Born in Korea on September 29, 1903 in Chikyong Lee Chunbuk, South Korea, Hae-Shin immigrated to Canada in 1971. Hae-Shin is survived by her four daughters; Youngsoon Kim of Seoul, Korea, Kyongsoon Hwang and husband Moonung of Vancouver, Young Hee of Seoul, Korea, Sowha Leckler of Alameda, Calif.; and five sons, Kapsoo Choi and Byonsoo Choi of Seoul, Korea, Chungsoo Choi and his wife Saesoon, Minsoo Choi and his wife Rosemarie and Jinsoo Choi and his wife Jemma, all of Calgary; thirty-six grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Hae-Shin was predeceased by her husband Sanbong and her daughter Ulsun Kim. GOTTKE -- Helen (Nellie) passed away January 24, 1998 at Banff Mineral Springs Hospital at the age of 86 years. Nellie is survived by her loving husband Ted; one beloved daughter Shirley Geyer and her son-in-law Allan Geyer; also her dearly loved and devoted twin grandsons, Russell Geyer, and Warren Geyer and his wife Bonny. Other survivors are one brother-in-law Bill Craig; two sisters-in-law, Lily Anderson and Jean Anderson; also many nieces and nephews; also so many wonderful friends. Nellie was born in Bankhead in 1911 and moved to Banff as a small girl. She was predeceased by her first husband Warren Oxley in 1949. Also both parents and her fourteen brothers and sisters. She was proud to be the last of the Anderson Clan. HOLLAND -- John B. passed away suddenly on January 17, 1998 in his 70th year. Survived and greatly missed by his wife Elizabeth; daughters, Lorraine, Lynn, Leslie; son Brad; and many grandchildren. John had a long and successful career in the Oil Patch making countless friends along the way. He was an extraordinary sportsman, especially ski racing and sailing, who always took time to help those less gifted. At John's request, there will be no Service. HUGHES -- Eileen M. Hughes (nee Glynn) of Calgary, passed away suddenly at the Cedars Villa Nursing Home on Thursday, January 22, 1998 at the age of 84 years. Eileen was a faithful longtime parishioner of St. John's Catholic Church, and a member of the C.W.L. Eileen is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and her husband Gerald Kalyniuk of Calgary, Margaret and her husband Douglas Sanders of Kelowna; four grandchildren, Geoffrey and Elizabeth Kalyniuk, and Stephanie and Michael Sanders. She is also survived by two sisters, Rita Foy of Edmonton, and Sylvia Long of Calgary; and two brothers, Douglas Glynn of Victoria, and Hugh Glynn of Ottawa; as well as their families. KING -- Enid Gwen of High River, known to all who loved her as Nana, died at the High River Hospital on January 25, 1998 at the age of 82, surrounded by her family. She is survived by her loving husband and sweetheart Carman; three sons, Barry (Dianne), John (Vickie) and Sheldon (Gail); and eight grandchildren, Cameron, Catherine, Marty (Cathy), Dale (Janice), Trevor (and special friend Becky), David, Brian, and Karen. She is also survived by her only brother Gary (Edythe) McGregor of Edmonton; and niece Linda (Brian) and their children, Chris and Jennifer; and her nephew Terry (Cheryl) and their daughters, Shelagh and Eileen. She was predeceased by her parents, and her beloved grandson Michael (January 7, 1993) who will be in heaven to greet her. Nana was well-known for her afghans big and small, the baby ones were anticipated by all new mothers and the family looked forward to receiving one for birthdays, Christmas or weddings. Nana will be missed by many for her hugs, smiles and constant interest in everyone around her. MARTIN -- Cameron Benjamin Martin, beloved son of Barry Martin and Lynn Sutherland and younger brother of Brett, passed away peacefully in his parents' arms at the Alberta Children's Hospital on January 25, 1998. Cameron, born August 16, 1996, spent his short life bringing happiness, joy and love to others. He will be sadly missed and remembered forever. Cameron is survived by his parents and brother; his grandparents, Les and Doris Martin of Lethbridge, and Hugh and Ruth Sutherland of Toronto, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Cameron spent most of his life at the Alberta Children's Hospital and had a loving extended family of doctors, nurses, volunteers, and other hospital staff. McLAUGHLIN -- Barry McLaughlin. It is with great sorrow that Barry's family announces his sudden death on January 22, 1998 at the age of 44 years. OLSEN -- Donald Kenneth of Calgary, passed away peacefully at the Rockyview General Hospital on Sunday, January 25, 1998 at the age of 78 years. Donald is survived by brother Walter and wife Laura of Eckville; sisters, Margaret Cunningham of Eckville, Mildred Fraser and husband Russell of Calgary; sister-in-law Audrey Olsen of Eckville; and also special friend Jean Gheran of Calgary; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Donald Olsen was born and raised on the family farm at Eckville. He joined the armed forces in June of 1941, then returned home after the war where he continued to farm until taking employment at the CPR stockyards in Calgary. Upon retiring, he enjoyed bowling and numerous other activities. Donald will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by his family and friends. PAYNE -- On January 25, 1998, Hazel Payne (nee Moore), surrounded by her loving family, passed away peacefully at the Rosedale Hospice. Left to celebrate her life and remember her spirit is her husband, Ralph and her two daughters and a son-in-law, Melody Payne and Carole and Renzo Petrillo; and her beloved grandsons, Anthony and Nicholas Petrillo.
