BANKS - Henry C.C. (Monty) Banks, DFC, born on May 20, 1920 in Regina, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle against an unbeatable foe on June 7, 2000. He is the beloved husband of fifty-seven years of Josephine (Kynoch) Banks; and loving father of Jane (Brock) Jacobs; and adored grandfather of Marina, Marc and Evan Jacobs. Monty was predeceased by his only son Jim in 1974 and his parents. He is survived by many friends. He served with the 405 Pathfinder Squadron during World War II for two tours of operations overseas, returning home in 1944. Monty was employed with Marshall Wells, and then Western Canada Importers until his retirement in 1985. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 285. Monty enjoyed golfing, gardening, fishing, camping, and travelling. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Hagen and Dr. McKinnon, and the respective nursing staff at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre and especially Dr. Marina Skulsky and staff for their tireless efforts in assisting Monty. A special thank you to all Monty's caregivers, Nishma, Shary and Linda for their attentive and compassionate care. Monty's journey was peaceful. AMARAL - Jose Augusto Amaral, of Calgary, passed away May 6, 2000 at the age of 76. He will be sadly missed by his wife Maria Amaral; their daughter Zulmira Ferreira (Jorge), of Lisbon, Portugal; a son-in-law Afonso Costa; three grandchildren, Miguel, Gabriel and Ana; two sisters, Zulmira and Lizia; two brothers, Joao and Rui, all of Portugal; and many other relatives and friends. COCHRANE - William (Bill) Cochrane passed away peacefully in Calgary on Monday, May 8, 2000, after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 69 years. He came from Flat Rock, Newfoundland in 1947, and enjoyed a thirty-four year Career with Air Canada in Montreal and Calgary. Bill is the beloved husband of Therese; and loving father to three daughters, Gail (Holland) Ross, Joan (Dennis) Walker and Cathy (Allen) Kasner; a son William Cochrane; as well as his grandchildren, Paul and Alenna Kasner, and Joey and Anne Walker. He is also survived by two sisters, Anastasia Latta and Margaret Batten; and three brothers, Joseph Cochrane, James Cochrane and David Cochrane. COMSTOCK - Albert Bernard Comstock passed away at the High River Hospital on May 8, 2000, at the age of 88 years. He was born on the family ranch at Pine Coulee, south of Nanton, on September 29, 1911. He was predeceased by his wife Eleanor on April 28, 1950, his parents, Francis on May 1, 1956, and Mary Comstock on September 4, 1956, his brothers, Gordon in 1988, John in 1991, Wilbert in 1994, Norman in 1995 and Ross in 1998. He is survived by his sister Mary Beeza of Nanton and numerous nieces and nephews. By request, there will be no Service held. Cremation arrangements in care of Parklawn Crematorium.

CURRIE - Ronald (Ron) Theodore Currie of Calgary, passed away at the Colonel Belcher Hospital on Sunday, May 7, 2000 at the age of 77 years. Ron was born July 24, 1922 in Calgary. He joined the Army during World War II and had served overseas. Ron enjoyed a long truck-driving career with CFCN Television's mobile football crew. Ron is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Mel and Pat Currie of Airdrie; and two daughters and sons-in-law, Marelyn and Roger Dubois of Balzac, AB and Debbie and Jerry Boudreau of Airdrie; nine grandchildren, Brenda, Jeff, Stacey, Darcy, Terra, Chad, Todd, Laurie and Lindsay; and a great-grandson Noah. He is also survived by three sisters, Bernice Ertmoed of Vernon, BC, Myrtle Porter of Calgary, and Norma Seeger of Delia; and two brothers, Don Currie and Allen Currie, both of Black Diamond, AB; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ron was predeceased by his wife Nellie in 1985. HARDING - It is with great sorrow that the family of William "Bill" Ernest Harding announce his passing at the Peter Lougheed Hospital on Friday, May 5, 2000, at the age of 70 years. Bill will be dearly missed by his children Carrie Paterson (Andrew Skinner) and Dwayne Harding; his grandchildren Shawn, Sarah and Natasha Paterson and Daniella Harding, all from Calgary; his sister Mavis (Tom) Fahlman of Edmonton, nephews John and Paul Fahlman; cousins, Bob (Betty) Collier of Airdrie and Stan (Sheila) Collier of Castor; numerous other relatives and friends. Bill was predeceased by a son, A. Ernest Harding on January 18, 1989, and his parents, Albert E. Harding in 1934 and Martha Harding in 1995. Bill was born on August 26, 1929, in Castor, AB. He enjoy a long and successful career in the Oil and Gas industry, spending the better part working with Dome Petroleum, before retiring with J.B. Bootsman in 1990. Upon retirement, Bill spent countless hours volunteering for local charities and was an active member of Southwood United Church. Bill's other passions were for music, curling and travel and his family will cherish the scrapbooks that he created from those endeavors. Upon life's end, all we can hope is that our life had purpose. Dad, yours meant everything to us and we miss you so. Art is survived by his wife Louise; sons, Arthur and Kenneth; mother Jessie,; sister Lavore (Orville) Waddle of Claresholm, Alberta; brothers, Gordon (Dorothy) Kesler of Acme, Alberta, and Owen (Eleanor) Kesler of Cardston, Alberta. Also survived by sisters-in-law, Darlene (Dennis) Gooch of Vulcan, Alberta, and Joan (Bruce) Geldart of Oakville, Ontario; aunts, Leah Asplund of Picture Butte, Alberta, Vilda Quaife of Taber, Alberta, and Olis Nyman of Logan, Utah; uncle Joe (Buddy) Godfrey of Taber, alberta; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his Dad, Devore Kesler in 1991. Art loved aviation and always felt so fortunate to have had his career in this field which spanned the Canadian Airforce, C.P.
