Violet Margaret Sloan, 88 of Delia, Alberta, passed away on January 11th, 2005 at the Drumheller Hospital after a sudden heart attack.
Vi was born at the Morrison Farmstead in Delia on December 1, 1916 to Alex and Maria Morrison. Vi married William Howard Sloan (died September 7, 1996) in Delia on March 4, 1942.
Vi was predeceased by twin brother Fred (World War 11) and brothers Bob, Doug and John and sister Mary.
Violet lived her entire life in the Delia area. Violet is survived by her brother, Alex (Viv) of Calgary and her four children: Bill (Elaine) of Castlegar, B.C., Peggy (Lloyd) of Delia, Fred of Calgary and David (Linda) of Edmonton. Violet is also survived by eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A graduate of the Delia High School, Vi was active her entire life in Eastern Star, W.M.S., United Church, W.I. and C.G.I.T. Vi was an accomplished softball player (Alberta champions - Morrin Flyers - 1933 and 1938) and curler and in her later years was noted for her numerous awards for handicrafts, gardening and baking.
After marrying, Vi and Howard started their life together farming northwest of Michichi. In 1948, they moved to the Stuart Sloan home farm northwest of Delia, where they mix farmed for 44 years.
One of Vi's greatest wishes was that she could spend her entire life in her own home, a feat that she accomplished. Her garden, her plants and her craft projects kept her keenly interested until her final hours. Vi was a willing and active participant and volunteer in endless community projects and activities. Vi and Howard travelled extensively during their lifetime.
Family was a special focus for Vi, and she spent much time every year traveling to visit family and partake in various family events and for many decades she hosted family dinners.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Delia United Church, Stars, Institute for the Blind or any charity of your choice.
A celebration of Vi Sloan’s life will be held at the Delia Community Center on Wednesday, January 19th, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Travis Cannaday presiding.
Ira Vernon Thomas Hall, of Lindale
On Sunday, April 27, 2003 Ira Hall of Lindale passed away at the age of 26 years.
He leaves to mourn his passing his loving family - mother Cheryl Hall of Red Deer, father Ron Hall of Drayton Valley; brother Ron (Melanie) Hall of Drayton Valley; niece Alycia, nephew Keenan; grandmother Mrs. Annie Hall of Clearwater, B.C. and many friends.
Ira was predeceased by his grandparents Lorna and Vern Hernberg and Vernon Hall.
A Service of Remembrance was held on Friday, May 2, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at the Lindale Hall with Rev. Muriel Campbell officiating.

Donna (nee McPherson) Guptell
GUPTELL, Donna (nee McPherson) - It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of our mother, grandma, sister, aunt, mentor and friend, Donna Lynn Guptell, 70, of Sorrento, British Columbia, formerly of Lamont, Alberta and Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. Donna passed away peacefully on January 20, 2017, at Kelowna General Hospital surrounded by her family. Born October 5, 1946 in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, she led a full life from coast to coast. She was predeceased by her parents, Roy and Hazel McPherson, as well as her cherished sister, Cheryl Mack (McPherson), and nephew Shane Mack. She is survived by her husband Graham Beauchamp, of Sorrento, B.C., daughter, Kelli (Dean) Tkachuk and son Chris (Laura) Beauchamp, both of Grande Prairie, Alberta, and grandchildren Gregory, Ryley, Bridget and Delaney, as well as her brothers Dan McPherson, David (Josephine) McPherson and Dale (Betty) McPherson. Donna loved to cook for others and greatly enjoyed films, reading, and playing cards, dominoes and dice games. She was a gracious and loving person who always had others' interests at heart. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A celebration of her life will be held this summer in Sorrento.
HEIGH, Dorothy Virginia
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy Virginia Heigh (Desjarlais) at the age of 80 years on December 28th, 2014 in Edmonton, Alberta.
She was born on October 23rd, 1934 in Marlboro, Alberta.
Left to mourn is her brother Sonny Desjarlais (Liz) and their children of Marlboro, Alberta, sisters Edith Loyer and her sons from Villenueve, Alberta, Leona of Chetwynd, British Columbia and Isabel Ann Rebalkin and her daughter of Stettler, Alberta.
Dorothy was predeceased by her parents Elsie and Deome, her brother Solomon and sisters Mary, Gladys, Terry and Ruth.
Memorial services was held on Friday, January 9th, at 11:00 AM at the Marlboro Community Hall, Marlboro, Alberta, led by Pastor Gayle Findlay.
Cremation has taken place.

Rose Chaluk (nee Chomcey)
December 11th, 1931 – January 7th, 2015
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rosalia Charitas (Rose) Chaluk of Edson, Alberta, on January 7th, 2015.
Left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory; her daughter Crystal Chaluk, sons Ken (Mary Jayne) Chaluk, Dave Chaluk, and Brian Chaluk all of Edson, Alberta, daughter Sharon Pittet of Osoyoos, British Columbia, son Doug Chaluk of Kelowna, British Columbia, seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and her beloved little dog Vivee.
Rose was predeceased by her husband Ken Chaluk, her parents John and Rose Chomcey, brothers Jerry Chomcey and Denny Chomcey, sister Anne Morrow, twin sister Ollie Yakimchuk, and son-in-law Guy Pittet.
At Rose’s request, there will not be a service. Interment of cremated remains will take place at a later date.
