FERGUSON - Joan Ferguson of Calgary, passed away peacefully at the Southwood Nursing Home on November 23, 1997, at the age of 74 years. Joan is survived by three children, Barry, Dan and his wife Lori, and Connie; as well as eight grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband Terry in 1986. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S "Park Memorial Chapel", (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.), today, November 26, 1997 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen's Park Cemetery. In living memory of Joan Ferguson, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, "Park Memorial Chapel", 5008 ELBOW DRIVE S.W., CALGARY. (11/26/1997).

FERREL - David Richard Ferrel passed away on Saturday, November 29, 1997 on a ski trip in Kananaskis. He was born on February 6, 1980. David lived every minute of his life to the fullest. He was taking his Grade Twelve at Western Canada High. David loved his friends and spent his final time with some of them. He was an avid athlete and participated in hockey, golfing, curling, hiking and snow-boarding. He also worked part-time at Strathcona IGA. He loved music and played the violin. David is survived by his parents, Delores and Wayne; his brother Benjamin; and his grandparents, Dave and Anne Ferrel of Abbotsford, BC, and Richard and Ann Strang of Macklin, SK. He also has numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and, of course, his very precious friends. The Family invites you to join in a Celebration of his Life at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 2 for Prayers at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 4716 Worcester Drive S.W. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 3 at St. Michael's, with The Very Rev. Leonard J. Hagel, VF, Celebrant. Cremation will follow at Calgary Crematorium. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations can be made directly to Western Canada High School, c/o Physical Education Department. ESKELAND - Thomas Oscar of Stavely, Alberta, passed away on December 11, 1997 at the age of 73 years. Funeral Services will be held at LEYDEN'S "Chapel of Remembrance" Claresholm, Alberta on Saturday, December 13, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. LEYDEN'S FUNERAL HOMES LTD., Claresholm "A Golden Rule Member", Directors of Services. ESLER - November 23, 1900 - December 20, 1997 Gladys Esler (nee Spear) passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 20, 1997. Gladys was born in Ontario and moved west to Rosetown, Saskatchewan to marry Nat in March of 1928. They homesteaded south of Biggar for most of their married lives. She was very resourceful, taking up midwifery, a small retail store, a matron for a nursing home and many real estate ventures. Her final years were spent at the Brentwood Nursing Home with much thanks to Lee and staff for making her life comfortable. Gladys is survived by her daughter Pearl (Harold) Hagen; son Lloyd (Sally) Esler; four grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. Her husband Nat and grandchild Lionel predeceased her. Gladys' family will miss her dearly, but her memory will live long in our hearts. A Private Family Service will be held to mourn her passing. EUSTAQUIO - Esperanza "Espie" Fajardo Eustaquio, passed away at the Foothills Hospital on Tuesday, July 15, 1997 at the age of 75 years. Espie was born on August 25, 1921 at Bustos, Bulacan, Philippines and has resided in Calgary since 1980. She is survived by her daughter Estrellita of the Philippines; three sons and daughters-in-law, Dante and Nelida of Philippines, Danny and Dhee, and Dennis and Nitz, all of Calgary; and sixteen grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Arturo (Tuding) and Danding (Mely); three sisters, Celing San Juan, Lita (Lino) Tan, and Mila (Ben) Tolentino; and several other relatives and many friends. Espie was predeceased by her husband Demetrio in 1978, her sisters, Asuncion and Fely, and her granddaughter Jean Danielle. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Pierson's Funeral Home, 4121 - 17 Avenue S.E., Saturday, July 19, and Sunday, July 20 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Prayers will be held Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 1414 Shawnessy Boulevard S.W. on Tuesday, July 22 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Thomas Vadassery, Celebrant. Cremation will follow with final Inurnment taking place in the Philippines. The family wish to express their sincere gratitude to the Doctors, Nurses and staff of Units 32, 27 and the Peritoneal Teaching Unit of the Foothills Hospital, Unit 56 of Rockyview General Hospital, Home Care, Baxter Company and Dr. George Barr. EVANS - Edna, passed away in Calgary on Tuesday, September 9, 1997, at the age of 87 years. Born in Blairmore, Alberta on December 28, 1909, she grew up in the Crowsnest Pass. She attended Normal School in Calgary in 1926 and began her teaching career at the Olin Creek School, north of Cowley in 1927. She continued to live and teach in the Crowsnest Pass until moving to Calgary in 1959, where she taught mathematics and science in several schools until her retirement in 1969. Throughout her life, she pursued her interest in horse racing at Stampede Park. Another love, was travel with her close friends, with frequent visits to Las Vegas and Reno, and occasional trips to far away places including the Orient, England and Hawaii. She will be remembered as one who loved to socialize and would never turn down a good game of "Stop the Bus". She is survived by her husband Idris; son Donald, daughter-in-law Judy, and grandchildren, Corey and Stephen. For those who would like to attend an informal gathering of family and friends, please call 286-4184. JUDD - Irene May Judd of Calgary passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 26, 1997 at the age of 72 years. She is survived by her loving husband Harvey; three children, David (Hillary), Marilyn (Paul), Gordon (Priscilla); six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two brothers, George and Sam; as well as numerous relatives and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at Varsity Acres Presbyterian Church, 4612 Varsity Drive N.W. Calgary, AB, on Thursday, October 30, 1997 at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Irene's memory may be made directly to the A.L.S. Society (Lou Gehrig's Disease), 1920 - 11 Street S.E., Calgary, AB T2G 3G2. Arrangements and Cremation entrusted to PERSONAL ALTERNATIVE FUNERAL SERVICES, 7016 Farrell Road S.E.

FEDORUK - Vera Anne Fedoruk (nee Svarich) passed away peacefully in her home on June 24, 1997 in Victoria, B.C. She will always be remembered by her sons, Dennis and Nestor (wife Hilary); and dearly missed by grandchildren, Laura, Nancy, Karen and Brandy Fedoruk. Vera is survived by sisters, Helen (Fred) Resler, Nadia McKean and Staffka Makofka; brother Nestor (June) Svarich; sister-in-law Patricia Svarich; and brother-in-law Fred McConnell. Predeceased by her husband Eli, her parents, two brothers, and three sisters. Prayers Sunday, June 29, 1997 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Vladimir's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Vegreville. Funeral Service Monday, June 30, 1997 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Vladimir's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Vegreville, Very Rev. M. Sawchenko officiating with Interment in Riverside Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined, donations, if desired, may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 10985 - 124 Street, Edmonton, T5M 0H9 or a charity of one's choice.
