Bertha married Henry Lambert of Fort Vermillion in 1949. They had five children Angeline, Ronnie, Karen, Keith and Loretta. Bertha moved to Peace River in 1946 where she worked and raised their family. Bertha worked as a waitress for many years and then later at IGA. Her husband Henry and her sisters Martha Grey and Dorothy Bloome predeceased Bertha. Bertha has left behind many friends and family. She leaves behind children Angeline (Erwin) Hawryliu of Prince George B.C., Ronnie Lambert of Peace River AB, Karen Lambert of Peace River, AB, Keith (Shelly) Lambert of Grande Prairie AB, Loretta (Denis) Denison of Berwyn AB. She loved animals and collected old bread and scraps for the local ravens (we’re sure she taught one to say ‘Hello’). Her home was full of birds and cats. Bertha enjoyed the simple things in life such as canning and cooking for her family and anyone else who enjoyed good food with good conversation. Her door was always open to anyone needing a place to stay or just a good meal. Bertha was baptized one of Jehovah’s witnesses. She loved to talk about the bible and looked forward to the New System under Jehovah God’s arrangement. The scriptures make this promise “Your dead ones will live... they will rise up.” The bible also says, “The righteous themselves will possess the earth and will reside forever upon it.” Isaiah 26:19, Psalm 37:29. Christ himself said, “Do not marvel at this because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.” John 5:28, 29 & Acts 24:15. Funeral Services for the late Bertha Lambert were held May 4, 2004 at 2:00 pm from the Chapel of Memories Funeral Chapel, Peace River with Don Maddox officiating. Organist Marion Weber. Active Pallbearers Danny Denison, Laurie Denison, Rich Guy, Skyler Knott, Harvey Lambert, Dustin Lambert. Interment followed at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Peace River.
