Mrs. Edna Ethel Odegard of Camrose passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2000 at the age of 82 years. Left to cherish her memory are her loving children Ethel (Mike) Olstad of Camrose; Robert (Kathy) of Edmonton; Mickey (Debra) of Edmonton; Judy (Donald) Durand of Camrose; and David (Laurie) of Stony Plain; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and two brothers Alf and Harry of England; numerous relatives and friends. Edna was predeceased by her husband Edward. Funeral Services were held on Wednesday, May 17 at 11 a.m. from Messiah Lutheran Church. Interment followed in the Camrose Cemetery. Else (Isele) Stucklschwaiger
A long time resident of Fairview, Alberta passed away on March 19 in Fairview, at the age of 85 years.
Else was born on December 29, 1914 at Rheinsberg, Germany.
Else and Hans, her son, came to Canada in 1953 and settled in the Woking area.
They moved to Fairview in 1957, residing in the community ever since.
Else was a homemaker and a cook.
She loved knitting and her grandchildren were the recipients of blankets made with love.
She also enjoyed watching her grandchildren participate in their various activities.
Else could be found watching hockey, volleyball and basketball.
Else was predeceased by: her husband: Johann Stucklschwaiger in 1947; her parents: Ewald and Ida Wenske; and her son: Hans Stucklschwaiger in 1998.
Else is survived by: her daughter-in-law: Marilyn Stucklschwaiger; her granddaughters: Karla, Kim and Kristi Stucklschwaiger; and grandson: Troy Stucklschwaiger, all of Fairview, Ab.
Funeral services for the late Else Stucklschwaiger were held March 24, 2000 at 2:00 pm from the United Church of Fairview with Sandra Bell officiating.
Honorary pallbearers were: Hans Mueller, Tony Prybysh, Manfred Boytinck, Rick Nicholson, Harvey McKeachnie and Marshall Rolling.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Moran Funeral Home.
WEISS, JOSEPH
A long time resident of the Fairview area, passed away on March 27, 2000 in Fairview at the age of 94 years.
Joe Weiss was born on August 11, 1905 in Hungary.
He emigrated to Canada in 1927, arriving in Saskatchewan where he found employment as a farm labourer.
The following year he moved west and came to the Peace River country, settling in the Judah Hill area, near Peace River, Ab.
During the five years at Judah Hill, Joe worked on the railroad.
In 1936 Joe moved to Fairview, where he farmed with his two brothers, until his retirement in 1971.
Joe was a successful farmer and was also interested in anything to do with farming, even long after he retired and moved to town.
Joe Weiss was a member of the Fairview Senior Citizen's Club and enjoyed the weekly card games.
Joe was also an avid reader and enjoyed visiting with his friends.
He made a number of trips back to his homeland to visit friends and relatives in Germany, but he always returned to his farm in Fairview.
Joe was predeceased by his parents: Mathew and Maria; and his two brothers: Mike in 1983 and John in 1993.Joe spent the last six years in Long Term Care in Fairview.
Joe truly appreciated all the love and care he received from the staff there.
Joe's friends knew him as a sincere and quiet man and a good neighbour. He will be sadly missed.
BOWEN, Dorothy Mary
On January 1, 2001 Dorothy Bowen passed away suddenly at the age of 73. She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her precious memories, her loving sons; Shann (Wanda) Bowen and step granddaughter Jewel of Alberta Beach, Danny (Barb) Bowen and granddaughters Tiffiny and Trina of Drayton Valley. Daughters Patty (Kevin) Reeve and grandsons Clint and Kris of Drayton Valley; Karen (Norm) Elwood of Idaho. 1 brother Tommy Anderson of Canmore and 1 sister Barbra Lawrence of Calgary. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Predeceased by her loving husband Okel in December 1999, 4 sisters, 2 brothers and her parents. Service was held on January 6, 2001 at the Lindale Hall. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the cancer society or diabetic foundation. DEAGLE, Charles William
On December 26, 2000 Mr. Charles William Deagle passed away at the age of 88 years at the Drayton Valley Health Complex. Charles was predeceased by his loving wife, Violet in November, 1994 and his son-in-law, Ben Paliwoda in April 1999. He leaves to mourn his loss his eight children, Marilyn (Bill) Summersgill, Charmaine Paliwoda, Richard (Maureen) Deagle, Shannon (Jim) Deagle, Noel (Paulette) Deagle, Robert (Susan) Deagle, Daphne (Vern) Akerlund and Kate (Jack) Morgan. Grandpa (Papa) will be sadly missed by his 15 grandchildren. Charles is also survived by his loving sister-in-law, Florence Deagle, and many nieces and nephews. His family would like to acknowledge his long time friends and neighbors. The family wishes to thank Dr. Peyton and the staff of the Shangri La Lodge and Drayton Valley Health Complex for their compassionate care. A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 30, 2000 at Howard & McBridge of Chimes with Reverend Pat Tracy officiating. Cremation followed. Charles' final resting place is at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
TYRON, Mr. Albert Arthur Alexander
On Friday, December 29, 2000 Mr. Albert Tyron of Breton passed away suddenly at his home at the age of 50 years. He will be sadly missed by his loving family; mother, Mrs. Ann Tyron of Breton; four brothers, Gordon (Mae) of Berrymoor, George (Connie) of Breton, Ben of Breton and Jonah (Cathy) of Drayton Valley; five sisters, Margaret (Allen) Fenneman of Breton, Christine (Ivor) Ellis of Breton, Martha Long of Kinsella, Linda Hernberg of Carnwood, Susan (Wilf) Brandt of Warburg; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Albert was predeceased by his father Chester in 1972 and brother in law Harold Long. Funeral Services were held at the Breton Community Hall on Friday, January 5, 2001 at 2:30 P.M. with Mrs. Muriel Campbell officiating, and interment followed at the Breton Community Cemetery. On Thursday, May 30, 2002 Mrs. Joan Armstrong of Edmonton passed away at the age of 71 years. Joan is survived by her loving husband, Joseph; two sons, Todd of Bobcaygen, Ontario and Jeff of Edmonton; sister, Winnifred Montgomery of Calgary; and brother, Sidney Hudson of Viking. AUBERT, Alice (nee Groleau)
On May 31, 2002, after a challenging illness, Alice Aubert, formerly of Manoir St. Joachim, passed away at the age of 97 years. She leaves to mourn her passing her daughter, Rose Marie (Noel) Constantin of Edmonton; five grandchildren, George (Norma) Constantin, Dallas, Texas, Bernard (Jin-Young) Constantin, Suzanne (Gary) McAmmond, Paulette (Richard) Hale and Lise (Ken) Moffitt all of Edmonton; six great-grandchildren, Christine, Michael and Danielle McAmmond, Kristen, Jason and Nicholas Hale; her sister, Mary-Blanche Phillips and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Jean; her son, George; one brother and three sisters. CLEAVER, Darryl Ralph
On May 28, 2002 Darryl Ralph Cleaver of Gibbons, Alberta passed away at the age of 25 years. He is survived by his mother, Mabel; brothers, Dale (Lyne); Dennis (Donna); sister, Dianne; grandmother, Ella; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, one niece and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Ralph in 1996. On May 29, 2002, Mrs. Catherine Elsie Cross of Edmonton passed away at the age of 90 years. She was predeceased by one daughter, Margaret Elaine Cross on July 19, 1998.
