GILMER -- Viola Janet. On November 24, 1997, Mrs. Viola Gilmer of Provost passed away at the age of 74 years. She leaves to mourn her loss, one son Richard (Karen) Gilmer of Calgary; three daughters, Joyce Gilmer of Provost, Rita (Ron) Keller of Provost, Rhonda (Barry) Gordon of Calgary; six grandchildren; her mother Regina Nett of Provost; five brothers and three sisters. ITO -- Masao, aged 77 years, of Calgary, passed away November 24, 1997, beloved father and father-in-law of Lorraine Morrison, Orillia, Ontario, Joni and Michael Pleau, Calgary. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Christopher and Michael Morrison, Kelly and Whitney Pleau; three brothers, Iwao Ito, Japan, Shoji Ito, Toronto, Ontario, Kiyoshi Ito, Mississauga, Ontario; two sisters, Terry Hori, Mississauga, Ontario, Midori Cupp, Florida. He was predeceased by his wife Michiko on November 24, 1993. Born in Vancouver, B.C., where he resided until World War II then moved to Eastern Canada where he was married, residing at Hamilton, then Toronto, retiring to Orillia, Ontario, then moved to Calgary in 1986. He was a member of the Calgary Japanese United Church and the Japanese Seniors (Kotobuki). Funeral Services will be held at LEYDEN'S "Chapel of Remembrance" (17 Avenue and 2 Street S.W.) on Friday, November 28, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Minoru Takada officiating. JOHNSON -- Phyllis Mary (nee Wren) passed away peacefully at the Peter Lougheed Hospital on November 23, 1997 at the age of 83 years. Born in Bristol, England, Phyllis moved to Canada in 1951. She enjoyed being a member of "Order of the Eastern Star" Centennial Chapter No. 136. Phyllis is survived by her husband of fifty-seven years, Les; three children, Raymond, Paul and Susan (Wayne); grandchildren, Cory, Kent and Lisa; and by her extended family in England.
