Adeline Alma (nee Ziebarth) Knapp of Red Deer, AB., (formerly of Wetaskiwin and Elnora), beloved mother and grandmother, passed away suddenly Saturday, October 5, 2002 at the age of 68. Adeline is survived by her sons Rodney (Judy), Calvin (Brenda), Dennis, Stewart (Shelley), Cory and her grandchildren Jillian, Levi and Dylan. She is also survived by her sisters Ellen Stright, Jeanette Ziebarth, nieces, nephews and other Ziebarth family members. She is fondly remembered by Pat, Nora, Lloyd and Eileen, the extended Knapp family and numerous friends. Adeline was predeceased by her parents Martha and Rudolph, her siblings, Ervin, Gladys, Edwin and brother-in-law Ron Stright. A Service of Remembrance will be held in Adeline's honour, Friday, October 11, 2002 at 2 pm. at Sunnybrook United Church, 12 Stanton Street, Red Deer, AB (347-6073) with Reverend Mark Green officiating. KORTH, Ivan
Ivan Walter Korth of Lacombe passed away suddenly on Tuesday, October 8, 2002 at the age of 63 years. Ivan will be lovingly remembered by his family; wife Elenor, his children, Ronald Korth of Gibbons, Threasa (Donald) Olson of Benalto, Tammy Korth, Penny (Scott) Ure of Innisfail and six treasured grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Caroline Maxson, Marion (Gerald) Gordon, Ileen (Wendell) Miller, Delbert (Judy) Korth, Norman (Irene) Korth and Gordon (Cheryl) Korth, as well as a host of friends. Ivan was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Agnes Korth. A Memorial Service will be held at the Benalto Elks Hall, Benalto, AB, on Saturday, October 12, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. LUND
Norm Lund of Wetaskiwin, Alberta, passed away October 5, 2002 at the age of 62. He is survived by his wife, Betty of 37 years and his children, Michael Lund and Lorene (Trevor) Feidelleck, one grandson, Justin and a surrogate daughter, Ingrid Braathen. He is also survived by his three sisters, Rita Palmer, Patricia (Jack) Knapp, Leona (Gary) May and three brothers, Al (Kathy) Lund, Larry Lund and Grant (Jan) Lund. He was predeceased by his parents, Marjorie and Albert Lund. He will be missed by his many relatives and wonderful friends. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, October 12, 2002 at the United Church in Wetaskiwin (5115-51 Ave.) at 2:30 p.m. Donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

Mrs. Pansy Annice Mitchell (nee Kish) of Red Deer, passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Thursday, October 3, 2002. She was born March 12, 1916. Pansy is survived by her two brothers; Gerald (Leda) of Red Deer, Telford (Pat) of Port Angeles, Washington as well as several nieces and one nephew. She is also survived by her two loving caregivers; Loretta and Lisa. She was predeceased by her husband Vernal in July of 1992, her parents, Martin and Opal Kish, her brother, Howard and her sister, Celia. A Graveside Service will be held at the Red Deer Cemetery on Friday, October 11, 2002 at 2:00 p.m.
SINGH, Jagir
Mr. Jagir Singh, beloved husband of Mrs. Simar Singh of Red Deer, passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Friday, September 27, 2002 at the age of 76 years. Jagir was born on January 9, 1926, at Nurpur, India. He then moved to Multan, Pakistan in 1927. After farming there for twenty years, Jagir moved back to India. During Partition in 1947, Jagir lost his father. He settled in Lamma, Punjab and continued the family business of farming. In 1983, Jagir moved to Canada and established his residence in Red Deer, where he resided until his passing. Jagir is survived by his beloved wife, Simar Kaur, five sons; Malkit Singh and his wife, Surjit Kaur of Red Deer, Nishan Singh and his wife, Surinder Kaur of Calgary, Alberta, Mastan Singh and his wife, Surinder Kaur of Punjab, India, Gurmit Singh and his wife, Ravinder Kaur of Red Deer, Palwinder Singh and his wife, Karen Dhanoa of Edmonton, Alberta and a daughter, Surinder Kaur and her husband, Kewal Singh of Punjab, India,. Jagir is also survived by twenty-three grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Funeral Services for the late Mr. Jagir Singh will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapel, 4820 - 45th Street, Red Deer on Friday, October 11, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. Cremation entrusted to Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta.
STANNARD, Ernest William
Mr. Ernest William Stannard, beloved husband of Mrs. Muriel Violet Stannard of Calgary, Alberta, passed away at the Rockyview Memorial Hospital in Calgary on Tuesday, October 8, 2002 at the age of 77 years. Ernie was born in Lomond, Alberta on April 29, 1925. He spent twenty-five years as a farmer and twenty-two years working for Woodwards. Ernie was the strength of the family and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Due to many years in retirement, he did many different hobbies and kept busy growing beautiful flowers. Ernie is survived by his loving wife, Muriel, two sons; William Stannard of Calgary, Alberta and Jack Stannard and his wife, Carol of Priddis, Alberta, three daughters; Heather Coady of Clairmont, Alberta, Bonnie and her husband, David Robottom of Calgary, Alberta and Debbie and her husband, Michael Nevett of Calgary, Alberta, six grandchildren; Joe, Trish, Greg, Jason, Nicholas and Nathan, two great grandchildren, Kane and Taylor, four brothers; Cliff and Marge of Red Deer, Bruce of Didsbury, Alberta, Donald and Elaine of Winfield, Alberta and Joe and Dolly of Spruceview, Alberta, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by both his parents, three brothers and two sisters. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects one hour prior to the service. A Celebration of Ernie's Life will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapel, 4820 - 45th Street, Red Deer on Saturday, October 12, 2002 @ 1:00 with Leanne V. Hall officiating. BARNES, Ernest Walter
1920-2003
Ernest "Ernie" Barnes passed away peacefully at the Innisfail Hospital on Saturday, May 31, 2003 at the age of 83 years. He is survived by his children, Linda of Penhold, Mike (Jan) of Penhold, Kerry of Grande Prairie, Barb (Glenn) Cornell of Red Deer and daughter-in-law Joan Barnes of Sundre; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren; brother Lewis of Trail, B.C.; sisters Myrt Long and Etta (Max) Sweet of Ponoka; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Evelyn and son Eric; his parents Osmond and Cora Barnes; sisters Donna, Lula and Gail; and his brother Harold. Ernie lived a full and active life; first, as a farmer and then as a member of the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires from which he retired at the age of 74. Funeral Services will be held from the Bowker Funeral Home, 5137 50th Avenue, Ponoka on Thursday, June 5, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Andrew Burnand officiating. CARLYLE, Archibald David
Mr. Archibald David Carlyle (Archie) of Blackfalds passed away on May 31, 2003 at home. Born in Chesterville, Ontario on September 2, 1912 Archie was raised and educated in the Edmonton area. He began farming in the Blindman Valley in the mid - 1930's. Archie was a member of the Rural Electrification Board when power was first brought to the Blindman Valley. He helped to establish the first Blindman Valley 4-H beef club. He was a long standing member of the board of the Aspelund Mutual Telephone Company. Archie was a past chairman of the Lacombe School Board. In 1993 Archie was awarded the Canada 125 Medal For Community Service. The Bentley community and the Bentley United Church were integral parts of his life. Archie was predeceased by his wife, Sarah (Heenan), in 1993 and by his siblings Helen, Donald, Robert, Jean, Bill, and Marion. Archie leaves to mourn: his children, Donna (Dean) Suggett of Edmonton, David (Patsy) of Blackfalds, Nancy (Rich) Bailey of Toronto, and Lynda (Terry) Morgan of Red Deer, 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He will be very fondly remembered by other relatives and many friends. Memorial services will be held at the Bentley United Church on Saturday June 7, 2003 at 11:00 AM. Cremation.
