TOBLER -- Ruth Elizabeth Tobler (nee Hill), beloved wife of Arthur Tobler, passed away peacefully at the Rockyview Hospital on October 27, 1997 at the age of 71 years. She is also survived by her sister Jean Hill of Edmonton and numerous nieces and nephews. Ruth worked at the Calgary General Hospital as a Service Aid. Funeral Service will be held at FOSTER'S FUNERAL HOMES "Garden Chapel", 3220 - 4 Street N.W. on Thursday, October 30, 1997 at 3:00 p.m. Interment at Rocky View Garden of Peace. BERNBAUM -- Sally Bernbaum passed away peacefully on Monday, October 27, 1997 at the Beverly Care Centre where she had lived for the past four years. Sally was a GREAT mother; fun-loving, gentle, caring, a wonderful sense of humor, and a love of music with a beautiful singing voice. "Baba" will be greatly missed by her sons and daughters-in-law, Stan and Nancy of Calgary, Harvey and Kim, also of Calgary, and Neil and Lesley of Richmond, British Columbia; and her grandchildren, Talia, Piper, Manya, Safi and Alicia. Allan, Sally's loving husband, passed away four years ago. Born in Russia in 1912, she moved with her family to Winnipeg, Manitoba where after high school, she worked for Weidman Brothers as a secretary, mastering the comptometer. She married in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in 1939, and then worked with her husband in their car dealership in that city until 1964 when they retired. Sally was dedicated to the Hadassah organization and the Jewish Community in Saskatoon until the summer of 1992 when they moved to Calgary. She will always be remembered for her loving personality, her great passion for cooking, and above all, her love for and devotion to her family. Funeral Services were held at the Jewish Memorial Chapel (1702 - 17 Avenue S.W.) on Wednesday, October 29, 1997. Interment followed at the Jewish Cemetery (30 Avenue and Erlton Street S.W.). S.W COLLINS -- Mr. C.F. Sonny Collins of Medicine Hat, beloved husband of the late Mrs. Anne Collins, passed away in Medicine Hat on Tuesday, October 28, 1997 at the age of 77 years. He is survived by one daughter Joanne (Bob) Crews of Calgary; one son Rob (Melanie) Collins of Calgary; five grandchildren, Justin (Angela), Jennifer, Jordan, Mackenzie, Nicholas; and one sister Nellie Miller of Barriere, B.C. He was predeceased by his wife Anne, and one brother Roy Collins. Sonny was born and raised in Medicine Hat. He joined the army in 1939 and served in England with the Calgary Highlanders. After his return, Sonny was employed by the C.P.R. Railway, retiring after twenty-six years of service. His retirement was to be short-lived as he soon found himself employed with the Royal Canadian Legion as Head Steward, a position he held for the next five years. His reputation for hard work soon spread through the community and when the Travelodge was built it was not long before General Manager Fred Amman asked Sonny to work for them, which he did for nine and a half years. During this time Sonny spent evenings teaching a Mixology/Hospitality Class at the Medicine Hat College. After he retired, Sonny managed the Medicine Hat Golf and Country Club and was instrumental in the erection of their new clubhouse. Sonny's friendly, outgoing nature made him the centre of attention while working as a Director of the Alberta Golf Association. Board members respected his well-formed opinions and competitive spirit. He was always a favorite playing partner during A.G.A. gatherings and all Alberta golfers have benefited from his commitment and dedication to the sport in this province. Even with all his work and late hours Sonny was a devoted husband and father. He has made a positive impression on all who knew him. Sonny Collins will be remembered with gratitude for who he was and all he did. DWORNIK -- Stella Dwornik passed away peacefully, quietly and with dignity on October 27, 1997. She was born August 19, 1923 in Poland. Stella is survived by her loving husband of fifty-five years, Mike. Mike and Stella raised three loving daughters, Josilin (Jaret) Burgoyne, Judy (Barry) Martin and Linda Dwornik (Merlyn Hirsch). She is the loving grandmother to Kristena and Jaret Burgoyne, all of Calgary. Stella is also survived by her sister Joan (Stu) Wilkinson; and many nieces and nephews. EKLUND -- Evelyn Adelaide Eklund passed away Tuesday, October 28, 1997 in the Palliative Care Unit of the Pincher Creek Hospital, at the age of 80 years, after a brave and courageous struggle with cancer. She is survived by her husband of fifty-six years, Jack; a daughter Muriel of Calgary; a son Kenneth (Diane) of Rocky Mountain House; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
