RUDE, Lena (nee Schmaltz)
On Wednesday, August 30, 2017, Lena Rude of Westlock, Ab. passed away at the age of 75. Lena was born September 7, 1941 in Beiseker Ab.
She is survived by her children, Dan (Lana) , Debbie, Theresa (Troy) , Darlene (Wayne) , Nancy (Charles) and David. Also, is survived by 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Lena is predeceased by her loving husband Don, son-in-law Alvin, her parents and all 12 of her siblings.
A memorial service will be held at Westlock Funeral Home on Friday, September 8, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Carole Anne Nelson (Evans)
1935 - 2017
It is with heavy hearts and deep loss we announce the passing of Carole Nelson who passed away on June 2, 2017 at the Provost Health Centre at the age of 81 years.
Carol Anne was born November 19, 1935 in Regina, Saskatchewan to Fred and Irene Evans. On November 12, 1960 Carole would marry Rodney Nelson and together they would raise their family of one boy, Michael, and one girl, Debbie, on the farm near Metiskow. Carole and Rodney’s life together was blessed with children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and many friends – all of which held a very special place in Carole’s heart.
Carole’s life revolved around her family so it was only fitting for her to be surrounded by her family when she passed.
Carole will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by her husband of 56 years, Rodney; son, Michael (Tammy) Nelson; daughter, Debbie (Brian) Scherger; grandchildren, Brittany (Jesse) , Nicole (Craig) , Spencer, Sydney, Aaron (Tara) , Tyler and Michaela; great grandchildren, Hudson, Heath, Harper, Ryan and Ryker; brother, Freddie (Joanie) Evans; brother in law, Ivan Nelson; as well as many other relatives and friends.
Carole was predeceased by her sister, Doreen (Nelson) Schuck; sister in law, Paddy Nelson.
Donald Innocent
Born: Sun., Aug. 21, 1927
Died: Mon., Oct. 21, 2013
Mr. Donald Innocent of Stettler, Alberta passed away in his sleep at home on Monday, October 21, 2013 at the age of 86 years. Donald was born August 21, 1927 in Stettler, the youngest of nine children of Jack and Florence Innocent. Donald was raised in the Big Valley area on the family farm. He farmed with his dad and brother John on the homestead until his dad retired and then he continued to farm with his older brother John until moving onto his own farm. Don went on to spend over 60 years farming in the region. In 1964, Don met the love of his life and long-time companion, Rose in Calgary, Alberta. The couple were married on June 21, 1965 in Kitimat, BC. Don and his new family moved to Don's farm north-east of Big Valley. In 1987, Don and Rose retired and moved into Stettler but his heart was always still on the farm. Don was preceded by his loving wife Rose on May 21, 2008. A celebration of Don's life will be held at the Stettler United Church on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. John Crowdis officiating. A loving tribute was presented by granddaughter Heidi McMann. Don will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife Rose following the service in the Delia Cemetery. Donald is survived by his two loving daughters, Shirley Denzler and her husband Gordon of Delia Alberta, Linda Greig and her husband Rick of Blind Bay B.C., four grandchildren, Kent Greig, Don Greig, Heidi McMann (Jon) and Darren Denzler (Krystal) , five great grandchildren, Karissa Greig, Spencer Greig, Logan Denzler, Chloe Greig and Bo Denzler. He is also survived by sisters Marion McKercher, Dorothy Isaac and Mary (Bob) Thomson, brother John (Volly) Innocent and by sister-in-law Madaline Innocent as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and many very dear friends. He was predeceased by his parents John and Florence, wife Rose, brothers Kenny and Murray and by his sister Florence Cox. Don touched the lives of many people with his contagious smile and laughter, and maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end. As an expression of sympathy and in loving memory of Don, memorial contributions may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in care of Brennen Funeral Home and Cremation Services P.O. Box 193 Stettler, Alberta TOC 2LO who have been entrusted with the care and arrangements.
Jeffrey, Milburn Hall (Jeff)
February 4, 1930 - May 9, 2017
With great sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of our dear father, Milburn Jeffrey on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at the age of 87 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his children Lorie (Steve) , Clayton (Linda) , Lisa (Lorne) , daughter-in-law Monica, 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 3 brothers, and 4 sisters along with many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Jeff was predeceased by his wife Mae, son Dean, great-grandson Samuel, as well as 4 brothers.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. at the Bruce Community Centre, Bruce, Alberta. Inurnment will follow in the Bruce Cemetery. If so desired and in lieu of flowers, donations are kindly accepted in memory of Jeff to the “Kidney Foundation” or the “Heart and Stroke Foundation” or charity of one’s choice.
Dorothy May Waldo
On Tuesday, November 3, 2020 Mrs. Dorothy Waldo of Vermilion passed away at the University of Alberta Hospital at the age of 79 years.
Dorothy will be loved and remembered by her sons, Darryl (Deb) Waldo of Sylvan Lake and Travis (Lorinda) Waldo of Vermilion; grandchildren Tanner (Caitlin) , Tyler, Shelby, Justin (Bianca) and Tyrel (Madison) ; great grandchildren Elias and Nova, Piper, and Flynn
She was predeceased by her husband Neville; parents Jerry and Florence Rysavy; son Robin and daughter Dawn.
Cremation has taken place and her family will celebrate her life at a family service to be held in the summer of 2021.

Thomas Cecil Gordon
On Saturday, August 3, 2019, Thomas Cecil Gordon of Wainwright and formerly, Chauvin, Alberta, passed away at the Wainwright Health Centre at the age of 93 years.
Cecil will be forever missed by his loving family; wife, Merle; three children, Garry of Lloydminster, AB, Patricia (Bernard) Bolger of Ajax, ON, Haldon (Brenda) Gordon of Chauvin, AB; grandchildren; Jason (Teresa) Gordon of Southview, AB, Kade (Lindy) Bolger of Whitby, ON, and Jodie (Garth) Gawron of Fort Saskatchewan, AB; great grandchildren, Dillon, Logan, Bryton, Austin, Jayna & Jacob Gawron; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Isabella & James William Gordon Sr., step-mother, Ada Gordon; sister, Jennie (Clarke) Richardson; brothers, William, Edward, George, James and Samuel; nieces, Ardis Colombe & Joan Hall; nephew, Bill Gordon; and three great nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted on August 9, 2019 at 2 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Chauvin, Alberta with Reverend Steven Haugland officiating. Interment to follow at the Chauvin Cemetery.
If friends so desire, memorial contributions made in Cecil’s name are gratefully accepted to a charity of the donor’s choosing.
GAMBLE, Linda
Linda was born June 15th, 1936 on a farm outside of Plum Coulee, Manitoba the first daughter of Peter & Tina Falk. She was married to Jim Gamble on May 25th, 1961. As was her constant wish she went to sit on the lap of the Lord September 15th, 2017. She will be dearly missed by the love of her life, her husband of 56 years Jim, her three daughters Sandra (Bill) , Lorene (Mark) and Barbara (Mike) , five grandchildren and two great granddaughters. Waiting for her in Heaven are her parents, granddaughter Danielle and great granddaughter Brenna. As per her request there was only a service with family.
Alvin George Erickson
On Tuesday, November 10, 2020 Mr. Alvin Erickson passed away in the Vermilion Health Centre at the ag of 90years. Alvin will be forever loved and missed by his Loving Wife Katrina “Kat” of Mannville; Children Dean Erickson of Ranfurly, Ingrid (Gene) Helmer of Lloydminster, Desiree (Pat) Turnbull of Drumheller, Brandi Minor of Orleans, Ont., and Whitney Minor of Embrun, Ont.; Grandchildren Jared (Jeanine) , Justin (Kim) , Kyle (Hope) ; Great-Grandchildren Lucas, Lily, Jonathon, Zachary, Harley, Zach, Brianna and Luka; as well as his nieces, nephews and extended family.
Alvin was predeceased by his 1st Wife Jane “Jean” Erickson in 1997; Son Travis Minor; Parents Albert and Artie Mae Erickson; Sisters Thelma, Ruth and Roberta.
In keeping with Alvin’s wishes cremation has taken place and no formal service is being held.

GRAHAM, Wilber
On August 31st, 2017 Wilber’s journey on this earth ended with family by his side.
He is survived by brother, Gordon; sisters Effie and Joan; sons Bruce (Diane) and Stephen; daughters Sandra (Vic) and Katherine; grandsons Richard, Cole and Jayden; granddaughters Jamie, Hannah and Emily; great granddaughters Randi, Kayci and Molly as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Wilber was predeceased by his wife Myrtle in 2013, brother Winthrope and sisters Pat, Elma and Blanche.
Wilber was born in Grande Prairie, Alberta on May 4th, 1925 and was raised on a farm near Sexsmith, Alberta. He went on to become a paratrooper in the Second World War. Upon his return from overseas he went to Fort McMurray where he
married Myrtle and raised their family.
He was a hard working man who spent his time as logger, miner, heavy equipment operator/trainer and a supervisor. After spending over 30 years with Syncrude Canada he retired in 1986 to the Westlock area.
Wilber was avid outdoors man spending his leisure time hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed reading Louis Lamour western novels.
The family wish to thank Dr. DaCunha for his compassion and care as well as the staff at the Westlock Continuing Care Centre.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Westlock Baptist Church on Saturday, September 9th, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation. Westlock Funeral Home & Crematorium Ltd. 780-349-3474.
WINTONYK, Anthony John
Born - July 2, 1947 in Rosthern, SK
On Tuesday, May 30, 2017, Anthony (Tony) John Wintonyk of Mundare, Alberta passed away peacefully at his home at the age of 69 years.
Tony is survived by his partner Dianne; children Tonia, Travis and Tristan; eight grandchildren and sister Irene. Tony was predeceased by his parents Annie and Nykola, son Connery and sister Sylvia.
Cremation has taken place; memorial services will follow at a later date in Rosthern, Saskatchewan. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alberta Diabetes Foundation.
