DRURY, Fay Marie "My Satin Doll"
On May 31, 2002, Mrs. Fay Marie Drury of Edmonton passed away at the age of 70 years. She leaves to mourn her loss, her loving husband, Bob; one son, Robbie of Edmonton; one aunt, Anne Weir of Brooklyn, Ontario and numerous friends and relatives in Edmonton and Ontario. Mrs. Drury was well known in the construcion equipment "Cat" industry in Toronto and Edmonton. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, June 4, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at the Annunciation Church, 9420 - 163 Street, Edmonton. Father Joseph Doucet to officiate and interment in the Beechmount Cemetery, 12420 - 104 Street, Edmonton. Friends wishing to pay their respects may do so from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, June 3 at the Foster and McGarvey Funeral Chapel, 10008 - 103 Street, Edmonton. Many thanks to the caregivers and nurses at the ICU Misericordia Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alberta Lung Association, P.O. GARCIA, Jacinto Jose
On May 30, 2002, Jacinto Jose Garcia of Edmonton passed away at the age of 82 years. Jacinto is survived by two sons, Laudalino (Lucia) and Armindo (Helen); one daughter, Lucrecia (Michael) Gurin; eight grandchildren, Diane, Loreen, Elaine, Bryan, Leanne, Darryl, Joleen and Lana; two great-grandchildren, Justin and Kira, all of Edmonton. He was predeceased by his wife, Maria in 2000 and an infant son, Eusebio. Prayers will be held at Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home on Monday, June 3, 2002 at 8:30 p.m. Reverend Delizio J. Artico, CS will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 12311 - 55 Street, on Tuesday, June 4, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. with Interment to follow at St. Michael's Cemetery. GARGUS, Tekla (Tillie)
On May 31, 2002, Tillie Gargus of Lac La Biche, formerly of St. Michael and Edmonton, passed away at the age of 95 years. Survived by son, Stanley (Rose); and daughter, Liz (Reg) Albrecht all of Lac La Biche; grandchildren, Gerald (Cheryl) of Thorhild, Carol (Gerry) Palichuk of Lamont, Donna (Leslie) Pawlowich of Lac La Biche, Jim (Beth) and Corrie Albrecht, all of Rycroft; great-grandchildren, Ian, Neil and Eric Palichuk, Carla and Kimberly Gargus, Adam and Evan Pawlowich, Ashley, Jesse and Rebekah Albrecht. They were there to say good-bye to Baba. Also survived by her brother, Peter Semashkewich of Edmonton, numerous nieces and nephews and relatives. Prayers Tuesday, June 4 at 8:00 p.m. at St. Catherine's Roman Catholic Church, Lac La Biche, AB. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, June 5 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael The Archangel Roman Catholic Church, St. Michael, AB. HALL, Dr. Lynn Gordon
It is with great sadness that the family of Lynn Hall announce his passing, following a brief illness. He was loved and respected by his daughter, Dorothy (Norman) Sande; his grandchildren, Ken (Cynthia) Sande, Todd (Lisa) Sande and Marguerite (Richard) Tewes; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, David, Evan, Nathan and Trevor. Lynn was predeceased by Clara, his wife of 70 years in 1999 and by his son, F/O Gordon Hall, RCAF in 1953. After graduating from Camrose Normal School (Class of 1926) he taught in a one room school at Lundberg. His next position was in Big Valley where he and Clara operated one of the first dormitory schools in Alberta. The "dorm" housed up to 80 students, many of whom would not otherwise been able to obtain a high school education. In 1942 he became principal in Taber until 1948, when he joined the staff of the Department of Education and moved to Lac La Biche as Superintendent of Schools. After five years he transferred to Wainwright for eight years when he was promoted to High School Inspector, first in Lethbridge and then in Edmonton. He ended his professional career as Director of School Administration in 1972. For 60 years he was a dedicated member of the Lions Club, serving two terms as District Governor, and helping in any capacity that required assistance. At age 93 he was still working at club casinos. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Funeral Services will be held at Trinity United Church, 8810 Meadowlark Road, on Thursday, June 6, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. with Minister Margaret Hetherington officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 10985 - 124 Street, T5M 0H9 or the Canadian Cancer Society, #1200 College Plaza, 8215 - 112 Street, T6G 2C8. HUNKA, Fred
On May 30, 2002 Mr. Fred Hunka of Edmonton passed away at the age of 85 years. This most extraordinary man is loved and will be missed by his wife of 56 years, Alyce; son, Bob (Franny Parrish); granddaughter, Marlee Anna of Los Angeles; Ron (Beth) Holland; and an extended family of nieces, nephews, relatives and many dear friends. A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, June 4, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at the Evergreen Funeral Chapel, 16204 Fort Road, Edmonton. Cremation has taken place. BAICH, Christine Edith
It is with sadness we announce the passing of Christine Baich of Leduc (formerly of Wetaskiwin) on October 15, 2002 at the age of 71 years after a courageous battle with cancer. Chris will be dearly missed by her loving family, her husband of 49 years, Francis; daughter, Cheryl (Orville) Borys; sons, Edward (Bonnie) and Russell (Jenni); grandchildren, Shanna, Travis, Stephanie and Bailey; her brother, Bill and sisters, Helen and Dorothy and many relatives and friends. A Celebration of Christine's life will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at St. David's United Church, 4614 - 48 Street, Leduc with Reverend Blaine Gregg officiating. BOUVIER, Leah Ann Marie
March 6, 1982 - October 15, 2002
Forever in our Hearts After a valiant battle, Leah passed away quietly at Grey Nuns' Palliative Care Unit, surrounded by her loving family. Leah is survived by her mothers Denise Bouvier and Judy Tassie; father Patrick Bouvier; brother Mike; maternal grandparents Audrey and Yvon Vautour; paternal grandparents Annette and Joseph Bouvier; and a large family of aunts, uncles and cousins. A service to celebrate Leah's life will be held on October 19, 2002 beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Bethel Bible Fellowship, 7676 Wagner Road (off 75 Street, south of 63 Avenue). On October 15, 2002 Mrs. Marie Flore Brien of St. Albert passed away at the age of 95 years.
