BATEMAN

Clarence Bateman of Red Deer beloved husband of the late Margaret Bateman, passed away at the Red Deer Nursing Home, Friday, June 1, 2001 at the age of 91 years. Clarence was born at Wolseley, Saskatchewan on August 20, 1909. On January 12, 1932 he was married to Margaret Butz at Wetaskiwin. Clarence served in the RCAF during WWII. They homesteaded at Alder Flats and remained there until 1958 when they moved to Red Deer. He is survived by his children, Betty (John) Holtz of Edmonton, Ken (Zola) of Red Deer, Doreen (Eldon) Herber of Red Deer, Mary (Dave) Gavine of Vancouver, British Columbia, Len (Joan) of Blackfalds, Barry (Lesley) of Red Deer, thirteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sisters, Edna, Rita and his twin Nina, brothers Gilbert, Harold and Earl. Funeral Services will be held from the "67TH STREET CHAPEL" of the Red Deer Funeral Home, 6150-67TH Street, Red Deer, on Tuesday, June 5, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. conducted by the Reverend John Yoos. Interment will follow at the Alto-Reste Cemetery. In memory of Clarence, donations may be made to the Red Deer Nursing Home, 4736 30 Street, Red Deer T4N 5H8 Funeral arrangements in care of the Red Deer Funeral Home & Crematorium (67th Street) Chapel. BOLZE

Mrs. Margarete R. Bolze of Red Deer passed away at her home, in the Parkvale Lodge, on Friday, May 11, 2001 at the age of 85 years. Margarete was born on April 22, 1916 in Germany and immigrated to Canada in 1950. She met Fred Bolze and the couple were married later in 1950. They then farmed together in the Valley Centre district while raising their family. She is survived by her sister and several nieces, nephews and cousins, locally and in Germany. Margarete was predeceased by her husband Fred in 1988; and her daughter, Marlene in 1970. A celebration of Margarete Bolze's life will be held at the Eventide Funeral Chapel, Red Deer, on Friday, May 18, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. Urn burial will follow in the family plot Alto-Reste Cemetery. BRADLEY

Donald Orr Bradley, born December 8, 1928 passed away Monday, June 11, 2001 at the Tom Baker Cancer Clinic in Calgary. Don is survived by his wife Rose, daughter Colleen (Mike), grandchildren, Peter, Andrew, Scott and David, and his brother Milton. He was predeceased by his sons Tim and Michael and his brother Pat. Don worked for over 25 years with the Candaian National Railway and was a past president of the Red Deer Chamber of Commerce, the Red Deer Kiwanis Club and a volunteer with the City Development Board. Don was a member of the Red Deer Golf & Country Club, was an avid golfer and spent many years helping young golfers in the junior golf program. Don and Rose have lived with the pain of the loss of their two sons for many years and he is now at peace with them. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 6 McMillan Avenue in Red Deer by Father John Riffel, on Friday, June 15, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at the Alto Reste Cemetery. BUCHHOLZ

Mr. Karl Friedrich Jacob Buchholz passed away suddenly at his residence in Lumby, B.C. on Friday, May 25th, 2001 at the age of 87 years. He is survived by one son, Karl H. Buchholz of Sylvan Lake, Alberta; one daughter, Sylvia Dilworth of Richmond, B.C.; four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. In respecting Karl's wishes, he was cremated and there will be no funeral service held. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of Karl Buchholz to the B.C. Heart & Stroke Foundation, #202-3402-27th Avenue, Vernon, B.C., V1T 1S1. Cremation arrangements were made with Bethel Funeral Chapel Ltd., 5605-27th Street, Vernon, B.C., V1T 8Z5. CALVERLEY

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our loving mother and grandmother. Gwendolyn Patricia Calverley (nee: Stewart) passed away on June 5, 2001 at the age of 78 years. Gwen was predeceased by her husband Michael in 1998. Gwen was born in Penhold on March 9, 1923. She attended Ontario Agriculture College in Guelph receiving a diploma in Home Economics in 1950. It was there that she met and married Mike in 1950. She and Mike moved back to Alberta in 1952 and farmed in the Penhold area for almost 30 years before retiring to Red Deer in 1980. Gwen was an excellent mentor, a very caring and devoted mother and wife. She was very fond of gardening and was also an excellent writer with a strong mind for reciting poetry and song. Gwen is survived by her daughter Joan Southworth (Keith) and grandsons Michael and Marty Southworth of Salmon Arm, B.C., her son Ross (Pat) of Innisfail, her son Tony (Laura) of Ft. McMurray, her daughter Anne Range (Harry) and grandchildren Lisa and Peter Range of Cochrane and daughter Rosemary (and her beloved cat "Dreamer") of Red Deer. She is also survived by her brother Jack (Dorothy) Stewart of Calgary, sisters Betty Farvolden (Ralph) of Edmonton and Kathleen Gallagher of Calgary. She will be sadly missed. A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 11, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Leonard's Anglican Church, corner of 43rd Avenue and 44th Street, Red Deer with the Venerable Archdeacon Derek Hoskin officiating. Charitable donations may be made to the Parkinson's Society of Southern Alberta, 480D-36th Avenue S.E., Calgary, AB. T2G 1W4 or to Friends of Children with Special Needs c/o the Children's Services Centre, 401-5000 Gaetz Avenue, Red Deer, AB. T4N 6C2. CAMERON

Bonita Jean Cameron (Bonnie) of Innisfail, Alberta passed away after a battle with cancer on the 20th of May, 2001 at the age of 60 years. Bonnie is predeceased by her husband, Claude Allan Cameron (Barney); mother, Ethal May Gill; father, Calvin Leslie Bingham; and father-in-law, Claude Gordon Cameron (Jock). Bonnie is survived by her children, Jennette and husband John Dolson of Calgary, Alberta, Bruce Cameron of Windsor, Ont., James Cameron of Calgary, AB.; four grandchildren, Allan O'Brien of Innisfail, AB., Shaundy and Matthew Smith of Calgary, Gemma Cameron of Windsor, Ont. Also, her dear mother-in-law, Mary Cameron of Hamilton, Ont. Her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Donna and Dave Brady of Toronto, Ont. As well as her sisters, Sharon Anderson of Victoria, B.C., Sue and Dave Godding of Surrey, B.C., Joanne and Wes Hulberg of Saudi Arabia, Brenda Bingham of Tsawwassen, B.C. and her stepfather Cecil Gill of Caroline, AB., stepmother Aileen Bingham of Sylvan Lake, AB. There are many nieces and nephews. While in the Military, Bonnie met her husband Barney of 40 years, in Sennetterre, Quebec. Bonnie became a military wife and lived in the following places: Kirkland Lake, Hamilton, Moosenee, Ont., Yorkton, Sask., Hamilton, Souix Lookout, Ont., Shilo, Man. and Innisfail, AB. Bonnie worked at many jobs in Innisfail from Innisfail Hotel, CFB Penhold Cleaners to Innisfail Health Care Center to becoming a Financial Adviser. Bonnie put everything into all she did. We would like to send our most heartfelt thanks to Dr. Miller and Dr. Jarvis for the wonderfully exceptional care Mom received and most of all to the Nurses and the staff at the Innisfail Health Care Center, as well as the cleaners and all those who looked after Bonnie in the Palliative Care Room. She received exceptional care by considerate and compassionate staff to which we extend our very deepest gratitude. There will be a visitation on Friday, May 25, 2001 at 7:00 p.m. at the Metcalf Funeral Chapel, 4200 49 Avenue, Innisfail, Alberta. The Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 26, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. at the Innisfail United Church, 4720 48 Avenue, Innisfail, Alberta with the Reverend Ken Wells officiating. Interment will follow at the Innisfail Cemetery. A Reception will follow at the Royal Canadian Legion Auditorium, Innisfail following the Interment Service. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Innisfail Health Care Center Memorial Fund, Palliative Care, Innisfail, Alberta. CAMERON

Mr. Kenneth (Ken) Alexander Cameron passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on Sunday, May 13, 2001 at the age of 66 years. Ken was born on October 21, 1934 at Hanna, Alberta. He will be missed greatly by his brothers, Doug (Lorraine) Cameron of Assiniboia, Saskatchewan and James Cameron of Calgary, Alberta; his sister, Kathleen (Fred) Whymark of Hype, Alberta; and cousins, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews and friends. Ken was predeceased by his parents, Florence and James Cameron; a brother, J. Duncan (Dunc) Cameron and a sister, Marion R. Cameron. A Memorial Service will be held at the Parkland Funeral Home, 6287-67A Street, Red Deer on Sunday, May 20, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. with The Reverend Mark Green officiating. Interment will follow in the Youngstown Cemetery on Monday, May 21, 2001. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Canadian Hemophilia Society or the Sunnybrook United Church Memorial Fund, 12 Stanton Street, Red Deer, T4N 0B8. CHALMERS

Mrs. Lois Grace Chalmers (nee Doty) passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on May 17, 2001 at the age of 73 years. Lois was born on January 12, 1928 on a farm east of Red Deer and grew up on a farm north of Eckville. She met and married Tom Chalmers on June 30, 1956. She is survived by her loving husband, Tom; daughter Linda; and son Doug; her sister Lila (Jim) Kauffman; her brother-in-law Eric Gilbey; and five nieces and one nephew. Lois was predeceased by her parents, Art and Grace Doty; her brother Doug; two sisters, Irene (Pat) Gilbey and Evelyn Doty; and a nephew Rod Himes. Funeral Services will be held at the Parkland Funeral Home, 6287 67A Street, Red Deer on Tuesday, May 22, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. with the Reverend Mark Green officiating.
