FOX -- Mrs. Anna (Jackie) Fox, beloved wife of Mrs. George Fox of Calgary, passed away peacefully at her residence on January 9, 1998, following an extended illness at the age of 79 years. She will be affectionately remembered as a devoted wife, lovig mother and proud grandmother. Besides her loving husband, Anna is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas and Ann Fox of St. Louis, Missouri, Ken and Janice Fox of Las Vegas, Nevada; and six grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother Arnold Shackman and a sister Lily Gurvitch, both of Calgary. She was predeceased by two sisters, Bessie Rintoul and Florie Boresky. McLAREN -- Reverend Dr. R.A. (Bob) McLaren died peacefully on Friday, January 9, 1998, surrounded by his family. Born in Crossfield, Alberta in 1910, he was the founder of the Naramata Centre for the United Church of Canada and spent seventeen tireless years launching the Leadership Training School for lay people. As well, Bob was the Field Secretary in B.C. for four years and served as minister for Pouce Coupe, B.C., Castor, AB, Renfrew United Church in East Vancouver, and for Cadboro Bay United in Victoria. He is survived by his wife Alleen; his daughter Betty Richards (Allan, Debbie and Stratos, Ted and Nicole, Michelle and Brad), Bob McLaren (Robbie and Roland), Kenn McLaren (Chris and Lonnie), and predeceased by his son Edwin McLaren. MITCHELL -- Douglas Scott. The beloved son of Mrs. Lena Mitchell died on January 2, 1998 at age 52. PERRETT -- Charles, beloved husband of Evelyn Perrett of Calgary, passed away at the Peter Lougheed Hospital on January 8, 1998 at the age of 77 years. He is the loving father of Mavis (John) Kroeger, Wayne (Judy) Perrett, Don Perrett, Robert Perrett Debra (Stephen) Thor, Raymond Perrett, Norman (Arlene) Perrett, Charlene (Lyle) Gilroy and Kevin Perrett, all of Calgary. Charles is also survived by his six grandchildren, Ken, Greg, Misti, Kimberly, Jessica and Jordan; his four great-grandchildren, Nikolai, Matthew, Kyle and Raquell; as well as his five sisters, Vera, Dorothy, Hilda, Evelyn and Margaret; his brother Jack; and numerous nieces and nephews. VANCE -- Ellen (Ellie) Beatrice Vance, (nee Mayhew) of Calgary, passed away suddenly at home on January 7, 1998, at the age of 83 years. Ellie was born November 3, 1914 in Calgary, and spent her childhood years in the Glenmore district. She gained he love of gardening and flowers from her parents, Fred and Emma, who owned and operated Mayhew Market Garden. Ellie was still an avid gardener and enjoyed her flower gardening until her death. She met and married Dexter (Dex) in the early thirties. As a young family they lived in (Fort William) Thunder Bay from 1942 until 1947 and then returned to Calgary, purchasing their home in the Windsor Park area, where Ellie resided until her passing. She is the loving mother of three sons, a daughter and three daughters-in-law, Robert and Heather Vance of Bragg Creek, Fred and Violette Vance of Red Deer, Vallory Vance, Lorne and Debbie Vance, all of Calgary; seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews and valued friends. Ellie is predeceased by her husband "Dex" and two brothers, Frederick "Scotty" and Billey Mayhew. GAJDA -- Adeline Mary passed away at the Agape Manor Hospice after a courageous battle with cancer on January 9, 1998, at the age of 65 years. HAY -- David James of Calgary, formerly of Vulcan, went to by with his Lord on January 10, 1998. He passed away at the age of 74 years at the Rockyview General Hospital. He is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Grace; son Jeff (Fay); daughterDana (Garth Johnson); three grandchildren, Erik, Tanis and Kara; his three sisters, Betty Hunte (Dr. Gordon), Anne Davidson (Brian), all of Calgary, and Nettie Cunningham of Seattle; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. He was a caring and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, in-law and friend. He worked at Dominion Bridge for thirty-eight years, was active in the community and his church. NIEBOER -- Fred Nieboer passed away at the Rockyview General Hospital on Saturday, January 10, 1998 at the age of 89 years. Fred is survived by his devoted wife Lillian; his children, Walter (Shirley) Nieboer, Joanne (Harry) Vankeimpema, Nell (Tom) Sith, and Frank (Louise) Nieboer; stepsons, Walter (Heather) Wilderman and Wayne (Terry) Wilderman; fourteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Fred was born in Vlaardingen, The Netherlands in 1908, immigrated with his family to Canada in 1951 and settled in Calgary where he worked as an accountant until he retired. He was predeceased by his first wife Johanna in 1970.
