URSEL, Donald J.

Don passed away March 18, 2010. He is survived by his loving wife, Carol, daughter Cheryl, son Darren (Linda), grandson Devon and granddaughter Kayla, brother George, and numerous nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place.At the request of Don, there will be no funeral or memorial service. If friends so desire memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

THUNDER, Jim Jack

On March 6, 2010, Jim Jack Thunder passed away at the age of 59. He was born in Slave Lake, AB but his passions and charismatic spirit took him all over North America. He was a strong, proud and intelligent man and will be missed by all who knew him. He was funny, a real character and knew how to tell a story. He was very passionate about history and his heritage. He was a Cree Man! He leaves behind friends and family but lives on in each one of us. A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, March 21, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Service, 10129 Princess Elizabeth Avenue in Edmonton. Services to terminate at the Chapel with cremation to follow.

SUELZLE, Audrey

Audrey passed away peacefully on March 15, 2010 at the Royal Alexander Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband Ernie. Audrey is survived by her brother Ron and sister Joyce. She will be missed by them and her many good friends. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of her Life will be held Monday March 22, 2010 at 11 am from St. Edmunds Church 13120 — 116 Street, Edmonton, with Father Leo Cordeau officiating. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made in Audreys’ name to the Edmonton S.P.C.A.

ROBERTS, Joan (Nee; Turtle)
November 2, 1946 — March 15, 2010

It is with extreme sadness and sorrow that we announce Joan Roberts of Spruce Grove passed away at the age of 63 years. She is lovingly remembered and survived by her husband Don, children; Paul (Monica), Nancy (Rod) Kause and Steven (Ida), grandchildren, Jade, Jordan, Cole and Cameron, mother; Lenora Turtle and siblings; Ron, Bill, Rhonda, Karen, Gordon and John. Joan was pre-deceased by her father, Robert Turtle and brother, Alan. Joan was a very special woman who laughed a lot and loved much. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends. Services will be held at the St. Andrews United Church in Spruce Grove on Monday March 22, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation 700, 10665 Jasper Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T5J 3S9

MOORE, Donald Harold
1925–2010

Don, of Sherwood Park, Alberta passed away peacefully with his family at his side March 21, 2010. He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, Phyllis, children: John, Terry, Rhonda, Leslie (Dwayne), Shelley (Alan), and grandchildren: Kiersten, Kaylee, Sarah, Sharon, Micah, Ashley, Austin, and Keenan. Grateful thanks to the Strathcona Home Care nurses and the Capital Care Norwood nurses. At Don’s request there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, if one wishes, Memorial donations may be made to Kids with Cancer Society (11135–84 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta, T6G-0V9).

MILLER, Cameron Donald
October 19, 1977 — March 15, 2010

Cameron was suddenly taken from us in a tragic accident. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving parents, Bud and Pam, brother, Joe (Nicole) and adored neice, Kaylin, maternal grandparents, Wes and Lucille Hicks, many aunts, uncles, cousins and countless treasured friends. We will miss him dearly. Home Going Service March 22, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Bethesda Christian Fellowship, 9015–132 Avenue, Edmonton. ZUKIWSKY, Marie

On April 25, 2010, Mrs. Marie Zukiwsky of Edmonton, AB, passed away at the age of 83. She leaves five children: Rick (Pat) Zukiwsky, Christine (Jerry) McCroary, Sharon (J.P.) Langlois, Laurie Zukiwsky and Janet Adams. She also leaves her sister Irene Basaraba and husband John, nine grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, April 29, 2010 at 2:00 p.m., at Word of Faith Church, 3904–91 Street. Pastor Doug Khan will be officiating the service.

WHITFORD, Derrick Wallace

On April 22, 2010 Derrick passed away at the age of 53. Derrick is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Margriet, son Jason, daughter-in-law Thuy and his cherished granddaughter Gemma. Derrick leaves behind extended family and many great friends. A Viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., memorial service to follow on April 28th, 2010 at Serenity Funeral home, 10129 Princess Elizabeth Avenue. To honor Derrick’s love for children donations may be made lieu of flowers to the Stollery Childrens Hospital.

TAUBE, Heinrich (Henry)

Henry Taube of Edmonton, AB, has passed away at the age of 77 after a brief struggle with cancer. Henry leaves to mourn five daughters, four grandchildren, four sisters, and two brothers. Henry was born and raised in South Edmonton. He spent his entire career at Canadian National Railways in Edmonton’s Calder and Cloverbar yards after training at CN’s Transcona facility in Manitoba. On retiring in 1988, he kept active in his basement hobby shop. His love of woodworking leaves a legacy his daughters will treasure. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 4th, 2010 at the Serenity Funeral Service Chapel, 4702 — 51 Avenue, Leduc at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Joseph’s Auxiliary Hospital Foundation (Palliative Care), 10707 — 29 Avenue, Edmonton, AB T6J 6W1.

STANG, Adolph Joseph (Sonny)
April 26, 1949 — April 16, 2010

Sonny bravely faced cancer and rejoiced in both life and death. He was ready to meet his Lord. He dearly loved his children Amie-Rose Celeste Stang and Taylor Jordan Munroe Stang. Many brothers and sisters, extended family and friends will miss his smile and kind heart. A Funeral will be held Friday, April 30, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Cornerstone New Testament Church of God, 9620–109 Avenue, Edmonton, AB with Pastor Jonathan Gonyou officiating. Internment will take place at Beechmont Cemetery.

SIRAJUDDIN, Grace
August 14, 1921 — March 31, 2010

On March 31, 2010, Grace Sirajudden went to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 89 years. Grace was born in Sialkot, Pakistan and married Reverend Sirajudden in 1938, Grace visited Canada in 1990 and in 1997 made Canada her permanent home. Survived by her family: five sons, two daughters, 20 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren as well as many friends and relatives in Canada, Pakistan, England and the U.S.A. Predeceased by her husband in 1966. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 3, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Northgate Baptist Church, 13209 — 95 Street, Edmonton, AB, with viewing one hour prior. Burial to follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

RIVA-CAMBRIN, Bunny (Bernice Margaret) (Nee: Young)
September 23, 1926 — April 25, 2010

It is with great sadness that the family of Bunny announces her passing. She died peacefully at Grey Nuns Hospital on Sunday morning. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters: Dianne Kunst and Barbara York-Franklin (Dwight, Ronald) Parkland County; sons: Ken (Elaine), John (Vicky) and Gerry; grandchildren: Trina, Jay, Nicole, Christopher, Jennifer, William, Johnathan, Matthew, Jeremy, April, Jesse, and Jacob; her eight great-grandchildren: Noah, Nathan, Ashley, Homer, Harry, Hermes, August and Soren; sisters Mary Giroux (Ernie), Joan Fortier (Norman) and Barbara Easson (Don). She was predeceased by her husband John; children Day and Randy; parents William and Harriet Young; brothers Alan (Alice), Harwin (Helen), Edward (Fran) Jack; sisters Marjorie Munro (Alvin) and Dorothy (Calvin) Hull. Thanks from the family to the staff of Ward 42 at Grey Nuns Edmonton for their excellent care and compassion. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Providence Centre Chapel, 3005 — 119 Street, Edmonton on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Viewing will take place at Providence Centre Oratory room from 10:00 a.m. — 11:00 a.m. Bunny’s instruction included a request that people dress in bright colors in celebration of her life. In lieu of flowers donations to the Youth Emergency Shelter are encouraged.

PAWLUS, Mike
October 27, 1923 — April 17, 2010

Early in the morning of Saturday, April 17, 2010, Mike Pawlus peacefully left this earth at the age of 87. Mike is lovingly remembered by his wife Anna, his three children: Ala, George, and Andy, daughter-in-law Marisha, four grandchildren: Emilio, Andrew, Michael, and Ashley. NORDELL, Earl Paul
July 7, 1927 — March 25, 2010

Resting in God’s loving arms. Earl Nordell leaves his loving wife Clara; sons: Lane (Carole), Michael (Dianne), Dale, and Darrell (Lara); daughter Darcie; seven grandchildren: Christopher, Jeremy (Shauna), Sean, Jordan, Daria, Liam and Ceilidh; three great-grandchildren: Avery, Emily and Hayden; and two brothers Lloyd (Lorna) and Larry (Deloris). He was predeceased by his mother and father and brother Frank. A Celebration of Earl’s life will be held on Saturday April 10, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Anglican Church (344 Knottwood Road, Edmonton). NOONAN, Nancy May

On April 16, 2010 Nancy Noonan passed away peacefully at the age of 74 years. Nancy will be lovingly remembered by her husband Ronald of 47 years, one brother John (Berna) Parker as well as many friends and relatives. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Melita, Manitoba. Interment will be held in Pipestone, Manitoba. Special thanks to Doctors Lein, Weinkauf and R.N. Cathy Jackson of the Pulmonary Lung Transplant program and Doctors Meier, Gibney and nurses on 3C4 at the University of Alberta Hospital. MOSIUK, Judy Ann

It’s with great sadness that the family of Judy Mosiuk announce her passing of 61 years on April 25, 2010 at the Cross Cancer Institute. She was born in Vegreville, Alberta on December 26, 1948. Judy is survived by her loving husband Victor and son Shaun. Also, by her sister, Marge (Hank) Buehler and brother John (Evelyn) Fedoruk , nieces Dreena and Debbie Fedoruk and Theresa Buehler and nephew, David Buehler as well as numerous other nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends. Judy is predeceased by her parents, Mary and Peter Fedoruk. A Funeral Service will be held at Serenity North Funeral Chapel, 10129 Princess Elizabeth Avenue on Friday, April 30, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Thanks to the doctors and staff at the Cross Cancer Institute. McPHEE, Patricia Anne

Loving grandmother, mother, sister, and friend will be missed by all who knew her, especially by her children and grandchildren Michelle, Grant, Jordan and Brandon, Erin, Dale, Nathan, Tristan, and Emma-Lisa, Michael, Matthew and Rhianna, brother Bruce and wife Joan, sister in law Willie wife of brother (Bob), Annette and Maurice, Aunty Betty, and countless other family and friends. McKIM, Joyce

Mona Joyce passed away peacefully on April 24, 2010 at the age of 92. Born in Shawinigan, Quebec on August 15, 1917. Predeceased by her Manx parents Basil and Florence Wood, brothers Arthur and Reginald and sister Doreen. Joyce married Douglas McKim in 1951 and had two sons Andrew Douglas Madison and Peter Bruce. She leaves to cherish her memory and mourn her loss, her loving family; husband Douglas, eldest son Andrew, daughter-in-law Marilyn and her only grandchild Robin, her other son Bruce, as well as brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews. The family thanks the staff at the Allen Grey Continuing Care Center. A Funeral Service will be held at St. John The Evangelist Anglician Church, 11111–57 Avenue, Edmonton on Wednesday April 28, 2010 at 1:00 p.m., interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. MARTYSHUK, Dwayne Darryl

Dwayne Darryl Martyshuk of Leduc, Alberta passed away on March 26, 2010 in Medicine Hat, Alberta at the age of 54. Dwayne will be sadly missed by his loving family; his daughter Amanda (Scott), granddaughter Briya, son Michael (Candice) and Carmen Korba of Fort McMurray, Alberta. He is also survived by brothers Bryan (Brigitte), Darcy (Bonnie), David (Samira), sisters Kim (Kevin), Junalee, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by parents Peter and Elsie and sister Beverly, as well as numerous relatives. LIBER, Rose Marie
September 21, 1937 — April 23, 2010

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Rose Liber, age 72. She will be sadly missed by her husband John and seven children Valens (Debbie), grandchildren Andrea, Sasha and Jay, Valerie (Gunther), grandchildren Carrie and Cory, Garry (Bill), Charolette, Kevin (Karen), grandchildren Kendra and Justin, son Wade and daughter Cindy. Rose was predeceased by parents Paul and Sophie, and her sister Nancy (Alec). Rose found happiness and love in taking care of her home and family, her devotion and bond with her son Wade was unconditional. Rose found peace and joy in tending to her beautiful garden. Other folks can love you, but only your mother understands; she works for you–looks after you–Loves you, forgives you–We will always cherish her. A Viewing will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Serenity Funeral Chapel at 10129 Princess Elizabeth Avenue Northwest. Divine Liturgy will be held on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at 11:00 a.m., at the Holy Cross Ukrainian Catholic Parish, 9003 — 153 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta. Private interment will follow at a later date. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

LENZ, Edelgard Katarina

Born December 4, 1938 in Gronwalde, East Prussia, Germany passed away peacefully among family April 25, 2010 at the age of 71. She is predeceased by: her parents Otto and Lisbeth Matzigkeit, her brothers Dietmar, Siegfried, Henry, and Wolfgang. She leaves behind her husband Ernst, her only sister Monika Halwass (Bernd), her daughters Dorothy Turek (nee Bushkiel) and Linda Lenz (Andre), son Ron Lenz (Amber Farrell) and five grandchildren: Steven, Marc, Jennifer, Sullivan and Gabriela. A Visitation will be held Friday, April 30, 2010 between 7:00 — 9:00 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Service, 5311–91 Street, Edmonton. The Funeral Service will be held at St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church 7607–89 Street, Edmonton on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. with a reception to follow the interment. LABRENTZ, Reinhard (Ray)

It is with deepest sorrow we announce the sudden passing of Ray Labrentz on Monday, April 26, 2010. He is survived by his loving wife Trudy, their son Randall. Also surviving are brothers and sisters Martha Schulz (Daniel), Aurelie Gretzinger (Assaph), Christa Labrentz, Helmut Labrentz (Erica), Ruben Labrentz (Gisela) and Walter Lietz (Ruby) as well as special nephew Brian Labrentz (Kathy) and special niece Connie Loewen (Trent) as well as numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Leokadia and August and by his brothers Arthur, Erwin and a sister Hildegard. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. from Southside Pentecostal Church 2821 — 109 St. Interment to follow at the South Haven Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at the Church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations are gratefully accepted toward New Life Children’s Home (Haiti). Please make cheques payable to “Zion Baptist Community Church” 9802–76 Avenue. Donations to other charities should be submitted directly by the donor.

KOKOTILO, Catherine (Cathy)

Loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother went to be with her Lord on April 27 at the age of 84 Years. She leaves her only child, Joyce (Lyle) Johnson; grandchildren, Gina (Kevin) Heidebrecht, Chad (Jennifer) Johnson and great-grandsons Josiah Heidebrecht and George Johnson; brother, Sandy (Georgina) Chibree; sisters, Rose Chibree and June Kreizenbeck; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. George, her husband predeceased on February 20, 2010. A Celebration of Cathy’s life will be held Friday, April 30, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Beulah Alliance Church, 17504-98A Avenue, Edmonton.

HOLLAND, Eunice Adeline

On Thursday April 15, 2010 Eunice Holland of Edmonton passed away at the age of 81 years, listening to ‘Christ the Lord has Risen Today’, one of her favorite Hymns. Eunice was predeceased by her parents and her sister Ruth. A Service to Celebrate Eunice’s life will be held at Mount Zion Lutheran Church, 11535 — 135 Street, Edmonton on Friday, April 23, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Her friends would like to thank all the staff at the Good Samaritan Southgate for their patience and kindness.
