Steve was born in Nyiradony, Hungary on July 3, 192, moved to Calgary in 1957 and has resided here since. Throughout his life, Steve was an exceptional craftsman who designed and assembled fine furniture with the Tresco Desk Company until his retirement in 1988. Steve was a member of St. Istvan Men's Society of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, as well as a faithful parishioner of longstanding of the Church. Besides his loving wife Maria, Steve is survived by his sister Anna Ander of Calgary and his cousin Andrew Vajta and his wife Helen of Edmonton; as well as relatives and friends in Hungary and in Calgary. SKOW -- Aase Agnes passed on to be with the Lord on December 27, 1997 at the age of 88. Every life has its beginning and its end. With this in our minds and in our hearts, her children, Ruth Gerlitz, Eleanor Higgins, Ray Skow, and spouses, would liketo take this time to share with all their friends and family their loss and their peace at the passing of their mother Aase. Those who went before her were her dear husband Ingemann (Inky) Skow, and her brothers, Ole, George and Edward Hanson. Those she leaves behind are her siblings, Eric Hanson, Elsie Christensen, Ruth Peterson, Gertrude McDougal and Ann Millar; nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Aase was born on November 21, 1909 in Dalmous, Denmark. At the age of eighteen, she immigrated to Canada and resided in Redvers, Saskatchewan. Here she met her partner in life and began her family in Calgary and surrounding area. SPILLER -- Rolla Cecil (Cec) Spiller of Cochrane, passed away at the Foothills Hospital on Thursday, December 25, 1997 at the age of 85 years. BAKSA -- Mr. Paul Baksa passed away peacefully at the Colonel Belcher Hospital on December 26, 1997 at the age of 94 years. BANKS -- Dorothy May (nee Harding), passed away on Sunday, December 28, 1997 at the age of 98 years. She was born August 22, 1899 in Shropshire, England. Dorothy's family homesteaded in the Olds area when she was fourteen. She taught school from the ne room school house and later the normal practice to substitute teaching in more modern schools in Calgary until her retirement. With an indomitable adventuresome spirit, she became involved in the United Church Missionary Society, the Calgary General Hospital Auxiliary, the Calgary Zoo, the Glenbow Museum, the Alberta Aberdeen Angus Association and was inducted into the Olds College Hall of Fame in 1993. Dorothy loved music, so having accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Saviour, she is now relishing the heavenly music. She will also be remembered for her insatiable desire to learn, her positive attitude and sense of humor. Dorothy is survived by two daughters, Sandi Landymore and Susan Banks. "Muggy", as she was affectionately dubbed by her grandchildren, Jim Landymore (with two great-grandchildren, Corbin and Rochele), Ken Landymore (with great-granddaughter Baylee), Steven Landymore and Sharilyn Landymore, will also be joyfully remembered by each one. Dorothy has two living brothers, Hugh Harding of Victoria, and Kenneth Harding of Prince Rupert, British Columbia, as well as many wonderful nephews, nieces and their children. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, Rowland and Nellie Harding, two sisters, Joyce as a baby, and Elsie in 1984, as well as her husband Dr. Bligh Banks in 1988. BENKO -- Mrs. Agnes Marie Benko of Calgary, passed away suddenly at her residence on Monday, December 29, 1997 at the age of 79 years. Agnes was born September 25, 1918 in Raymore, Saskatchewan. CLEMENTS -- Olivia (Lovie) passed away on December 25, 1997 at the age of 84 years to be with her loving husband Speed. She is survived by her son Brenton (Loretta) and their six children, daughter Shirley (Norm) Carter and their nine children, daugher Gloria (Wayne) Dale-Johnson and their five children, and her late daughter Doreen (Michael) Meyers' children. She is also survived by two nephews, many great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband Frank (Speed), her son Billy, daughter Doreen (Michael), brothers, Crawford and Courtney Scott, and a niece Edna. Lovie was born on January 31, 1913 in Calgary. She met Speed in 1927 and they married on May 8, 1930, enjoying sixty-five years together. Lovie's family was the centre of her life. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother, being known as "mom", (nana) to many others as well. Her home was always open to those who knew her. Lovie was co-founder of Calalta Figure Skating Club and worked hard to bring indoor skating arenas to Calgary. She also spent many summers as dorm mother for the summer skating school in Kelowna. Lovie spent the past seven months living at the Bethany Care Centre in Airdrie to be near family. Her family and friends loved her a great deal and she will be sadly missed. DAVIDSON -- Marjorie Katherine Davidson passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Hospital on December 28, 1997, three days prior to her 87th birthday. She was predeceased by her husband Stanley Harris, her sister Emma Wakeford, and her grandson Gary Daidson. DEAKIN -- Mrs. Helen Irene Deakin passed away suddenly at the Southwood Nursing Home in Calgary on December 28, 1997 at the age of 87 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her son Doug (Helen) and family of Calgary; her daughter Gail Lonsberry (Dnald) and family of Jasper and Kamloops; sister Kay McDonald of Victoria, B.C.; and younger brother Harold Stackhouse (Dorothy) of Edmonton. Born on June 18, 1910 on a homestead located near South Cooking Lake, Alberta. Helen took her elementary education at the Ministik Lake School, which still exists, and her Commercial High at McDougall, the Edmonton school which the late Percy Page made famous through his coaching of girl's basketball. In addition to raising and ensuring the best education available for her children, Helen pursued her love of bookkeeping, firstly at the Farmer's Union of Alberta, in Edmonton, and following the family's move to Edson in 1954, with Pattinson Insurance Services in Edson, Alberta, until her retirement in 1975. For so many years as she was able, Helen's passion was the promotion of family unity and the hosting of weekend get-togethers of family and friends at the Deakin residence in Edson. "Mom", you will always be remembered for your bright cheerful smile and your warm hospitality; not to mention those great "care packages" we inevitably took home with us after each weekend. Helen was predeceased by her husband Edward in March of 1980.
