It is with great sadness that Ray's family announces his passing on Sunday, June 23, 2002 at the age of 86 years. Ray and Freda moved to their farm west of Red Deer in March 1948. Ray was passionate about his family, farming, gardening and nature; especially his birds and his horses. He had a terrific memory for dates and details of life's events, and enjoyed telling stories and jokes with his many acquaintances. Ray was kind, honest, generous and often "highly opinionated" and we are all richer for having shared his life. Ray leaves to mourn his loving wife of 60 years, Freda; daughters, Carol (Bob) Cunningham and their sons, Tim (Brenda Lee) and Kelly, Darleen (Allan) Nielsen and their children, Jacquelynn, Jeffrey (Jennifer and Ray's great grandchild, Bianca), Andrea and Amy, and grandson, Leslie Paul, numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members. Predeceased by his adopted son, Dorian (1972) and daughter Barbara (1989) as well as his parents, Fred and Eva, five brothers and one sister. A Celebration of Ray's life will be hosted at Eventide Funeral Chapel, 4820-45th Street, Red Deer on Friday, June 28, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. with The Reverend John Yoos (long time friend of Ray and Freda) officiating. Viewing will be held between 12:00 and 1:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Alto-Reste Cemetery, Red Deer. If desired, Memorial Tributes in Ray's honour may be made to S.T.A.R.S., Box 570, 1441 Aviation Park N.E., Calgary, AB. T2E 8M7. COLENUTT
Mr. Gerald Lynn Colenutt, beloved husband of Mrs. Sheila Colenutt of Red Deer, passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on Monday, June 24, 2002 at the age of 57 years. Gerald was a long time employee at Peavey Industries in Red Deer. He loved his car, a 1939 Chevrolet Street Rod. Gerald loved sports and was a fan of the Red Deer Rebels since day one. He also loved to golf and kick back at Wee Too Beach. Gerald was a very big practical joker. Besides his loving wife, Sheila, Gerald is survived by two sons, Chris (Shelley) Colenutt and his three grandchildren, Christina, Candace and Tabitha of Whitecourt, Alberta; Geoff Colenutt (Nicole) of Red Deer; one daughter, Geraldine Colenutt (Noel) of Red Deer. Gerald is also survived by his mother, Mabel Colenutt of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and his brother Jack (Joyce) Colenutt of Regina, Saskatchewan. Predeceased by his father, Roy Alexander Colenutt. A Celebration of Gerald's Life will be held at Gaetz Memorial United Church, 4758 Ross Street, Red Deer on Thursday, June 27, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. with Leanne V. Hall officiating. Mr. John Wasyl Nerosky of Red Deer pased away on Sunday, June 23, 2002 at the age of 76 years. Funeral Services for the late Mr. John Wasyl Nerosky will be held on Friday, June 28, 2002 at 1:30 p.m. at Michener Services in the Beaver Hall Northside Chapel with the Reverend Grant Woodcock officiating. Margaret strong (nee Cozens) passed away Monday, June 17, 2002 at the age of 82 years. Marg leaves to mourn her loss, children, Barb and Dave Colbeck of Lethbridge, Les and Deb Strong of Calgary and Ken Strong of Calgary, along with nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Marg was born and schooled in Calgary where she met and later married (November 10, 1939, Halifax, NS) Robert (Harry) Strong who predeceased her in January 1988. Marg and Harry moved many times while Harry served in the R.C.A.F. (25 years) retiring in 1956 to teach school in Red Deer. Marg was a member of Gaetz Memorial United Church and the Waskasoo UCW. A memorial service will be held at Gaetz Memorial United Church in Red Deer on Tuesday, July 2, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. conducted by Dr. Fran Hare. Memorial tributes may be made directly to Gaetz Memorial United Church. Margaret's name will join that of her husband on the Legion Memorial at Alto Reste Cemetery.

Mrs. Marlene Joyce Walton, beloved wife of Mr. Robert Walton of Penhold, passed away at her home on Saturday, June 22, 2002 at the age of 61 years. Besides her loving husband, Robert, Marlene is survived by two daughters; Joyce (Brian) Koteles of Penhold, Alberta and Lisa (Darren) Johnston of Red Deer. She is also survived by her father John Prohl of Wimborne, Alberta and five grandchildren. A Private Family Service will be held at a later date. CARRITT
Leroy (Roy) Carritt of Eckville, Alberta passed away suddenly on Monday, June 10, 2002. Roy was born in Ottawa, ON on April 14, 1943 and grew up in Red Deer, AB. He joined the Army in 1960 and spent thirteen years in various locations around the world. Upon retiring from the service, Roy moved to Eckville with his family to go into business with his father and one of his brothers. During the 30 years he has lived in Eckville, Roy was an active member of the Legion and involved in many community organizations. Roy was predeceased by his mother, Dorothy in 1999, and by both paternal and maternal grandparents. Roy is survived by his wife Pam, two children Mike (Amy) Carritt and Jennifer Ards, three grandchildren Kyrie and Zachary Carritt and Noah Ards. He is also survived by his father, Art Carritt, six brothers, Doug (Nancy), Laurie, Mel (Angel), Brian (Donna), Brad and Glen (Linda) and 4 sisters, Lynda (Larry) Greiner, Chris (Don) Llewellyn, Lezlie (Ron) Molyneux and Debra Brown. Roy is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. THOMLISON
William Norman Thomlison passed away suddenly on June 1, 2002 in Olds, Alberta. Bill was born on September 25, 1919 in Eyebrow, Saskatchewan, and as a young boy, moved with his family to Alberta. In 1949, he and his wife, Toni, settled in Red Deer. Bill became the Fire Chief of the Red Deer Fire Department and served in this position from 1950 until his retirement in 1979. Bill was proud of the growth in the department during his years there and had fond memories of the men he worked with. Bill was predeceased by his wife Toni, in August, 2001. He will be sadly missed by his children: Gary, Lorne, Darryl (Susan), Dale, Joy (Keith), Glen (Rhonda), and Gale, and also by his 16 grandchildren: Airyn, Lisa, Scott, Tracey, Jason, Jackie, Melissa, Jordan, Noah, Elliott, Michelle, Rob, Marnie, Steven, Lynsey and Carly. The family would like to thank the staff at Sunrise Village in Olds for the special care provided to Dad over the past year. Leslie Ernest Bradshaw passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on May 31, 2002 at the age of 48 years. He is survived by his wife, Colina MacDonald; daughter, Kristin; his mother, Verna Bradshaw; his brother, Ken Bradshaw (Fern, Brian and Diane); his sister, Shirley Frisky (Pam, Allison and brother-in-law, Dennis Frisky) and his sister Sharon Blair (Fred, Kathryn and Jennifer). He is also survived by Colina's mother, Hilda MacDonald, and her brothers, John, Doug, Bob and Bill; and sisters, Joanne, Peggy and Carla and their families. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends. Les was predeceased by his father Charles in 1984. The Funeral Service will be held at the Condor Community Centre on Thursday, June 6, 2002 at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow in the Hespero Cemetery.
