUBREY - Allison (Al) McCoubrey, beloved husband of Mrs. Marlene McCoubrey of Airdrie, passed away suddenly at his residence on June 2, 1997, at the age of 75 years. Al was born on May 1, 1922 in Sydney, Nova Scotia. He moved to Calgary in 1951 and married Marlene in 1953. Al managed hatcheries in Calgary for most of his life, retiring from Chinook Belt Hatcheries in 1983. Besides his loving wife, Al is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Randy, Kevin and Kim, Barry and Janice; a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Perry Nitz, all of Calgary; four grandchildren, Kyle, Kelcie, Samantha and Rochelle. He is also survived by two brothers, Harry and Richard McCoubrey of P.E.I.; and two sisters, Irene McAdam and Marjorie McCoubrey, both of St. John, New Brunswick; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son Bradley in 1961 his parents, Harry and Carrie McCoubrey, a brother Rex, and two sisters, Audrey and Ruth. MCCOY - Margaretta (Etta) Theresa (nee Hodgson) of Calgary, passed away peacefully at Cedars Villa in Calgary on June 17, 1997 at the age of 86 years. She is survived by two sons, Brian (Lucy Gorman) McCoy of Nepean, Ontario, and Terry (Gayle) McCoy of Calgary. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Benjamin, Martin and Evan of Nepean, Ontario and Erin, Jennifer, Ted and Matthew of Calgary. Etta was predeceased by her husband Ted in 1989, her parents, Benjamin and Anne Hodgson of Vernon, B.C. and her sisters, Ruth McKim and Joyce Richards.
