Alex was born on February 25, 1916 in Redwater, AB and raised by his grandparents on a farm near Ross Creek.
Alex moved to Calgary in 1940 where he married Olga, his wife of nearly fifty-six years.
During the Second World War he served briefly in the Canadian Armed Forces before an injury caused an early discharge.
After his discharge, he worked at numerous jobs, then joined A.G.T., until his retirement in 1981.
Alex is survived by his loving wife Olga, his mother-in-law Mary Omelchuk both of Calgary; his son Roger (Sandy) Bernatzki of Surrey, BC; his grandson Ryan Bernatzki of Vancouver, BC; his granddaughter Nicole (Guido) Presch; and great-grandson, who was named after him, Logan Alexander Presch of Salmon Arm, BC.
Alex enjoyed his sixteen years of retirement, traveling to visit family whenever possible.

BOZSIK -- Julius Bozsik of Calgary, passed away on October 27, 1997.

COLLINS C.F. "Sonny" Collins of Medicine Hat, beloved husband of the late Mrs. Anne Collins, passed away in Medicine Hat on Tuesday, October 28, 1997 at the age of 77 years.
He is survived by one daughter Joanne (Bob) Crews of Calgary; one son Rob (Melanie) Collins of Calgary; five grandchildren, Justin (Angela), Jennifer, Jordan, Mackenzie, Nicholas; and one sister Nellie Miller of Barriere, B.C.
He was predeceased by his wife Anne, and one brother Roy Collins.
Sonny was born and raised in Medicine Hat.
He joined the army in 1939 and served in England with the Calgary Highlanders.
After his return, Sonny was employed by the C.P.R. Railway, retiring after twenty-six years of service.
His retirement was to be short-lived as he soon found himself employed with the Royal Canadian Legion as Head Steward, a position he held for the next five years.
His reputation for hard work soon spread through the community and when the Travelodge was built it was not long before General Manager Fred Amman asked Sonny to work for them, which he did for nine and a half years.
During this time Sonny spent evenings teaching a Mixology/Hospitality Class at the Medicine Hat College.
After he retired, Sonny managed the Medicine Hat Golf and Country Club and was instrumental in the erection of their new clubhouse.
Sonny's friendly, outgoing nature made him the centre of attention while working as a Director of the Alberta Golf Association.
Board members respected his well-formed opinions and competitive spirit.
He was always a favorite playing partner during A.G.A. gatherings and all Alberta golfers have benefited from his commitment and dedication to the sport in this province.
Even with all his work and late hours Sonny was a devoted husband and father.
He has made a positive impression on all who knew him.
Sonny Collins will be remembered with gratitude for who he was and all he did.

DOCKERY -- Irene Joanne (Laurie), age 69, passed away October 23, 1997 at her residence.
She was born August 7, 1928 in Brooks, AB.
She is survived by her mother Eva Laurie of Calgary; two brothers, Doug and Frank Laurie of Calgary; a daughter Maureen Clarke of Delta, BC; a son George McCauley (Lillian) of Calgary; six grandchildren, Christian, Colleen Clarke, Lindsay, Eric, Nicholas, Michael McCauley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Irene was predeceased by her father William Laurie in 1970.
Calgary was her home for most of her life.
She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Alberta Branch No. 1.
Irene spent many years in the banking industry where she received the White Hatter Award in 1961 for giving the best service and possessing the most pleasant personality.
A Graveside Service will be held at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens (17 Avenue S.W. and Lower Springbank Road) on Thursday, October 30, 1997 at 1:00 p.m.

DWORNIK -- Stella Dwornik passed away peacefully, quietly and with dignity on October 27, 1997.
She was born August 19, 1923 in Poland.
Stella is survived by her loving husband of fifty-five years, Mike.
Mike and Stella raised three loving daughters, Josilin (Jaret) Burgoyne, Judy (Barry) Martin and Linda Dwornik (Merlyn Hirsch).
She is the loving grandmother to Kristena and Jaret Burgoyne, all of Calgary.
Stella is also survived by her sister Joan (Stu) Wilkinson; and many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her sister Mildred Youzwyshyn.
The family wish to sincerely thank the Nurses and Doctors of Unit 59 at the Rockyview Hospital.

FOLEY -- Lyla May. On October 25, 1997, Mrs. Lyla Foley of Edmonton, formerly of the Calgary area (Shephard), passed away.
She leaves to mourn, three sons, Lorne, Dean and Bill; one sister Gladys Robinson; one brother Gordon MacGregor; longtime friend Mrs. Helen Kilroe of Calgary; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a host of friends.
She was preceeded by her husband John Foley in 1953.

FORSTER -- Margaret Olga, beloved wife of Mr. Bert Forster, passed away peacefully at Foothills Hospital on October 25, 1997 at the age of 66 years. Besides her loving husband, she will be lovingly remembered by her son Nick (Tina); her sister Mary (Allan) Mac Donald of Nelson, BC; four nieces, one nephew, as well as numerous cousins.
Margaret devoted her time and ability to A.R.B.I., Red Cross and "Meals on Wheels".

GOLAR -- Frank Robert Golar of Calgary, passed away peacefully at the Peter Lougheed Hospital on October 27, 1997 at the age of 84 years.
He is the loving father of Bob (Sue) Golar, and April Golar both of Calgary.
He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Holly, Angie, Kristie, and Dorian, all of Calgary; his sister Annie of Nova Scotia; and his niece Ena Maxium of Toronto.
Frankie was predeceased by his wife Olive, and by his son Frankie.
