Jim met his fate with true cowboy courage and quietly accepted the hand he had been dealt. He took comfort from the faith he found during his life, in nature. In the beauty and solitude of the mountains and a star filled sky. He had no fear of moving on.
Jim was pre-deceased by his wife Doreen, his father Walter in 1984, brothers Tom in 1999 and Robert in 2002.
He leaves to mourn, his loving wife Leona, dear children Mathew (Linda) of Black Diamond, Danny (Carol) of High River, Jenny Diggins (Randy) of Black Diamond and Debbie (Bill) of Turner Valley.
Also his beloved mother Sarah and sister Beverly (Pete) from England, his loving grandchildren, Jollean, Cameron, Rebecca, Jessica, MacKenzie and Kyle and great-granddaughter Baylee and his nephews George and Jarret Scott and niece Shelly Barber.
Jim also had an extended family of stepchildren and grandchildren. Especially remembered are Gina (Craig) and Wace, the little cowboy, of Raymore, Saskatchewan, Robin (Steve) of Illinois, Holly and Maria (Doug) of Calgary.
At Jims request there will be no funeral service. His ashes will be returned to his beloved mountains and he will be laid to rest in Turner Valley with family and close friends in attendance.
The family extend special thanks to the doctors and staff at the Allan Blair Cancer Center in Regina, to Dr. Lim, Christine McNichol and the Palliative Care Team in Nokomis for their wonderful and loving support throughout our sad and difficult journey.
Our personal and heartfelt thanks to Maureen Ferguson, so very special.
