- Shop now for incredible insights into your wellbeing -Bizot, Mrs. Elizabeth Johanna "Betty" Bizot (nee Nobels) of Nanaimo, B.C., formerly of High River and Strathmore, passed away peacefully at Nanaimo on August 12th, 2003 at the age of 94 years. She was born at Stompwijk, Holland on August 30th, 1908. Betty is survived by her son Jack and his wife Dot Bizot, daughter, Ria and her husband Jean-Paul, son Jerry and his wife Jean and by five grandchildren, three great grandchildren and four step-grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews in Holland and by many good friends. Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband Jerry on September 20th, 1984. A funeral service was held at Snodgrass Funeral Chapel, High River, on Wednesday, August 20th at 11:00 a.m. with Father Philip Le officiating. An interment service will follow at Highwood Cemetery. Bramley, Bertie beloved wife of Leslie Bramley, High River, passed away at the High River Hospital on August 22nd, 2003 at the age of 89 years. Besides her loving husband Bertie is survived by her son William (Janice) Bramley, Grande Prairie and her grandchildren Lyle (Joyce) Bramley and Monica (Len) Russell. She is also survived by her brothers Orvil (Betty) McDonald, Calgary and George (Louise) McDonald, Didsbury and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Snodgrass Funeral Chapel, High River on Tuesday, August 26th at 2:00 P.M. Pastor Henry Friesen officiating. Calderwood, Arlene of Black Diamond, passed away on August 8th, 2003 at the age of 74 years. Arlene is survived by her children Judy (Vern) Wanlund, Janet (Ross) Shapka, Ron Calderwood and David Calderwood and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Ronald Calderwodd in 1978. A funeral service was held at Snodgrass Funeral Chapel, 200 Woodgate Road, Okotoks on Tuesday, August 12th at 1:30 P.M. Cane, Beryl Harriet Lenore passed away on August 15th, 2003 at the age of 76 years. Beryl is survived by her two sons Jeffrey and Gregory (Loreen) and; brothers Gordon (Ethel) Tarves, Laurie (Dallas) Tarves, Terry (Lavina) Tarves; sisters Gail (Gerry) Parcells and Joan (Gordon) Evans and sister-in-law June Tarves. She was predeceased by her husband Lionel in 1993; parents Goldie and Gordon Tarves; brothers Bruce and Dale Tarves and sister-in-law Ettie Cane. Beryl was born in Birch Hills, Saskatchewan on November 21, 1926 and moved to Calgary at age 3 in 1929. She married Lionel in 1961 and they moved to Millarville in 1984. While in Calgary she worked with Alberta Pacific Grain Company and Mobil Oil. Beryl belonged to the Oil Wives and PEEG wives clubs in Calgary and enjoyed playing bridge and being active with the Senior Ladies Guild of the Millarville Church. A visitation was held at the Snodgrass Funeral Home in Okotoks, Alberta on Wednesday, August 20th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.. A funeral service took place on Thursday, August 21st at 1:00 p.m. at the Christ Church Millarville, Millarville, Alberta. Gaudry, Brian Michael, of Calgary passed away suddenly at Okotoks on August 17th, 2003 at the age of 39 years. He is survived by his sons Cody and Keifer and their mother Kelly Gaudry, Calgary; his parents Ron and Mary of High River, brothers Shawn and Stephen, Calgary and sister and brother-in-law Lorie and Bill Long, High River. He will also be missed by his nieces, Cori and Tara, his Uncle Gary Gaudry and cousins Jay and Derek. A time of visitation for family and friends was held at Snodgrass Funeral Home, 301 Macleod Trail, High River on Thursday, August 21st, at 7:00 p.m. Cremation followed at Parklawn Crematorium. Halfacree, Olive Evelyn passed away on August 9th, 2003 at the Oilfields Hospital in Black Diamond at the age of 91 years. Olive is survived by her loving husband Colson; sons James McNeil, Ralph McNeil, Lloyd McNeil, Douglas McNeil and Bob McNeil; sisters Martha West, Marjorie Mills, Eva Holt and Aubrey Tilt as well as 25 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren. Olive was predeceased by her parents Brock and Annabelle Tilt; sister Eda Davis and brother Francis Tilt. Olive grew up in Francis, Saskatchewan were she later farmed along side her father, she then continued her love of farming when she married Colson and farmed together in Lumsden, Saskatchewan. She was a Silver Cross Mother with the Royal Canadian Legion and had all 5 sons serve in the military throughout the world including Australia, Laos, Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia, Cypress, Norway Germany as well as the seven seas. Linton, George of Cayley passed away at the High River Hospital on August 5th, 2003 at the age of 81 years. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Harvey and Ann Linton, Victoria and by various other relatives. Morgan, Marie of Black Diamond, passed away on August 20, 2003 at the Foothills Hospital after an extended illness. Marie spent the first 30 years of her marriage as a partner to Jim’s military career, traveling across Canada and Europe with her family, making lifetime friends along the way. Her most recent years she was content staying close to her home in Black Diamond, spoiling her family with apple pie and peanut butter cookies, meeting new friends, playing cards and floor curling at the Valley Neighbors Club and the Griffin Center. Marie is the beloved wife of Jim for 44 years, loving mother to her two sons, Craig (Wanda) of Cochrane, Daryl (Debbie) of Calgary. Cherished grandmother to her three grandchildren Sarah (Dean) Spocchi, Jason and Chad. She is also survived by her brother Bob (Robert) Hardy of Vancouver, B.C., Sister Irene (Harry) O’Donnel of Toronto, ON., and aunt Isabelle (Al) Hinz of Las Vegas. A Memorial Service was held at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, Black Diamond, on Tuesday, August 26, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Fr. John Bastigal officiated. Roy, Blanche passed away peacefully at the Father Lacombe Nursing Home on August 7, 2003. Born September 1, 1914, Blanche was the youngest daughter of Edouard and Elisa (Letourneau) de Laforest. Blanche spent her younger years in religious life and taught in various communities in Saskatchewan where she was known as Sister Nativity. Blanche left the order in 1970 and continued hr teaching career in Fort McMurray, AB. A few years later she married Philip Roy who gave her great joy and they enjoyed their time together until his death in 1983. In many ways, Blanche was a lady ahead of her time. She could well be described as a free spirit, always pursuing new experiences. Blanche was also predeceased by 7 brothers and sisters, Marcel, George, Gerard, Paul, Marie, Antoinette and Louise. She is survived by a sister-in-law Mary McEachern of Whitewood, SA. as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass was celebrated at the chapel of Father Lacombe Home, 332 146 Ave. SE, Calgary, on Monday, August 11, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. The Rev. Fr. P. Cramer celebrant.
