Mrs. Margaret Jean Parker of The Horn Hill District, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, Red Deer, Alberta, on Monday, March 31, 2003 at the age of 87 years. Margaret was born on November 26, 1915 at Calgary, Alberta. She married Alex Parker and they had a lovely family together, two sons and two daughters. Margaret was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her life revolved around the family she loved and cherished. She loved being in the kitchen and Margaret would make her family the most wonderful and delicious meals and treats; she was just an excellent cook. Margaret was a very busy lady always doing something with her hands. One of her favorite pastimes was the gardening of her flowers. She loved her flowers and perhaps much of her own beauty shone through their smiling faces as she would watch them dance in the sunlight. Flowers and gardening were very much a part of Margaret and her dedication and hard work paid off when in 1989, she won the Cliff Doan Rural Beautification Award for the County of Red Deer. Another of Margaret's wonders was the fact that she was still milking the cows until she was in her late seventies. There were not many things Margaret could not do. Everything she did was done with ease, grace and loving kindness. She was an inspiring lady who taught her family many things, kindness, generosity, patience, goodness and most of all love. We will miss her dearly. Margaret leaves to mourn her loss, her loving children; daughter, Jean and her husband, Joe Neigum of Red Deer, daughter, Lorraine Klepper of Red Deer and son, Earl Parker of The Horn Hill District, Alberta, her dear grandchildren, Brenda (Al), Joe, Theresa, Lorie, Brent (Anne), Vance (Michele), Tony, Marilyn (Allan) and Shauna and great grandchildren; Chad, Amanda, Cody, Anthony, Shanaya, Alexandra, Ty, Cheyenne, Colbey, Ben, Brin and Serena. She is also survived by a brother, John and his wife, Betty Spenceley, sister, Eileen Brown and sister-in-law, Madge Robinson. Margaret was predeceased by her beloved husband, Alex in 1980, a son, Fred in 1997 and her father, Edward Fletcher and her mother, Elizabeth Spenceley.
