BROOKER, Laurette - May 8, 1943 - September 10, 2017 Our hearts are beyond broken as we share the sudden passing of Mom and Memere, Laurette (Legault) Brooker of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. She passed away September 10, 2017, one day after what would have been their 50th anniversary while visiting family in Quebec. Left to mourn are her children Mona (Darren) Boutin of Fort Saskatchewan, AB and Jerry Brooker of Sherwood Park, AB; grandchildren Darcy Boutin of Fort Saskatchewan and Shaun Boutin (Brittany Thackray) of Edmonton, AB; brothers Luc and Alfred Legault; sisters Elva Martel and Anita Peters; sister-in-law Sharon (Dave) Barker as well as numerous nieces, nephews and so very many friends. Laurette is predeceased by her husband Barrie who passed away in May 2017, son Dennis, parents Albe and Yvonne Legault, father-in-law Walter and mother-in-law Irene Brooker. She was fondly known as 'Mom' to many and for her positive, genuine, loving and compassionate nature, love of family and friends, quick smile, infectious laugh and warm hugs. Mom had an ability to see the positive in everything and everyone. She provided endless love and support to Dad. She was an elementary teacher for many years in Fort Saskatchewan, Edmonton, Grande Prairie, Fort McMurray and Manitoba. She loved an adventure, time with the many people she cared about and children. She believed there was good in everyone and had a very strong faith. Mom had an amazing ability to light up a room with just her presence. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1pm October 16 at Our Lady of the Angels Church in Fort Saskatchewan, AB and 1pm October 21 at Blessed Sacrament Church in Elie, MB where she will be laid to rest. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mom's memory can be made to Alzheimer's Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation or Fort Saskatchewan Boys and Girls Club. Heaven's gain is our loss. Dennis Leroy Koester
KOESTER, Dennis Leroy - 1935 - 2017 Dennis Koester passed away at the Fort Saskatchewan Community Hospital at the age of 81. Dennis was born in Eston, Saskatchewan on October 11, 1935 and attended school in Eston until grade eight and then completed his education in Saskatoon. Dennis met and married his wife Margaret Cousins in Saskatoon and moved to Edmonton in 1955. He moved to his farm at Gibbons, Alberta in 1972 and lived there for the next 38 years and then retired to Fort Saskatchewan. Dennis will be missed by his loving wife of 62 years and his six children: Terry Gray, Chris Koester (Lorraine), Dan Koester, Kevin Koester, Deborah Paquette (Robert) and Dawn Harder (Lloyd); thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Dennis is also survived by one sister and one brother. Dennis was predeceased by his parents, two sisters, one brother and one son-in-law (Rob Gray). The family would like to thank Dr. Roob for his kind and considerate care. A Funeral Service will be held at Evergreen Funeral Home (16204 Fort Rd NW, Edmonton, AB) on Thursday, January 19th at 2:00 pm with Pastor Doug Hale officiating. STOBART, EVELYN ELIZABETH
It is with great sadness that the family of Evelyn Elizabeth Stobart, long time resident of Jasper, Alberta, announce her passing on October 8, 2014 at the age of 94.
Evelyn was predeceased by her husband Thomas in 2007, her daughter Sharon in 2012 and her great grandson Kaden in 2003.
Evelyn will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her daughter Lee Anne (Allan) Rose, Grandson Brian (Kelly) Rose, Granddaughter Connie Rose and 3 great grandchildren, Taylor, Ethan and Peytan, all of Hinton, AB.
Evelyn is also survived by one brother, Grant Bennett of Red Deer, AB., and numerous nieces nephews.
Evelyn will make her final journey home to be with family and friends at Mirror, AB.

May 4, 1924 – October 10, 2003
Ruby Gall of Wetaskiwin, Alberta passed away in the Red Deer Hospital on October 10th, 2003 at the age of 79 years.
She is survived by her loving husband Leon; brother Elmer (Merle) Ruff of Calgary and sister Carolyn Losing of Calgary; two sons, Gary (Brenda) of Wetaskiwin, Eric (Linda) of Olds, and a daughter Leola Kuefler of Wetaskiwin; eight grandchildren, Daren (Blakely) Gall of Wetaskiwin, Michelle (Patrick) Hardy of Edmonton, Tammy (Chris) Lemmon of Calgary, Kim Gall of Olds, Martin (Danielle) Gall of Olds, Amanda Gall of Olds, Brett Kuefler of Calgary, Kristen Kuefler of Toronto; seven great-grandchildren, Madisen, Paige, Payton, Tyana, Jasmin, Quentin, Jordan; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ruby was predeceased by her parents, sister-in-law Ethel Ruff, brother-in-law, Harold Losing, and son-in-law Allen Kuefler.
A Service of Remembrance for Ruby was held at the Hanna United Church on Wednesday, October 15th, 2003 at 11 AM with Pastor Frank Netter officiating.

Hancock, Kathleen
HANCOCK, Kathleen Elizabeth July 25 1912 - April 9, 2006 Surrounded by love Kathleen Elizabeth (Kay) Hancock left us to be with her God on April 9, 2006 at the Royal Alexander Hospital in Edmonton. Born in Edmonton July 25, 1912 and raised in what was to become the Crestwood community, Kathleen Porter travelled north to teach in Grouard, Girouxville and Donnelly Corner before taking a teaching post at a one room school in Fort Vermilion in 1936. There she met Richard (Dick) Hancock, the Hudson's Bay Company clerk, at a community duck hunt. After each served in different communities they met to be married in Peace River in 1941 and returned to North Vermilion. During the war they lived in Saskatoon, Calgary and Winnipeg as dad trained as a navigator and mom returned to Edmonton while dad served overseas. While serving the Hudson's Bay Northern Stores and teaching for 45 years Kay and Dick lived in Leaf Rapids Ont., Montreal PQ, Pickangickum Ont, Osnaburgh House Ont, Fort Resolution NWT, Fort Smith NWT, Kitwanga BC, Hazelton BC, returned to Fort Vermilion AB and then Dawson Creek BC before retiring to Edmonton, back at the homestead in Crestwood, in 1980. Throughout her journeys with Richard they had eight children. Kathleen was a strong contributor to church and community in every place she lived. She believed in giving back. A life long teacher and librarian she valued education and inspired (insisted) each of her children graduate from post-secondary. She loved her family dearly and made her family the centre of her life. Kathleen is survived by her husband Richard and six children with their spouses, Richard (Gudrun) of Vancouver, Robert (Brenda) of Stony Plain, Lorine Landry (Malcolm) of St. Albert, Kathleen (John Perron), Alastair (Marie) and David (Janet). She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, Kirk (Judie) of Victoria, Yvette Boyling (Michael, Arin (Candace), Terina, Nathan (Asami), Breanne, Adam, Jordan, Ian, Janis Stouffer (Greg), Janine, David Perron, Dereck Perron (Terri), Keith Perron (Nelda); and by three great-grandchildren, Harlan, Jace and Jaina. She suffered the loss of two children, Patricia Elaine (1943) and Donald (1987) as well as Donald's wife Susan (1988). Kathleen was also predeceased by her parents David and Katherine Porter, and her siblings and their spouses, Irene (Bill Goebel), Olive (Alastair Hoyle) and Hugh Cecil "Chug" Porter (Verge).
