JOHNSTON -- Rodney Theodore Johnston, loving husband of Thelma Johnston, High River, formerly of the Dinton district, passed away at the High River Hospital on October 15, 1997 at the age of 87 years. Besides his wife Thelma, Rod is survived by his daughters, Joyce and Vic Willoughby, Red Deer, and Marian and Bill Benner and Margaret and Walter Hubarewich, all of Calgary; his sons, David and Joy Johnston, Red Deer and Dennis Theodore (Ted) and Helen Johnston, Calgary; nineteen grandchildren and thirty-one great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Lila Peckham, Calgary. Rod was predeceased by his sisters, Elma Hall, Dorothy Paul, Marjorie Peckham and Irma Bishop. Service will be held at the High River United Church on Saturday, October 18 at 2:00 p.m., Sue MacDonald of Blackie-Gladys United Church officiating. LAMBERT -- Gordon Robert passed away peacefully following a courageous battle with cancer in Calgary on October 14, 1997 at the age of 68 years. Gordon joined the RCAF in 1947 and served until 1976. He then joined the civil service until his retirement at age sixty. Gordon was a very proud and active member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 264. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his son Gary and his wife Mary, and their daughter Fionna; his daughter Annette Sephton and her husband Bob, and their children, Cara, Drew, and Elliott. Gordon was predeceased by his loving wife Inga. LEE -- Mrs. Ngok Nui Lee passed away peacefully at the Beverly Centre on Tuesday, October 14, 1997 at the age of 104 years. She was the beloved mother of Chun Tao (son-in-law Chu Lam Ng), New York; Terry (daughter-in-law Gam Yee), and Laurie (daughter-in-law Lydia) of Calgary. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Lee was predeceased by her husband Henry in 1971, her daughter in 1984, her sister and her two brothers in China. Mrs. Lee was born in Toy Sun, Kwangtung, China and came to Canada in 1964 and resided in Calgary with her loving family. She was a member of the Lee Association. LUKEY -- Mr. Peter Lukey of Calgary passed away on Thursday, October 16, 1997 at the Rockyview Hospital at the age of 83 years. Peter is survived by his loving family, his daughter Veronica Corney and husband Ed, and cherished grandchildren, Trent and Tricia; and loving family friend Rose-Marie Manseau, all of Calgary. He is also survived by a sister Anne Auguson of Norquay, Saskatchewan, and a brother Ed Lukey and wife Sylvia of Prince George, B.C. Peter also had a special nephew Orest Lukey and wife Fran of Acme, Alberta, along with other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his daughter Pat in September, 1975 and his wife Kasimira in December, 1986. MATSON -- Judith O. Matson passed away peacefully at the Claresholm Willow Creek Auxiliary Hospital on October 17, 1997 at the age of 86 years, beloved mother of Janet Olson of Chilliwack, B.C., Ken (Lana) Matson of Calgary. McLELLAN -- Murdock passed away at his home in Parksville, BC, on Wednesday, October 15, 1997 at the age of 73 years. Born at Bonnington Falls, BC, he served in the Royal Canadian Navy during the war for five years and then was a member of the Calgary Fire Department for nineteen years. Murdie is survived by three sisters, Janet, Margaret and Muriel; and his nephews and nieces. McMULLEN -- Mrs. Marion McMullen passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on October 18, 1997. Marion was born July 15, 1929 in Calgary, Alberta. In 1953 she married Archie McMullen. Archie and Marion served at the parishes of the Good Shepherd Anglican Church and St. Phillips Anglican Church in Calgary before moving to Stettler in 1969 to serve at St. Georges, Stettler, St. Paul's, Byemoor and St. Margaret's, Scollard. They moved with their family to Red Deer in 1975 where they served at St. Luke's Anglican Church until Archie's passing in 1983. In 1985, Marion went to work at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 35 where she worked on memberships and at the front desk until her retirement in 1994. She had a warm smile and a gentle heart for all those she met, and a gift for making everyone she knew feel unique and special. She will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, extended family and church family. She leaves to carry on her legacy of love, Maureen (Don) Wielinga and their children, Farron, Matthew, Aleah and Annelise of Neerlandia, Alberta; John McMullen and his children Daniel and Nicole of Red Deer; and her son Jim (Karen Brosseau) McMullen and their daughter Heather of Leduc. A Celebration of Marion's life will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. at New Life Fellowship Christian Reformed Church, 5220 - 77 Street, Red Deer, Alberta. McMAHON -- Mary Geraldine (nee Duffy) passed away October 16, 1997. Mary was born in Montreal and lived in Charlottetown, Aylmer, Saskatoon and Vancouver. Predeceased by her husband Louis and her daughter Nadine Bomersbach, she is survived by four daughters, Patricia (Harold) Fry, Irene (Edward) Auger, Leah McMahon, Stephanie (David) Bishop; one brother Walter Duffy; and son-in-law Conrad Bomersbach; also nine grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. Mary will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.
