STEWART - Robert “Bob”, passed away at the Mayfair Care Centre on July 5, 2006 at the age of 88 years. Bob will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 42 years, Winnie (nee: Motley). He is also survived by his sister, Lilly of Ireland; his niece, Edna and nephew Ron as well as numerous nieces, nephews and family members. Bob was predeceased by 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Bob was born in Ireland and emigrated to Canada in 1948. In 1949, he moved to Alberta, where he worked in the Lumber Mills for the winter before working for the McNiven Farm. In 1950, he moved to Calgary and worked for the Canada Malting Company for 29 years and retired at age 60. He was an honorary member of the Bow Valley Masonic Lodge. Bob enjoyed golfing, curling, camping and traveling in his motor home. A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held in the Chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home on Monday, July 10, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. If so desired, a memorial tribute may be made in Bob’s name directly to S.T.A.R.S Air Ambulance (Box 570 - 1441 Aviation Park NE, Calgary, AB, T2E 8M7) or the charity of one’s choice. Joyce Carron, beloved wife of the late Lloyd Carron of Calgary, passed away at the Brentwood Nursing Home on July 8, 2006, at the age of 79 years. Joyce will be lovingly remembered by her only child; Marcelle, and her grandchildren Steve and Shannon. Also very special to her; Mike Abel son-in-law and the Abel family, her sister Gloria (Peter) Ash and family and brother Walter (Donna) Allison. She was predeceased by her parents Herbert and Pearl Allison, sister Doreen and brother Arthur. Joyce was born in Victoria, BC on December 5, 1926, she and her husband moved to Calgary in the 1950's. Joyce was a very caring and loving lady with a great sense of humor, with an incredible memory and always made time for everyone. She strongly believed in never giving up, with life’s challenges. She loved her family deeply. McCullough, Ronald “Ron” Henry, beloved husband of Clair McCullough of Calgary, passed away suddenly on July 10, 2006, at the age of 63 years. Ron was born on June 4, 1943 in Hanna, Alberta. Ron met Clair, the love of his life in 1969 and they married on September 2, 1972. Besides his loving wife Clair, he will be forever missed by his family: father Joseph Eddy James; children, Ryan and Kimberly and grandchildren Hayden and Samantha. He is also survived by: his sisters, Colleen (Larry) Stella, Sharon Moorhead; mother-in-law Evelyn Silverthorn and son-in-law Stephen Churchill. He was predeceased by his mother Kathleen Margaret in 2001. Ron was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and will also be dearly missed by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Reid, Phyllis Nellie (nee: Knott)

Born in Sunnyside, Calgary, Phyllis Reid passed away peacefully in the hospital in Drayton Valley, Alberta on July 8, 2006. Phyllis married Edward “Ted” Reid on November 15, 1940 in Calgary, and they raised their three children in Calgary. Phyllis was predeceased by her husband (May 1971), and all of her siblings: twin brother Ernie, brothers Cyril and Reg, and sister Nita. Left to remember her joy and good humor are her children, Penny (Lloyd) Stephenson, Jim (Diane) Reid and Susan (David Butler) Reid, and her grandchildren Greg (Lisa), Melinda, Jeff (Sara), Jason (Marne), Jodi, Laura, Katharine, Erin and Ian, and great grandchildren Rylee, Jena, Craig and Brodie. A special thank you to the loving and caring staff at Serenity House in Drayton Valley for the fantastic care they have given Mum over the past 2½ years. "In the Arms of the Angels"... with great sadness the family of Nichole Suzanne Gillett announces her passing on July 13, 2006. Nichole was loved and cherished by her son Zachary Auger, her parents Patti and Ken Gillett, her sister Heather (Ryan) Green, her nephews Benjamin Green and Michael Green, her grandparents Evelyn and Lloyd Erb, grandfather Doug Gillett, her father Barry (Margo) Rathburn, brother and sister Ryan and Amanda Rathburn, grandmother Violet Rathburn and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her grandfather Ben Wyman, grandfather Gordon Rathburn and aunts, Lynda Watters and Jennifer Ogger. Nikki touched our lives with laughter, love and joy. She will be forever remembered as our beautiful angel and we will always feel her loving wings around us. It is with great sadness that the family of Katie Luft announce her sudden passing on July 14, 2006 at the age of 23 years. Katie was born on Thursday, June 23, 1983 in the Grace Hospital, Calgary, AB and passed away on July 14, 2006 at the Rockyview Hospital. Katie, our precious gift from God will be greatly missed, loved and forever cherished in our hearts by: her sister Kristin, 22; brother Stephen, 18; parents Susan and Don and special companions, her puppies Brandy and Jasper. Left to remember Katie in happiness and sorrow are her grandparents Bob and Helen Richardson of Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia, Donald and Freda Luft of Calgary. She is also survived by: her Uncle Dave and Auntie Shelley Richardson of Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia; cousins Jordan (Erin) and Graham. Auntie Karen and Uncle Ed of Priddis, AB, cousins Jeff and Eric; Auntie Maureen Berkley (Terry) of Scottsdale, Arizona; Uncle Rick Berkley of Calgary, cousins Chantel and Erica; Auntie Lana and Uncle Boris Andulajevic of Victoria, BC, cousins Ashley and Melena; Great Uncle Lawrence and Great Auntie Bonnie Luft of Calgary; Cheryl (Bruce) and their three children, Cole, Jett and Tully of Port MacQuarrie, NSW, Australia; her Godmother Elizabeth Branston of Burlington, Ontario; close family friends Auntie Pat and Uncle Ron Schuler of Calgary and their children Wayne, Lorraine, Larry and Heidi (Andre). She will be lovingly remembered by her boyfriend Jason Scheuneman of Calgary and his parents Dennis and Diana who have been a loving and positive influence in Katie’s life, along with close friends Arturo, Sara and many other friends and work associates from Canada Safeway. Katie’s family wish to express their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to nurses Peggy, Elaine, Michelle, Kim and many others along with a team of doctors who cared for her with dignity, respect and compassion. Also a special thanks to the hope Foundation for guiding us gently through the organ donation program so Katie’s wishes could be honored in giving her personal gift of life to others. Katie had been working for Canada Safeway for over a year and met many wonderful new friends. Her love and support shone through for so many, especially her love for all animals. Her goals were to finish her post secondary education in business so that she could one day own a business of her own.
