TAYLOR, Mildred Edyth (Larsen)
December 22, 1923 - September 20, 2011
It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of our mother, sister and nana, who passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 20th, 2011.
Mildred is survived by her children, Scott (Catherine), Suzanne (Dwight) McIntosh and Lynda (Boris) Chambul; grandchildren, Christopher Taylor, Erika Hagen, Andrew and Jessica Chambul; sister, Cora Lindroth; sister-in-law, Margaret Taylor; and many other dearly loved family and friends. She was predeceased by Floyd, her loving husband of 62 years.
Mildred, an inspiring musician and teacher, led a gracious and dignified life. As well as performing with the Kirk United Church choir, she greatly enjoyed scholastic pursuits and was a devoted member of Delta Kappa Gamma. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and appreciated her wisdom and compassion.
The family wishes to thank all the staff at the Devonshire Care Centre and at Waterford at Summerlea for their gentle care and kindness.
A Celebration of Mildred's life will take place at Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home, 10011 - 114 Street, Edmonton on Monday, September 26th, 2011 at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Royal Conservatory of Music at 273 Bloor Street West, Toronto, ON, M5S 1W2, or www.rcmusic.ca.

GADICA, Joann
GADICA, Joann Elizabeth Evelyn Diaczun of Spruce Grove passed away suddenly on Friday December 31, 2010 at the age of 52 years. Joann is survived by her loving husband Murray; one son Joel, three daughters Rachel, Melissa and MarcyAnn. She also leaves behind four brothers, Dan Diaczun of Thunder Bay, Robert of Edmonton, Bruce of Gibbons and Steven of Mississauga. Joann was predeceased by her parents Steve and Stella. Joann grew up in Thunder Bay but eventually settled with family in Spruce Grove. Joann was an active member of her church serving in many different capacities. She had a great compassion for people and a strong love and dedication to her family. A viewing will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 400 McLeod Ave. in Spruce Grove on Wednesday, January 5 between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. The Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Wabamun Cemetery. A luncheon will later follow at the church at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity of one's choice.

Rita Gaida nee: Lever, of Hanna
1949 - 2005
It is with our deepest sorrow and all of our love that we announce the passing of our wife, mother, grandmother and friend on March 12, 2005.
Rita was born in Vigo Cavedine, Trento, Italy and came to Champion, Alberta at 3 years of age. In 1969 she married the love of her life, Ron, and together they raised four children. In 1980, they moved their young family to Hanna, Alberta. Once her children were all in school, Rita returned to teaching. She made a difference in many students lives over her 14 year career. She enjoyed working with her students and sharing stories about their successes with her family. During her years in Hanna she was involved in the Hanna Boys and Girls Club, Hanna Curling Club, Women’s Slowpitch and in recent years was working on her golf game.
Rita found strength in her faith. She was very involved in catechism, the Catholic Women’s League and the ministries of the Church. She lived her life by the teachings of her faith and was an inspiration to all who came in contact with her.
As a true Italian, she enjoyed fine wine, food and friends. Visitors were greeted with a smile and food. There was always something good cooking in Rita’s kitchen!!
Rita was a loving and caring wife and mother who placed her family above all else. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Ron, her four children: Bradley (Tanya) and granddaughter Chalsdony of Chestermere, Suzanne of Cochrane, Richard of Cochrane and James (Sarah) of Calgary; her sister Carla Erdman of Lethbridge, brothers Greg (Eunice) Lever of Airdrie and Walter (Pat) Lever of Kelowna and numerous nieces and nephews. Rita is predeceased by her parents Angelo and Rosa Lever of Champion and nephews Craig Lever and Scott Meiklejohn.
Relatives and friends are invited to a prayer service on Wednesday, March 16 at 7:00pm at St. George’s Catholic Church in Hanna, Alberta. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. George’s Catholic Church on Thursday March 17 at 11:00am. If friend’s so desire, in lieu of flowers, tributes in Rita’s memory can be made to: The Mustard Seed Ministry in Calgary, Covenant House in Toronto or St. George’s cemetery in Hanna.

Matilda Johnston nee: Darveau, of Lacombe
Matilda Claire Johnston (nee Darveau) passed away peacefully at the Lacombe Hospital December 14, 2003.
Claire was born August 9, 1910, the fourth of five daughters born to Sophie and Antoine Darveau of French Flats, Saskatchewan. She was a resident of Lacombe and the Senior Citizens’ Lodge for the past two years.
Claire will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Fern Edwards and family of Blackfalds, AB, son Ken (Irene) Johnston and family of Buck Lake, AB and daughter-in-law Beulah Johnston and family of Blackfalds, AB, as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Claire was predeceased by her husband Clifford in March, 1994 and son Wilfred on September 18, 2003.
Cremation entrusted to Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer.
Future graveside memorial service for Claire will be held at Blackfalds cemetery on May 9, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. If friends desire memorial contributions may be made to the Lacombe Church of the Nazarene 4930 Woodland Drive, Lacombe, AB T4L 1P1. DITTRICH, Ralph Charles
July 28, 1939 - December 17, 2010
With his family by his side Ralph peacefully passed away, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Ralph was predeceased by his father Carl, and will be dearly missed by his loving mother, Isobell; wife Marion; three children Darryl, Darlene, Dan and their families; also by numerous other relatives and friends. A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Ardrossan United Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Ralph's memory may be made to the Ardrossan United Church or Capital Care Norwood. Gordon and Cindy Kadatz directors in care of arrangements.

BROWNLEE, Evelyn Afiena, Nee Jager
We regret to announce the passing of Evelyn on March 11th, 2016 in Edson, Alberta at the age of 66 years.
Evelyn is survived by her son Scott (Cathy) Olydam and their children Kelsy, Kyle and Jesse Foley all of Grande Prairie, Alberta.
Also surviving is her mother Nancy Jager of Edson, Alberta and her siblings: Wilhelmina (Ken) Bateman and family of Vancouver, British Columbia, Johanna (Jim) Cunningham and family of Kelowna, British Columbia, Nancy (Bob) Wilson and family of Hinton, Alberta, Janet Massey and family of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Margaret (Wilbur) Apoll and family of Edson, Alberta, Bert Jager and family of Coleman, Alberta, Jackie Caouette and family of Coleman. Alberta, Vivian (George) Williams and family of Edson, Alberta and Fred Jager of Moberly Lake, British Columbia.
There are numerous other relatives and a host of friends left to mourn.
Evelyn was predeceased by her father Nanno Jager in 2000 as well as her sister Metje Jager and sister in law Minnie Jager.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. In lieu of other tributes, donations if desired may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice in memory of Evelyn Brownlee.
