It is with great sadness that the family of Louis Galarneau announces his passing at 70 years. He is survived by his loving children Stacey (Mike), Ward, Mark (Candace) and Robert (Kim); five grandchildren and one great-grandchild; one brother Maurice (Donna) Galarneau, sister Leonore Galarneau, extended family and friends. Louis was predeceased by his wife of 45 years Rose (Queen Bee). A Memorial sErvice will be held on February 26, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church (7508–29 Avenue, Edmonton). WESOLOSKY, Josephine (Nee; DEDIO)
On February 15, 2010, Mrs. Josephine Wesolosky of Leduc, went home to be with her Lord at the age of 94. She is survived by three daughters and one son: Doris (Lawrence) Rumak of Millet, Arlene (Peter) Welychka of Edmonton, Virginia (Peter) Makarus of St. Paul, Ray (Sharon) Weslosky of Calmar; thirteen grandchildren, Dianne (John) Jarosz, Rodney Rumak, Karen Marechal, Coreen (Wayne) Lebid, Richard (Heather) Rumak, Lorette Warkentin, Donna (Wayne) Burma, Charmaine (Kelvin) Meilicke, Lyndon (Wendie) Makarus, Nadine (Jamie) Burdon, Randall (Catherine) Makarus, Sharlotte Weslosky, Sheldon (Charlene) Weslosky; nineteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; two brothers Mike and Joe Dedio; and two sisters Francis, Helen (Alex) Tymos; also numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Nick in 1991; her parents Anton and Mary; two brothers Peter and Walter; two sisters Cora and Anne. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 27, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Mill Creek Christian Assembly, 8928 83 Avenue, Edmonton, AB. Reverend Steve Holomis will be officiating. Suddenly on Saturday, February 20, 2010, Mrs. Marie-Rose Lacasse of Spedden passed away at the age of 66 years. Marie-Rose is lovingly remembered by her husband of 46 years Edgar; three daughters; Sylvie (Ian) Rosentreter, Lyndia Lacasse, Nathalie Lacasse; all of Edmonton; seven grandchildren: Crystal (Matt), Tara, Angela, Lindsay, Shayne, Chancy, Joshua; four great-grandchildren: Hayden, Alex, Darian, Logan. Marie-Rose is survived by her siblings: Francoise, Claude (Lissette), Evelyne (Piere), Yvonette (Clement), Roger, Louisette, Jean-Louis (Pauline) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Marie-Rose was predeceased by her parents Marie Ange and Francois Murray, sisters Solange and Janeau, and one brother in infancy. LONG, Herbert
May 7, 1921– February 20, 2010
Herb passed away peacefully at home after a short, but courageous battle with cancer. He met this challenge head on, just as he did everything in life. He is survived by Marsha, his loving wife of nearly 63 years, his beloved son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Jerry and Lynn Long and his treasured grandson and golfing buddy, Christopher, his long time pal and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Michael and Bernice Kvasnak and family of Prince Albert, SK. Also cousins, Anne Marie Toquet and family in France, Charlotte Suttle and partner Michael Shinner and Henry and Marg Baldry in England. Herb was born in Yorkshire, England. He then came to Canada with his parents, Alfred and Rose and brother Alfred who have predeceased him. A man of strong principle, Herb had a generous heart and was a total family man. He was proud to have served his country for six years in the Royal Regina Rifles and three years in the Royal Canadian Air Force. He retired after 35 years as a Locomotive Engineer in Prince Albert, and then ran the train in Stanley Park in Vancouver for six years. He then moved to Edmonton to be with his family. He loved golfing and is well known at Country-Side. He was a man of great talents and a wonderful sense of humor. We have so many people to thank: Dr. Trent Dusang, Trish and Don Bayne, Arlene Jennings, Jerry Finley and the Grey Nuns palliative home care and not the least, our own family. One day we will walk hand in hand again my love. Reverend Audrey Brooks will be officiating at a private family service and cremation. At a later date, there will be a memorial service and interment in the Military Cemetery in Prince Albert, SK.
KOKOTILO, George John
(April 16, 1917 — February 20, 2010)
Devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather went to be with his Lord on February 20, 2010 at the Grey Nun’s Hospital after a brief illness. He leaves his wife, Cathy (66 years), only child, Joyce (and Lyle) Johnson, grandchildren, Gina (and Kevin) Heidebrecht, Chad (and Jennifer) Johnson and great-grandson, George, brother, Bill (and Elizabeth) Kokotilo, sister, Sally (and Bill) Martin and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. We express our heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nurses at Unit 54 at the Grey Nuns Hospital for their compassionate care of George during his time at the hospital. George’s life will be celebrated at a memorial service at Beulah Alliance Church, 17504-98A Avenue at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 24, 2010.
WESTMACOTT, Reverend Maurice
On February 15, 2010 Reverend Maurice Westmacott went to be with his Lord and Saviour at the age of 95 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his children: Merla (Vaughn) Johnstone of Milton, ON, Clare (Carole) Westmacott of Canmore, AB, Brenda (Glen) McDowell of Edmonton, AB; eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, as well as many relatives and friends; step-daughters: Jeanne (Joe) O’Connell, Tricia (Keith) Haase, Judy (Chuck) Robinson, nine step-grandchildren and eleven step-great-grandchildren, all of the United States. Predeased by his first wife Vera in 1975 and by his second wife Eleanor in 1998. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2010 between 7:00 — 9:00 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Service (5311–91 Street, Edmonton, AB). Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 19, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at South Side Church of the Nazarene (10712–29 Avenue, Edmonton, AB). Interment will be held in Victoria, BC at a later date. Reverend Maurice Westmacott served the Church of the Nazarene in active ministry since the early 1940’s. Even in his retirement he continued to support the outreach mission programs, numerous charities, and officiating at family weddings and baby christenings until his passing. BROWN, Charlene Diane
On February 14, 2010 Charlene Brown of Edmonton passed away suddenly at the age of 43 years. Charlene will be deeply missed by her children Leeann Brown, Brandy Mckenzie, and Shawn Brown; as well as her six grandchildren, her father Robert Brown and numerous extended family members.

November 17, 1935 — February 10, 2010
Mom passed away suddenly at the age of 74. Joan will be greatly missed by her four sons Dan (Andrea), Dave (Wendy), Bob and Greg; grandchildren Roli (Krisztina), Michelle (Mike), Dusty and Nicole; her great-granddaughters Savannah, Alannah, Tori, Meka and Dakota; her brothers Jim (Jean) and Bert (Cheryl); her nieces and nephews and large extended family. On February 10, 2010 Lorraine Hardy passed away at the age of 75 years. Lorraine is survived by daughters Jo-Anne and Jean, sons Robert and Frank; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Lorraine is predeceased by her husband Bob and son Ken.

On Tuesday February 9, 2010 Dave Mirich of Edmonton, AB passed away at the age of 76 years. He is survived by three sons; Dr. David Mirich, Perry Mirich, and Barry Dean Mirich; four grandchildren; Matthew, Michelle, Rebecca, and Kelsey; the mother of his children Margaret and a brother Shelley. Keeping with Dave’s wishes cremation will take place and no funeral services will be held. At 6:20 p.m. on Tuesday February 9, 2010 Ella Grinde went to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 92 years. She will be missed by her nephew Elgar (Annie) Grinde, her neice Lorna (Alain) Levesque, grand nieces and nephews; Lydia-Ann, Sarah-Joy, Elita, Matthieu, Jayanna, and Paul. Also her very close friends Mohan and Deanna Maharaj and their children Marvin (Simi) and Delene (Jonathan) and Lauren. Ella was born September 17, 1917 at Bruce, Alberta. HOLMES, Marion Grace (Serbin)
Marion passed away at the Norwood Hospice on February 6, 2010. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Earl, her children Sandra and Don, her seven grandchildren, and her sister Evelyn Mayers. She was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Adella Serbin, and her brother Jack. FAUST, Joy Irene
Loving mother, caring wife, supportive and loyal friend, Joy Irene Faust passed away in Edmonton on February 6th, 2010 with her daughter Jackie at her side. Born in Nottingham, England in 1925, Joy will be remembered for her animated storytelling, sharp wit and great sense of fun. Predeceased by her husband Jack in 1995, she will be greatly missed by her daughters Jackie Faust (Jacqueline) of Edmonton and Gerri Johannesson of Chilliwack, B.C., grandchildren Julie and Jamie (Kimberly), three great-grandchildren, and dear friends Joan and Eric Dowse and Heather Flutter. As per Joy’s request, there will be no funeral.

Peacefully after a long battle with cancer Gary Ross of Edmonton passed away at the age of 52 years. Gary is lovingly remembered by his Wife of 20 years Moira, their daughter Abbey, his parents George and Audrey Ross, his sister Debra (Wayne) Jack, and his nephew Matt as well as numerous family and friends. Gary was an inter-provincial automotive mechanic who fulfilled his dream by purchasing the shop he worked at: Speedy Muffler on 50th Street and 23rd avenue. HARDER, George

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George Harder, a husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. George passed away peacefully at the Edmonton Royal Alexandra Hospital on March 22, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. with wife Diana by his side. George was born September 20, 1943 in Hague, SK. He spent his early years installing overhead doors in Saskatoon and area. In 1979 he met Diana. They began their life’s journey together on September 7, 1979. They lived in Saskatoon until 1983 when they then moved to Hague and resided in the same house that George’s parents had for many years. They lived in Hague from 1983 to 1987 and then moved to Edmonton, AB. where he resided until his death. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Saviour in 2009. In the last few weeks of his life George Harder shared with many family members his new love for the Lord. It was evident that George was a changed man. He faced death with confidence knowing what awaited him. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his loving wife Diana, son Joe and “adopted” son Ben. Seven sisters: Tina (John) Hildebrandt, Agatha (Peter) Dyck, Helen Harder, Susan Fox, Maria Harder, Anne (John) Peters, Marti (Bob) Neufeld; One sister-in-law Eileen. Seven brothers: Jake (Sarah) Harder, Del (Hilda) Harder, Peter (Maxine) Harder, Martin (Anne) Harder, David (Eva) Harder, Henry Harder, Marvin (Mary) Harder and numerous nephews and nieces. George was predeceased by his parents Cornelius and Agatha Harder; four brothers Bill, Don, Abe and John. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Mennonite Central Committee. Loving wife of William Lyle Morrison of Edmonton passed away peacefully on March 21, 2010 at the age of 80 years. Tina is survived by her son Michael, and daughter Laurie (Chad) Frederick; eight grandchildren: Jake (Rebecca), Matt, Ian (Ada), Yolande, and Alison Frederick, Bradley Morrison, Christopher and Angela Willowby; and one great-granddaughter Nora Ann Frederick, sister Aleda Cooper and brothers Ron (Gladys) Miller and Bill (Patti) Miller. She was predeceased by two sons James and Scott; one brother Alfred Miller; two sisters Erna and Otilla (Tillie). HUBER, Gertrud
Gertrud Huber went home to be with the Lord at the age of 88 years. Left to cherish her memory are her children; Gisela (Reinhold) Schmidt, Linda (Jack) Helbig, Fred (Erna) Huber, Elaine (Vaughn) Malcolm, Irene (Bill) Gowans, Anita (Marvin) Bonn, 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, one sister Marlene (Harold) Thompson, and many other relatives and friends. BAKER, Robina
Robina (Ruby) Baker (nee Swanson), formerly of Devon, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2010, at the Stony Plain Memorial Hospital with her loving family at her side, after a proud and fruitful life of more than 100 years. Left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory are her daughters Kathleen Wagner of Vancouver, Patricia (Philip) Montgomery of Devon and Alexandra (Rowland) Harrison of Calgary, her sister Margaret Bazeley of Grande Prairie, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Edmund (Ted) and her brother David Swanson. When she was 16, her family emigrated to the Peace River country from Scotland. After graduating from the University of Alberta and studying at McGill University, she pursued her distinguished teaching career, which culminated in her appointment as Principal of the Devon Elementary School. On her retirement in 1974, the school was renamed the Robina Baker Elementary School. Her legacy includes the fond and grateful memories of family, friends, colleagues and her many pupils. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, March 29 at 2:00 p.m. at the Devon Community Centre, 20 Haven Avenue, Devon, Alberta.
