Vida Dudzinski
DUDZINSKI - (Dekanic) Our beloved mother, Vida Dudzinski, passed away at the Foothills Hospital on November 13, 2001, at the age of 78 years. Vida is survived by her son Robert Dekanic, daughter-in-law Diane Dekanic; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Marijana Bugarski; and by her beloved granddaughter Marina Dekanic. Vida was predeceased by her loving husband of many years, Casimier (Casey) Dudzinski. Vidosava (Vida) Dudzinski was born on June 23, 1923 in Novi Sad, Yugoslavia. Vida was a devoted daughter to her parents, Bozidar and Jovanka Bugarski. She was a very special younger sister to her loving brother Paul. Vida attended the School of Commerce in Novi Sad (Trgovacka Akademija), where she was an excellent student. Our mother had a special way with people from all walks of life, and made many friends during her lifetime in Yugoslavia and in Canada. Among these special childhood friends was Dkfm. Robert Weinmann of Vienna, Austria. Vida immigrated to Canada in the summer of 1966 with her son Robert. In Canada, after a brief stay in Toronto, Vida settled in Thunder Bay, Ontario. There she met and married Casey Dudzinski, with whom she enjoyed many happy years together. Because of their kind and caring ways, our parents made many good friends while residing on Redwood Avenue. In Thunder Bay, Vida was employed as a Nursing Assistant at the Westmount Hospital. She worked at the hospital for fifteen years. At Westmount, Vida made many life-long friends among the staff. Patients assigned to our mother always appreciated her gentle care. After her husband passed away, Vida moved to Calgary, Alberta. In Calgary, Vida met Mrs. Olga Ilic and the two quickly became very close friends. Vida loved to watch how her special granddaughter Marina developed into a caring and intelligent young lady. The bond of love and trust between Marina and her special "Grammy" grew deep and strong. Vida was very fond of gardening and spent many hours tending to her flowers. The family wishes to express its gratitude to the many Doctors, Nurses and Staff at Foothills Hospital for their kind care of our mother. Our gratitude goes as well to Dr. Lyne Audet and her staff for the many years of medical care given to Vida. I will see my mother on sunlit summer days growing like a pretty flower on a mountain meadow. She will rise each morning with the sun and warm my face. Dear Mother, jewel of my soul, hands soft and loving like yours will never caress us again. Nor will your kind words soothe away our fears. Words can never measure the true magnitude of our loss, nor can they give full expression to our grief. All her life, Vida was a spiritual person. She was always close to her God, and to the Christian Orthodox Church. Vida now returns to her loving God, and into the loving embrace of her father and mother. Wait for us mother. "Spavaj, spavaj mog zivota blago." A Memorial Service will be held at FOSTER'S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 - 4 Street N.W. (across from Queen's Park Cemetery), on Saturday, November 17, 2001 at 3:00 p.m. FOSTER'S GARDEN CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, Directors.
