DAWSON - Gladys Elsie Dawson passed away June 10, 1997 at the Rockyview Hospital at the age of 91. Funeral Services will be held at MOUNTAIN VIEW FUNERAL CHAPELS, Olds, June 13, 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Canon Linton Westman officiating (6/12/1997).

CRAWFORD - Christopher James Crawford, beloved son of Jonathan and Kathy Crawford; and Wayne Price, passed away at the Alberta Children's Hospital on Thursday, June 12, 1997 at the age of 13 years. It is with immeasurable sadness that we announce the death of our cherished son Chris. He will be greatly missed by his parents, Jonathan and Kathy Crawford, and Wayne Price; his sister Kailee; his grandparents, Harvey and Georgina Plaxton, and Mary Crawford; his aunts, uncles, cousins, and all his countless friends, both young and old. Chris was a unique, creative, caring individual and a very special part of the lives of many. We are blessed to have known Chris during the time he was with us. His memory will live on in the hearts of all that knew him. We entrust his spirit to our ancestors, that his spirit will live on for eternity, until we meet again. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S "Crowfoot Chapel" (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.), today, June 16, 1997 at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Dean Shingoose of the Native Christian Assembly officiating. HAGEL - Margeretha (Margaret) Eva Hagel, of Great Falls, Montana, passed away at the Columbus Hospital, on November 19, 1997, after a long and hard fought battle with cancer, at the age of 71 years. Margaret resided in Great Falls for the past thirty-one years, working at the Columbus Hospital in Medical Records. She retired after twenty-six years of service. Margaret is survived by one brother Marcus Hagel; two sisters, Agnes Schmaltz and Bertha Bourbonnie, all of Calgary; and numerous nieces and nephews as well as many friends in Great Falls. Margaret was predeceased by her parents, Anton and Rosa as well as seven brothers, Peter, Edward, Alphonse, Anthony, Jacob, Frank-Joe, and Leo, and one sister Rose Knieval. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S "Chapel of the Bells" (2720 Centre Street North), on Monday, November 24, 1997 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be concelebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church (Beiseker, Alberta) on Tuesday, November 25, 1997 at 11:00 a.m. with the Very Rev. Leonard J. Hagel, the Rev. James Hagel and the Rev. John Petravicius, Celebrants. Graveside Service to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery (Beiseker, Alberta). If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society, Second Floor, 215 - 12 Avenue S.E., Calgary, Alberta T2G 1A2 or directly to the charity of your choice. MCCRACKEN - Duncan James McCracken. Duncan McCracken, graduate Professional Engineer from the University of Alberta was retired thirteen years from Nova Corporation after employment of forty years by Polysar. He was born December 23, 1918 at Medicine Hat, Alberta, son of Duncan and Jennie McCracken and died Sunday, November 30, 1997. He met and married Marjorie (Abel) in Sarnia where his children, Scott, Jennifer (Moore) and Rebecca were also born. One grandchild, Kaitlin Rebecca, was born to Jennifer and Will Moore in January of 1996. His work served as his hobby which led him to overseas assignments in Mexico, England and Belgium culminating in the building and management of the Polysar Bioxidation plant in the final year of employment. Since retirement he was actively involved in the regulation of the Great Lakes, by serving as President and Vice-President of the International Great Lakes Coalition, President of the Canadian Great Lakes Coalition, and President of the local Chapter in the Coalition for the Regulation of the Great Lakes. Funeral Services will be conducted by the Rev. John Torrance of Central Baptist Church at STEWART FUNERAL HOME, 254 George Street, Sarnia at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 3, with Visitation from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 2. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or charity of choice (12/2/1997).

MCDONALD - George T. (Born March 19, 1912 George E.C. Macdonald). Passed peacefully at Colonel Belcher Hospital in Calgary on Monday, June 23, 1997. A Royal Canadian Air Force veteran, George was predeceased by both his beloved wives, Earla in 1960 and Marjorie in 1990. He is survived by his brother Alec of Tucson, Arizona; his children, George, Lynn, Janet, Rob, and Sheila, and their spouses; and four grandchildren; and by his extended family, Janet and David Bruneau and Lorne and Lou Smith, their six children, and six grandchildren. Special thanks to the staff of the Colonel Belcher Hospital for the compassionate care our father received. As one of the original residents of Kanerva House, George will be honoured with a Memorial Service to be held at Kanerva (2945 - 26 Avenue S.E., Calgary), on Friday, June 27, 1997 at 2:00 p.m., following a private Interment. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Second Floor, 215 - 12 Avenue S.E., Calgary, Alberta T2G 1A2. In living memory of George McDonald, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES "Park Memorial Chapel", 5008 ELBOW DRIVE S.W., CALGARY. (6/25/1997).

DARROCH - Helen, aged 87 years of Calgary, passed away at the Sarcee Auxiliary Hospital in Calgary on July 6, 1997. Helen was predeceased by her husband Aubrey and her parents, Arthur C. Ruby and Ella Mae Ruby of Calgary. She is survived by her daughter Margaret Jean of Turtleford, Saskatchewan; and by a sister Jean of Calgary; and a brother James of Vancouver; and by six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Helen was a former member of Parkdale United Church and the Nifty Fifties Social Club of Calgary until her illness. A Memorial Service will be held at FOSTER'S FUNERAL HOMES "Garden Chapel" 3220 - 4 Street N.W., on Wednesday, July 9, 1997 at 3:00 p.m. Cremation. If friends so desire, memorial donations can be made directly to the Alzheimer Society of Calgary, 1920 - 11 Street S.E. Calgary, Alberta T2G 3G2. FOSTER'S FUNERAL HOMES, Garden Chapel Directors. DAVIDSON - Marjorie Katherine Davidson passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Hospital on December 28, 1997, three days prior to her 87th birthday. She was predeceased by her husband Stanley Harris, her sister Emma Wakeford, and her grandson Gary Davidson. Her love and laughter will be greatly missed by her two sons and their wives, Frank (Shirley) Davidson, Jim (Mae) Davidson; five grandchildren, Linda (Bob) Carver of Strathmore, Cheryl (Ron) Ferguson of Three Hills, Wendy (David) Buck of St. Albert, Brenda Davidson of Calgary, Rob Davidson of Three Hills; nine great-grandchildren; brother Frank (Alma) Griblin from Vancouver. Interment will be at Mountain View Memorial Gardens, Calgary, Alberta, at 10:30a.m. on Friday, January 2, 1998, followed by a Memorial Service from the Bethel Evangelical Missionary Church in Three Hills at 2:00 p.m. As per her request, memorial tributes may be made directly to S.T.A.R.S. Air Ambulance, 1441 Aviation Park N.E., Box 570, Calgary, ABT2E 8M7. MOUNTAIN VIEW FUNERAL CHAPELS, Three Hills, entrusted with arrangements. (12/31/1997).

DAVIES - Dale Kenneth Davies, was called home to be with his Lord and Saviour on June 16, 1997 at the age of 46 years. Dale is survived by his beloved wife Donna of twenty-seven years; his children, Tara, Kyla, Steven, Melissa, and Aaron; his parents, Ken and Mabel Davies; and his brothers, Wayne (Velvet), Brian (Donna), and Pat (Ali). Viewing of the body will be possible on Thursday, June 19, 1997 at MacPHERSON FUNERAL HOME in Cranbrook, BC at 2200 - 2 Street South from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held in Cranbrook, BC at New Life Centre Foursquare Church, 308 - 10 Avenue South on Friday, June 20, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cranbrook Foursquare Women's Ministry at 308 - 10 Street South or the Canadian Cancer Society. "God saw you getting tired, And a cure was not to be, So He wrapped you in His loving arms And whispered, 'Come with Me.' You suffered much in silence, Your spirit did not bend, You faced your pain with courage, Until the very end. You tried so hard to stay with us, Your fight was all in vain, God took you in His loving arms, And saved you from all pain (6/18/1997)."

DAVIS - Lou Harry Davis, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully on October 26, 1997 at the Beverly Centre for Long-Term Care at the age of 77 years. Lou is survived by his wife Eva; his daughter Gail Sidorsky and her husband Brian; and his cherished grandchildren, Faye Bellerose and her husband Roland, Ryan Sidorsky and Laura Sidorsky. He is also survived by his step-children, Adam and Robbie Moscovitch; his sisters, Sara Hochman and her husband Sam, Annette Gordon and her husband Louis, and Rosetta Isenstein; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Lou was predeceased by his first wife Faye Ellenberg in 1969. Lou was born September 25, 1920 and spent his early years in Rockyford, Alberta. At the age of nineteen, Lou voluntarily joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and after the war commenced employment at the Calgary Shoe Hospital where he worked for over thirty years. Lou was an avid supporter of Israel and a founding member of the Shaarey Tzedec Synagogue, president of the Zionist Men's Club, a member of B'Nai B'rith, and the Jewish War Veteran's Organization. Lou will be lovingly remembered for his love and devotion to his family. He was a kind and caring man who always placed the welfare of his family first. He will stay forever in our hearts as our beloved Zaida. Funeral Services will be held at the Jewish Memorial Chapel (1702 - 17 Avenue S.W.), today, October 28, 1997 at 11:30 a.m. Interment to follow at the Jewish Cemetery (30 Avenue and Erlton Street S.W.) Arrangements in care of the CHEVRA KADISHA of CALGARY, 1702 - 17 Avenue S.W. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made to the Jewish National Fund, 1607 - 90 Avenue S.W., Calgary, Alberta T2V 4V7 (10/28/1997).
