April 12, 1929 Rheden, Holland -
December, 3, 2004 Lacombe, Alberta
Dina passed away suddenly at her home and is now with her Lord and Saviour.
Dina was the ninth child of 14. Dina married Wouter Vleeming on June 13, 1951. They had a dairy and hog farm in Arnhem, Holland. God blessed Dina and Wout with five children in Holland. In 1970 they moved their entire family and immigrated to Canada. Purchasing a farm west of Ponoka, Alberta, they started up a dairy operation. In 1971, their sixth and last child was born, the only Canadian. Wouter and Dina retired in 1980 from farming and did some traveling. Destinations included several trips to B.C., Holland and Hawaii. Dina was predeceased by Wouter in 1998. In 1993 Dina moved to Lacombe; it was a wise move and some of the happiest days of her life. Many hours were spent crocheting, knitting, walking, spreading cheer and laughter, persevering in all things, praying for and helping others and enjoying time with her many friends, church family and most of all, her immediate family.
Dina will be sadly missed by her children; Huibert (Dorothy) Vleeming of Ponoka, Gerry (Peter) Prins of Lacombe, Bert (Melanie) Vleeming of Ponoka, Niesje Vleeming (Dwayne Heinz) of Wetaskiwin, Sabina (Marinus) Keijzer of Grassy Lake and Randall (Jennifer) Vleeming of Blackfalds, 19 grandchildren, relatives and many friends.
A Family Burial Service was held at Ponoka Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on December 8, 2004. A Service Celebrating her Life was held at 2:00 p.m. at Bethel Christian Reformed Church, 5704 - 51 Avenue, Lacombe, Alberta. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to wfch@telusplanet.net (Subject: Vleeming).
