Besides her loving husband of fifty-seven years, she leaves to mourn her passing her son Douglas of Calgary; and her grandchildren, Jffery and Dan of Calgary, and Claire and Andrew of Toronto. She was predeceased by her son George, her brother Harold, and her sister Marjorie. Kay was born and raised in Saskatchewan. She came to Alberta in the 1930's, and lived in Medicine Hat and Calgary. At the request of the family, there will be no Funeral Service. Cremation will take place. HOLLINGSWORTH -- James (Jim) W. Hollingsworth passed away suddenly at his residence in Calgary on December 31, 1997 at the age of 46 years. He is survived by his son Jason (Patsy) Hollingsworth of Okotoks, AB; his brothers, Pat of Mirror, AB, Grant ad Paul of Cloverdale, B.C., and John of Beaverbank, N.S.; sisters, Christine Jeffery, Joanne Hollingsworth of Beaverbank, N.S., and Dianne Wight of Kelowna, B.C. Jim was born in Welland, Ontario, the fourth eldest of eight children. He joined the C.A.F. at eighteen years old and served two stints in Cypress with the U.N. as a member of the Canadian Airborne Division. He successfully raced Standardbred race horses at Calgary and Edmonton for ten years. For the last ten years, Jim worked in the building trade. Jim will be sadly missed by family and friends. KNIGHT -- Lillian Hope Knight (nee Brown), beloved wife of Mr. Jack Knight of Calgary, passed away at the Rockyview Hospital on January 4, 1998 after a courageous battle with cancer. Lillian was born on December 5, 1939. She attended the Teachers Colege of P.E.I. and received her Bachelors of Education at the University of Calgary after moving here in 1962. Lillian was married to Jack on July 23, 1988. She was an elementary school teacher for the Catholic School Board and was also a member of the A.T.A. Besides her loving husband Jack, Lillian is also survived by her two sons, Ross Schneider, and Kyle and his wife Carla Schneider, all of Calgary. She is the loving mother of two stepsons, Randy Knight of Vancouver, Rick and Carol Knight of Calgary; three stepdaughters, Kathryn and Fred Hurdman, Kim and Brent Kearl, all of Calgary, and Karolyn and Mark Donnelly of Vancouver. She is also survived by two brothers, Ray and his wife Eileen Brown of P.E.I., and Jim Brown of Calgary; five sisters, Iris of Kingston, Ont., Joan Fitzgerald and Velma, both of P.E.I., Mary and Claude White of Toronto, and Betty and Ralph Callahan of St. Thomas, Ontario. Lillian was predeceased by both parents and three brothers, Ted (Jean), Victor (Loretta) and Desmond. LANDER -- Allyne passed away at the Forest Grove Care Centre in Calgary on January 4, 1998 at the age of 96 years. A long-time resident of Calgary, Allyne spent her early years in Airdrie, Scotland before coming to Canada. Between her stays in Calgar, Allyne spent a number of years in Revelstoke, BC, Critchley, AB and Big Valley, AB. Allyne was predeceased by her husband Earl Ellison in 1950. She is survived by her four sons, Neil (Peggy) Ellison of Airdrie, AB, Bob (Lorine) Ellison, Jud (Judy) Shearing and Bond Lander, all of Calgary; as well as her foster son Jim (Sharon) Akitt of Nanaimo, BC. Also surviving are her sister Margaret Brown of Red Deer; her sister-in-law Doris Robertson of Olds, AB; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Among Allyne's more cherished memories were the years she spent on the staff of Calgary Associate Clinic. At Allyne's request there will be no Funeral Service. LOCKWOOD -- Mr. Glenn Edwin Lockwood, passed away at the Colonel Belcher Hospital on January 3, 1998 at the age of 90 years. He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his family, his wife Kathleen (Betty); and three sons, Robert, Glenn Jr. and Frak; and by his many friends in the Military, the Petroleum Industry and the Alberta Motor Association. Glenn was born in Calgary on September 9, 1907. He had a distinguished military career, rising to the rank of Major, and participating in the first wave of the Normanday Invasion in 1944, for which he was awarded an M.B.E. After being seriously wounded a month and a half later, he returned to Calgary for a lengthy convalescence, and resumed his civilian life in 1946, building a home in Elbow Park and raising his three sons. His working life involved many years as a Landman in the petroleum business. He was active on the local and provincial boards of the Alberta Motor Association, finally being elected President in 1975. In that same year he became President of the Ranchman's Club of Calgary. Later years saw much enjoyable travel with his wife Betty. The family would like to extend sincerest gratitude to the nursing staff of the Colonel Belcher Hospital, Third Floor, for all the care and affection shown him during his residency there. MARSHALL -- James (Jim) Ernest Marshall, beloved husband of Mrs. Jean Marshall of Calgary, passed away at the Foothills Hospital on January 4, 1998, after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 76 years. Jim was born in Vivian, Manitoba and atended Queen's Valley School in Manitoba. Jim met his wife Jean in Manitoba and married in 1946. He served overseas as a member of the P.P.C.L.I. in World War II. Jim served in North Africa, Italy and Holland. At the end of the war, he received a honorable discharge. In 1946, Jim was employed by Canada Metal Company in Winnipeg and then transferred to Calgary in 1954 to open a new branch. He took a semi-retirement in 1975 and shortly after started a rental company with a friend in 1977. Here in Calgary, Jim was an active member in the R.C.L. Branch No. 264 and the Elks Golf Club. He was always active in many sports such as golf, curling, baseball and horseshoes. Jim will be remembered for his sense of fair play and sportsmanship. Besides his loving wife, Jim is also survived by his children, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Murray Marshall, Ron and Lori Marshall, all of Calgary; four grandchildren, Colin, Darlene, Steven and Dylan. He is also survived by three brothers, Charles, Arthur and Ken; a sister Dorothy McLaughlin; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Jim is predeceased by his parents, Stephen and Minnie, as well as two brothers, Jack and Robert. NEUERT -- Mrs. Anna Christina Neuert of Calgary, passed away peacefully at the Beverly Care Centre on Saturday, January 3, 1998 at the age of 94 years. Anna is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Ron (Marilyn) of Calgary and Wes (Marion) of Mision Viejo, California; five grandchildren, Tara (Don) Stenhouse, Tania (Tim) Kelba, Kent (Kim) Neuert, Eleanor (Larry) Covey, and Lori (Michael) Biard; two great-grandsons, Tyler and Nolan; a brother Walter Johnson; and a sister-in-law Nita Johnson; as well as nieces, nephews and other family members. She was predeceased by her husband Harry in 1959. PEARCE -- Mr. Ernie Pearce, beloved husband of Mrs. Florence Pearce of Calgary, passed away at the Fanning Care Centre on Sunday, January 4, 1998 at the age of 87 years. Ernie was born in India on February 17, 1910, where his father was stationed wit the British Army. After returning to England, they immigrated to Canada and homesteaded in the Bowden area. Ernie and Florence moved to Calgary in October of 1947. Besides his loving wife, Ernie is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Judi Pearce, Wayne and Patricia Pearce; a daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Ray Trottier, all of Calgary; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Ernie was predeceased by his son Douglas in 1996. Iona, a native Calgarian was born on December 12, 1915. SINGLETON -- passed away suddenly on December 31, 1997 at Pincher Creek, Alberta, Ethel Audrey Singleton at the age of 67 years. Eth was predeceased by her loving husband Lionel and is survived by her beloved children, grandchildren and great-grandchldren, Gail (Ron) Feist, Meghan and Joshua; Lynette Church (Michael Church), Victoria, Sarah, Elizabeth and David; Faye (Lorne) Cleland, Courtney, Jennafer and Katelyn; Kevin (Stephanie), Tom and Kris; Karen (Gary) Snider, Devin and Lindsay. Eth is also survived by her brother-in-law Cliff Singleton of Pincher Creek; and her siblings, Cyril, Grace, Joyce and Dilwyn, who reside in Wales. Eth was born January 21, 1930 in Aylmer, Ontario and spent her growing years in Wales, U.K. In 1972, Eth and Lionel came back to Calgary, Canada and then on to Pincher Creek in 1981 where they resided until their deaths. Eth had many loves and interests. She enjoyed her woodcraft projects, movies, sing-a-longs around the campfire. She also liked to travel, but most important to her were her children and grandchildren whom she adored. She felt she was truly blessed. Gramma tried to attend all the activities of her grandchildren. "Someday we hope to meet you, Someday, we know not when, We shall meet you in a better land, And never part again." To us, she is our Mom, Gramma, sister-in-law and truly wonderful friend. She will be greatly missed with deep love and gratitude for everything. For just being her! WOJEWODA -- Boleslaw Wojewoda, beloved husband of Wanda of Calgary, passed away at the Peter Lougheed Centre on January 4, 1998 at the age of 82 years. He is survived by two sons, Edward Ryan of Vancouver Island and Ted Wojewoda of Calgary; a daughte and son-in-law, Kathy and Derek Batorowski and their daughter Monika of Calgary; and two stepsons, Matthew (Zophie) Rybicki of Poland, and Walter (Krystyna) Rybicki, and their sons, Michael, Paul and Peter, all of Calgary. He was a Polish War Veteran and member of the Polish Combatants Association No. 18. He was predeceased by his first wife Martha in 1962.
