EVANS - Irene Evans passed away at the Oilfields General Auxiliary Hospital on June 6, 1997, at the age of 89 years. Irene is survived by two sons, David (Donna) and Milton (Shirley) and by her daughter Alice Melvin. She is the loving grandmother of Donald (Pat), Daryl (Bev), Cam (Lindy), Stuart Evans, Kelly (Kevin) Kerr, Michelle and Jim Melvin; and a great-grandmother to nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Bob Rickett of Calgary. She was predeceased by her husband Elwyn in 1984 and her sister Myrtle in 1993. Irene derived a great deal of personal satisfaction from being a school teacher and conversing with her former pupils. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral Services will be held at Christ Church, Millarville, Alberta on Thursday, June 12, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements are entrusted to MOUNTAIN VIEW CEMETERY AND FUNERAL HOME, 17 Avenue S.E. at Garden Road (3 km East of 68 Street S.E.). (6/9/1997).

EVEREST - Olive Everest (nee Lefenko) passed away peacefully at the Peter Lougheed Centre on September 30, 1997 in her 79th year. Beloved wife of the late Charles Everest; and dear mother of Ron and his wife Irene, Gordon and his wife Marty; and daughter Charlene. She is survived by her grandchildren, Tom and Terri-Jo, James, Rob, Mary, Sarah, and Peter. Charlie and Olive enjoyed many years of travel, photography, mountain climbing, hiking and snow-shoeing together. They especially enjoyed winters in Mexico. Grace be to you, and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES "Park Memorial Chapel" (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.), on Saturday, October 4, 1997 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Hillhurst United Church (1227 Bowness Road N.W.), on Saturday, October 4, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Karen Holmes officiating. Graveside Service to follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens. FERRIS - October 29, 1997, Doris Madelian Ferris (nee McKenzie), aged 70 years, of Calgary. Doris was predeceased by her husband Delbert on April 12, 1991 and a great-grandson Mackenzie Wong on November 11, 1995. She will be dearly missed by her loving children, Blanche (Harreson) Tanner of Riondel, B.C., Bonnie (Bill) Medhurst, Mike (Julia) Ferris, Don (Eve) Ferris, Judy (Mitch) Kasprick and Eila (Mickey) Just, all of Calgary. Doris is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; a brother Tom McKenzie of Swift Current; two sisters, Anne Lukye of Estevan, Sask. and Dorothy (Almer) Pohl of Nanaimo, B.C.; a sister-in-law Francis McKenzie of Brooks; and numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral Service at Pierson's Funeral Home, 4121 - 17 Avenue S.E. on Saturday, November 1 at 2:30 p.m. Cremation will follow. FESZLER - Mr. Antal Feszler, aged 66 years, passed away at the Peter Lougheed Centre on October 26, 1997. A truly giving man, Antal will be missed by his circle of friends. Funeral Services will be held at HERITAGE FUNERAL HOME, 1708 - 16 Avenue N.W. (across from North Hill Shopping Centre) on Tuesday, November 4, 1997 at 3:00 p.m., Pastor Richard Stetson of Shepherd King Lutheran Church officiating. Interment, Rocky View Garden of Peace. FETHERSTON - Eileen B. passed away peacefully at her home in Saanichton on Wednesday, September 10, 1997. She was predeceased by her husband Walter and her sister Hazel. Eileen will be missed and is lovingly remembered by her daughter Terry; her son Don; her special life-long friend Hilda McGurk; and her friends and relatives in Alberta and B.C. After living a full and satisfying life in Calgary, she moved to Victoria where she joined the Central Saanich Senior Citizens Association in Brentwood Bay. Her eyes sparkled when she talked of all the wonderful new friends she made at the "500 Club" and the "Crib" card groups of the Seniors Association. We wish to thank Carmel MacDonald, home care nurse, and Dr. Stephanie Dimoff for their expert care and kind support during our difficult time. "Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on the snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush, I am the swift uplifting rush. Of quiet birds in circled flight, I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there. I did not die. At Eileen's request there will be no Service. Private Cremation. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in Eileen's name may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements entrusted to the Vancouver Island Memorial Society. FETSKO - Paul Fetsko passed away on November 18, 1997 in Calgary, Alberta, following a battle with cancer. Paul was born on July 9, 1919 in Fernie, B.C. to one of Fernie's older families. He attended public and high school there, graduating in 1937. During World War II he was unable to enlist in the Air Force, he therefore went to work in the coal mines. He later attended the University of Alberta in Edmonton, graduating with a degree in Civil Engineering in 1952. He was employed with the Department of Highways and Transportation, retiring in 1984 after serving for thirty-three years in southern Alberta. Survived by his loving wife Alexandra (Fegirchuk); brothers, Stephen, Vancouver, B.C., Peter, Regina, Sask.; sister Emma (Tony) Pavich, Richmond, B.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews in B.C. and Alberta. Funeral Services will be held at Parkdale United Church, 2919 - 8 Avenue N.W. on Friday, November 21, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jan Craig officiating. Interment to follow at Rocky View Garden of Peace Cemetery. Funeral arrangements in care of HERITAGE FAMILY FUNERAL SERVICES "Heritage Funeral Home". (11/21/1997).

FETTER - Gladys Irene Fetter passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving daughters, Marian Jefferies and Mavis Fetter, on December 19, 1997 at the age of 92 years. Gladys was born in Sherwood, North Dakota and immigrated to Antelope in 1910 with her parents, Henry and Dorathea Walker. Gladys married her beloved husband Bryan in Cabri, Saskatchewan on November 7, 1927. Their marriage was blessed with four children, Alan Fetter (Dorothy) of Edmonton, Alberta, Marian Jefferies and Mavis Fetter of Calgary, Alberta, and Edward Fetter (deceased), and Francis of Nova Scotia. Gladys and Bryan celebrated sixty-three wonderful years of marriage, before Bryan passed away on November 25, 1989. Gladys was a loving grandmother and great-grandmother. There were thirteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brothers, Henry, Edward and sisters, Helen and Esther. Mary Ann NuFable was a loving and dedicated care giver to Gladys until the last. Gladys had a wonderful artistic talent and was a thirty-five year member of the Calgary Rock and Lapidary Club. Her displays will be missed at the annual Lapidary Show. Funeral Services will be held at St. David's United Church, 3303 Capitol Hill Crescent N.W. on Tuesday, December 23, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. John Griffith officiating. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Kidney Foundation of Canada - Calgary Chapter, 1717 Macleod Trail S.E., Calgary T2G 2N8. ERSKINE - James (Jim) Keenan Erskine passed away peacefully Friday, June 27, 1997 at the age of 71 years. Jim was highly regarded in the engineering community since arriving from Belfast, North Ireland in 1954. Jim is survived by his children, Redmond, Terry, Michael, Erin, their mother Ellen; his sister Mavis Drake; his grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be fondly remembered by family and friends in Canada and abroad. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S "Park Memorial Chapel" (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.), on Monday, June 30, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Salvation Army's Agape Manor Hospice, 1302 - 8 Avenue N.W., Calgary, T2N 1B8.
