She worked at the Holy Cross Hospital and Cedar Villa Lodge in Calgary as a Dietician, retiring in 1971. She was a member of the United Church and Lifetime member of the Rebekah Lodge. Florence is survived by a daughter Doreen (Don) Cruickshank, Cranbrook; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Florence was predeceased by her first husband Allan Kar Holmes in 1956, one son Norman Allan Holmes in 1950, her second husband Charles Taylor, and by her sisters, Edith, Margaret and Elizabeth, by a brother George. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 7, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. from the McPHERSON FUNERAL HOME, Cranbrook, BC with Rev, Jack Lindquist officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to the B.C. ADAMS -- Jasper "Joe" Adams of Calgary, passed away peacefully at the Peter Lougheed Centre on November 4, 1997 at the age of 69 years. Beloved husband and best friend to Sylvia; father and hero to Kevin and Dennis. Also surviving is a very special brother and sister-in-law, Mick and Valene Perdue; as well as nephews, Leonard and Lloyd Perdue; as well as many friends. Jasper came from a pioneering family, was born and raised in the Peace River country of Alberta. He was raised with a true "Cowboy Spirit", and moved to Calgary in 1950. Jasper fought courageously with arthritis for many years of his life, and then with heart disease for the last few years. Despite this, he involved himself in many passions from being involved with horses with his sons, collecting Canadian Folk music, inventing, painting and his love of music and songwriting. He loved his jam sessions, especially get-togethers with "The Singing Circle". Special thanks to Mick and Val Perdue and family; also to the nurses and staff on Unit 44 of the Peter Lougheed Centre. ATAMANIUK -- On Wednesday, November 5, 1997, Sophie Atamaniuk passed away in the Peter Lougheed Centre at the age of 76 years. Sophie was born in the Ukraine and emigrated to Canada at an early age. Upon landing in Halifax, she immediately came West and settled in Calgary, where she has spent her lifetime. It was here she married her husband Ivan and raised their family. Her family was the centre of her life and everything revolved around them. She will be remembered for her wonderful cooking, beautiful gardens and flowers and was also a strong member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church. She is survived by her loving husband Ivan; daughter Dana Ashman and husband Ralph of Calgary; son Steve Atamaniuk and wife Luba of Edmonton; three grandchildren, Sonya Emslie of Calgary, Stephen and Jerry Atamaniuk of Edmonton; also numerous other friends and relatives in Canada and the United States. BOUCHARD -- Victor Bouchard passed away in Drumheller, AB, on October 31, 1997 at the age of 89 years. Victor was born in Weyburn, SK, on July 2, 1908. He is survived by his children, his son Frank (Marie) and their family, Chad, Charmaine (Brad), great-grandchildren, Blair and Taylor, all of Calgary; his daughter Joan (Joe) Calpas of Drumheller, AB and their family, Jim (Janet) of Brooks, AB, Dean of Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA, and Kevin of Drumheller; his son Dave (Geri) and their family, Michael (Heather), Robert (Yvonne) of Victoria, B.C. and Nicole of Calgary; his son Dale (Vi) and their family, Darren, Melissa (Rick) of Calgary. Victor was predeceased by his loving wife Rosalie on September 3, 1997, a daughter Sharon and a son Michael, his parents, five brothers and three sisters. BRISBIN -- Elizabeth Blodwen Brisbin was born May 24, 1917 in Fort William, Ontario and passed away November 3, 1997 at Agape Hospice in Calgary. She and her husband Jim, served as missionaries in Japan and returned to Canada to work at Prairie Bible Institute where Blodwen taught piano. Since moving to Calgary in 1983 she has used her musical talents for God in several local churches. After a battle with cancer, she will be rejoicing in the Lord for evermore. She is survived by two sons, David (Vera) of Fairview, Alberta, Bill (Sarah) of Three Hills; daughter Elizabeth Ann of Calgary; as well as six grandchildren. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, November 8, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. from the Three Hills Cemetery. Memorial Services will be held at Robert McClure United Church, 5510 - 26 Avenue N.E., Calgary, Alberta, on Sunday, November 9, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Dave Holmes officiating. BROOKS -- William (Bill) Brooks passed away suddenly at the Foothills Hospital on November 3, 1997, at the age of 79 years. Bill is lovingly survived by his wife Fay, and is the loving father of Karen (Gerry) Brown, Gary (Sheila) Mason, Kim Brooks, all of Okotoks, AB, and William G. Brooks of Cochrane, AB; his four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Norman (Dyllis) Brooks; and his sister Loreen Durch; as well as numerous nieces and cousins. Bill was predeceased by his parents, his one brother, and his one sister. Bill worked in his later years of his life for MacKillop Fertilizer Co. for eleven years. He was a life member of the Order of Elks, Lodge No. 31, Okotoks. He loved the outdoors and sports and especially dancing the Jitterbug. He will be sadly missed by family and many friends. The Memorial Service will be held from the Chapel of MOUNTAIN VIEW FUNERAL HOME on Friday, November 7, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. Inurnment to follow in Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
