WEATHERILL, Clair

Clair Weatherill of Wainwright, AB passed away peacefully from Alzheimer's on July 12, 2003 at the age of 62 years. He leaves to mourn his loving wife, Jeanette, of 36 years and three children; Son, Brad (Michelle) Weatherill of Red Deer, two daughters, Brenda (Bryce) Olson of Provost, Bonnie (Daren) Sheridan of Wainwright. Papa Clair will be sadly missed by his six little grandchildren. Also survived by two sisters, Marlene (Ralph) Perry of Ponoka, Malora (Roger) Lee of Stettler; two brothers, Bill (Diane) Weatherill of Nelson, BC, Reg (Pat) Weatherill of Tees; mother-in-law, Terry Orom of Ponoka as well as numerous other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Wilfrid and Mary and an infant brother, Gordon. Prayer services for will be conducted on Monday, July 14, 2003 at 7:00 PM from the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Wainwright. Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Tuesday, July 15, 2003 at 1:00 PM from the Blessed Sacrament Church, Wainwright with Father Jozef Wroblewski officiating. Interment will follow at the Wainwright Cemetery. If so desired the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Wainwright Elementary Public School. WEIR, Alice B.

Alice Weir was born on June 23, 1908 in Calgary, the oldest daughter of Frank and Maggie Collicutt. She died in Red Deer on June 30, 2003. She spent her childhood in Calgary and on the family ranch west of Crossfield. She attended Normal School in Calgary and taught at Crossfield, a number of rural Alberta Schools, at Bowden and at Olds. In 1939 she married Alex Weir and moved to the farm just west of Olds where they raised their family. She is survived by her four children, Donna Draves (Dick) of Red Deer, Sandy Hasinoff (Dan) of Edmonton, Bob (Rita) of Cochrane and Bill of Didsbury; nine grandchildren, Karen Draves, Leanne Schlachter, David and Michael Hasinoff, Krista and Grayson Weir, Sara Garett and Tegan Weir, and six great grandchildren also survive her. Her husband Alex, her parents, a brother and two sisters predeceased her. Alice was a loving mother and grandmother, a dedicated teacher and an enthusiastic community worker. After her retirement she thoroughly enjoyed the activities of the Olds Evergreen Society and joined many senior travel groups. She moved to Red Deer in 1993 to be near her family, and resided at the Red Deer Nursing Home until her passing. Her family is very grateful for the care that she received at the nursing home in her final years. Funeral Services for Alice Weir will be held at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Olds at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 5, 2003 with Reverend Diane Beach officiating. Graveside Service to follow at the Olds Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the charity of choice. WILCOCK

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Christopher Alan Wilcock on Monday, July 14, 2003. He was born on February 3, 1969 in New Westminster, BC, and was 34 years of age. He is survived by his three children, Amy, Rylan and Adam. Chris loved each of his children so much. He was shattered without them. He is also survived by his parents, Alan and Myrle Wilcock of Lacombe; his sister, Kathy Dyck (husband James - children Breanna, Zach and Liam) of Redmond, Oregon and his brother, Robin (Lissa) of Montreal, Quebec; his grandmother, Joan Wilcock of Lethbridge and several aunts, uncles and cousins. His very special friends, Jen Heggie and Rob Low. Also his children's mother, Tammy Nicks from Red Deer. Chris worked hard and enjoyed his co-workers and appreciated their support. Chris enjoyed camping and the outdoors whenever he had a chance. Those of us who knew and loved him will miss him so much. We know he is with Jesus and that he recently rededicated his life to Christ. Funeral Services will be held from the Kentwood Alliance Church, #4 Kennedy Drive, Red Deer, AB, on Saturday, July 19, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation entrusted to the Central Alberta Crematorium. WILLSON, ARLENE KAY Peacefully passed away at her home with her family by her side on Tuesday, July 8, 2003. Arlene Moisey, beloved wife of Dr. Bob Willson of Midhurst. Loving mother of McKenzie and Kaylie. Dear daughter of Joan of Red Deer, Alberta and the late Stephen Moisey. Much loved sister of Linda Bassett (Herb) of Victoria, B.C. and Sheila Moisey of Edmonton, Alberta. Loving daughter-in-law of Ruby and Gord Willson of Barrie. Dear sister-in-law of Karen Vincent of Woodstock, Valerie Willson of Etobicoke and Cheryl Hector and her husband Dave of Georgetown. A celebration of Arlene's life will be held at a later date in September in her garden. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Royal Victoria Hospital, Oncology Department through the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home Clapperton and Worsley St., Barrie. WILSON

Rose Belle Wilson of Sylvan Lake, AB., passed away peacefully on July 1, 2003 at the age of 85 years. Born on November 8, 1917 in Camden Township, Ont. Rose married Kenneth Wilson in Kingston, Ont., and together they proudly raised their three children. Rose was a kind hearted person who loved life and lived her life to the fullest and enjoyed her many interests; bowling, darts, cribbage, bingo and outings with the seniors, as well as being an active member of the Sylvan Lake Legion Branch #212. Her family was her greatest treasure and she took great pleasure in their accomplishments. Rose will be lovingly remembered by son Ronald (Joan) of Sylvan Lake, daughters Karen (Rudy) of London, Ont. and Janice Wilson of Sylvan Lake, AB. She will also be missed by grandchildren; LeeAnn (Dave), Tammy (Doug), Darcy (Stacy), Ben, Megan, Sandra, Gordon and Rory, and 9 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and numerous relatives and friends. Rose, the third of six sisters is survived by Bertie Judge, Mary Smithies, Joey Whalen, Julia Ewart and Elgay Armstrong. Rose was predeceased by her husband Kenneth, her mother Mary and her father Joseph. Cremation took place on July 3, 2003 at Rose's request and a celebration of her life will be held at the Sylvan Lake Funeral Home 5019 -47A Ave., Sylvan Lake, AB. on Monday, July 7, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. Rose's ashes will be placed by her husband Kenneth's side in Cataraqui Cemetery, Kingston, Ontario. In lieu of flowers a donation to Cancer Research would be appreciated.

WRIGHT, Bryce

With great sadness, the family of BRYCE ROGER WRIGHT announces his passing on June 26, 2003 at the age of 58. Bryce is survived by daughter and son-in-law Laurena and Darcy Newman of Valleyview, Alberta, daughter Cheri Lynn of Peterborough, Ontario, mother and father Margaret and Leroy Wright of Cardston, Alberta, brother and sister-in-law Lynn and Glenda Wright, of Milk River, Alberta, sister and brother-in-law Carol and Poul Blindback of Enchant, Alberta, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his sister Arlene and brother-in-law Llyn Hippard. Bryce was born in Lethbridge, Alberta on December 9, 1944 and spent his early years in and around Brooks, Alberta. Later he moved to Calgary where he studied structural engineering at SAIT. He married Helen Krpan in 1969 and started a family. In 1978, Bryce moved to Red Deer and began his own small business Datapressions Ltd. Bryce's true passion and hobby was delicious pork and beef barbequing. Over many years he fed thousands of people all over BC and Alberta. He was known to many for his outgoing and friendly personality. Bryce was committed to improving his trade and was always on the lookout for new recipes, BBQ set-ups and challenges. Bryce practiced many hobbies, including hot-air ballooning, astronomy, auction-hunting, strategy games and mind-puzzles. He loved to teach and learn from others about the world and traveled afar to Africa, Europe and Central America. In the early 1990s he moved to Blackfalds, Alberta where he lived until shortly before his death. The family would like to thank Bryce's friends and those who were close during his time of illness. Also deserving of gratitude are the staff at Red Deer Regional Hospital and Milk River Hospital. Memorial Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge on Monday, July 7, 2003 at 1:00 P.M. According to Bryce's wishes, a barbeque pig roast memorial in celebration of his life will take place at the ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION, BRANCH #35, Red Deer on Friday July 11, 2003 at 2:00 P.M. ZYLENKO, Stephanie
1913-2003

Stephanie Zylenko passed away in the Rimbey Health Care Center on July 11, 2003 at the age of 90 years. She leaves to mourn her passing her daughter Mercedes (Larry) Sheflo of Lacombe, 2 grandchildren; Stewart (Linda) Sheflo and Grant (Donna) Sheflo, 4 great grandchildren; Erin, Brooke, Johnathon and Steven Sheflo. Her loving spirit will be missed by all who came in contact with her. ROBERTSON - William (Bill)
Dec. 31, 1916-May 6, 2004

Bill was predeceased by his wife Hazel in 1991. He leaves to mourn his children Butch (Florence), Sandy (Larry), Kathy (Allin), Lorna (Stuart), Heather (Stephen), 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, brothers Jim and Alf (Lucy), sisters-in-law Lorna (Dale), Noreen, and many friends in the Delburne community. A tea in celebration of Bills' life will be held at the Delburne Drop In Center Sunday May 16 from 2-4 pm. The family request is that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.

BAXTER

A. Rodger Baxter passed away suddenly on February 14, 2004 at the age of 49. Survived by his girlfriend Margret, parents Everton and Blanche Baxter, brother David (Marian), sisters Elaine Taylor (Dennis) and Janet Tebbutt (Paul), nieces Tamara (Brad), Dana, Seanna, Breanne, and nephew Cody. Rodger led a life of adventure and continuous education. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and landscaper and thrived on good conversation amongst his friends. A very special thanks to all the staff at the Foothills ICU for their incredible care. An outdoor gathering for family and friends will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2004 at Stauffer Creek (North Raven River). From the Town of Stauffer, go west 2 miles then turn south to the Lazy M Ranch, to the bridge near the Buck for Wildlife Parking lot. Friends are then invited to celebrate Rodger's life in a private room at the Stanford Inn, Red Deer, from 1 to 5 p.m.
